How to transfer your data to a new iPhone. Ways to transfer data from one iPhone to another iPhone |
Transferring all data from iPhone to iTunes may be necessary in the most various cases. Most often, users have this need when purchasing a new iPhone, to which they need to transfer all the contents of the old device. iTunes in this case becomes a transfer point. Details on how to transfer all data from an iPhone to iTunes are described in this instruction. Step 1: Connect your iPhone to your computer and launch iTunes. If iTunes is not installed on your computer, download the current version of the utility from Apple official website . Step 2: Select your device in the iTunes window.
iTunes will begin the process of creating a backup on your computer. The following content is saved in the copy:
Step 4. Select the menu item " File» → « Devices» → « Move purchases from [device name]" Wait for the synchronization to complete. Its duration depends on the number of purchases made on the mobile device.
According to statistics, buying a new smartphone occurs approximately once a year, and each time you have to think about how to quickly and easily transfer all user data and all settings from the old smartphone to the new one. There are enough apps for Android smartphones to do this. Things are a little different with the iPhone. There are hardly any reliable methods without jailbreak, but we will recommend those offered by professionals. So, I suggest you a few steps that will be required to transfer data from an old iPhone to a new one: 1. First you need to update your old iPhone to the latest version of iOS. This will make the process of transferring data and synchronizing a new smartphone easier. 2. Copy data via iTunes. And there are 2 options: as I already noted - through iTunes, or through iCloud. Of course, it’s much easier to do everything through the cloud, but if you have an iPhone with 64GB or 128GB of memory and you don’t want to lose anything, the data transfer process will take too much time. Therefore, we choose iTunes. We connect the old iPhone to the PC with a cord, open iTunes and click on the button (see picture). In Settings you will see a settings column. We will use the Summary item. The Backups section opens, where you are offered the choice of either “iCloud” or “This computer”. We will work with the “This computer” item, checking the “Encrypt iPhone” checkbox. It is needed in order to save time in the future and not have to enter passwords again. Now all we need is patience. Creating a full backup will take about an hour. A word of warning, however, that you will need to repeat this process a second time. This is what scares off many users, but you will be sure that all the contents of the old iPhone will be saved in iTunes. We connect the new smartphone to a computer running iTunes with our saved data. The program will offer to transfer the most latest version backup. We save and wait for all the data to be copied. This will also take about an hour, but let me remind you that with iCloud you would have to wait much longer. Each iPhone owner builds a convenient layout for icons, placing them in folders and desktops. Useful widgets are selected for quick access to the necessary information. The standard ringtone is often replaced with a louder and more recognizable ringtone. Collections of songs, photos and other attributes of many years of use are accumulated. I don’t want to lose everything when switching to a new device. Apple understands this very well and has created a convenient backup mechanism. In this article we will tell you how to transfer data from one iPhone to another without loss. There are two ways to back up your iPhone. For this purpose, the iCloud cloud or a computer with iTunes installed can be used. Both options allow you to restore information on your phone, regardless of its model. You can make a copy on the 5S, and then transfer the data from it to the brand new iPhone X.
iTunesUsing a computer to transfer data between iOS devices can be classified as classic version. This method is used from the first iPhone models to modern ones. The number and size of copies in this case are limited only by the capacity of the PC hard drive.
After we have insured ourselves against accidental loss of accumulated data by creating a copy using one of the options described above, we can proceed to the transition to a new device. After a dialogue for selecting the language and region of residence, the user is offered several configuration options. You can choose to restore from the cloud, from a local copy, or re-register with a different Apple ID. Options are shown in the photo below.
With the release of iOS 11, Apple has greatly simplified the initial setup process. You can transfer settings and information from your old iPhone to your new one by simply placing the two smartphones side by side. The devices will communicate via Bluetooth and you will then need to confirm that the Apple ID you are using is correct. Initial data such as Wi-Fi passwords and installed software characteristics will be transferred to new iPhone. Next, it will independently connect to the network and download the necessary programs from the App Store, applying user settings to them. The advantage of this method is complete automation. Even a pair created with an Apple Watch is cloned. FinallySince iOS 11 is supported by all current iPhone models, the user no longer has to worry about the procedure for switching to a new device and the safety of data. The use of backups for this task fades into the background. Now they perform their direct task by saving information in case of OS failures or the loss of a smartphone. Video instructionYou can learn more about the nuances of transferring information when setting up a new iPhone by watching the thematic video below.
Apple has long taught all its customers that every year after the presentation of a new iPhone they should start saving money to purchase it. In general, nowadays people are increasingly replacing their smartphones with newer ones. In this regard, the issue of transferring data from one iPhone to another is becoming increasingly relevant. We'll talk about how to do this later in the article. Let's figure it out. Go! There are two ways to transfer information from one iPhone to another:
Transfer data via iCloudThe first method is perhaps preferable because of its simplicity. First, you will need to transfer all data from your iPhone to iCloud cloud. Open Settings and select iCloud from the list. In the window that opens, click on “Storage and copies.” Next, in the “Backup” section, activate the “Copy to iCloud” option, and then click “Create a copy.” Once all data has been transferred to the cloud, you can clean your smartphone. This is done by resetting the settings. Please note that the size cloud storage by default it is not large, and therefore all the data may not fit. Make sure all the information is in the cloud before resetting your iPhone. Now you can take a brand new iPhone and load data into it. When you start your device for the first time, click "Recover from iCloud copies" in the iPhone Settings window. Next, you will need to enter authorization data and select the desired device backup (most likely, this is the last one). After this, the transfer of information from the cloud to the new iPhone will begin. Once the process is completed, the phone will reboot. The system will continue to install applications for a while. This is normal, especially if there are a lot of applications. Transferring data via iTunesWe've sorted out the first method, now let's move on to the second. If for some reason the option of moving data through iCloud service didn't work for you, you can achieve the same result using iTunes. First of all, connect your smartphone to your computer and open iTunes. After the program finds your device, go to it and in the “Backups” block, check “This computer.” Next, click on “Create a copy now.” In the window that appears, you will be asked to select the parameters for creating it. In it, select “With copies of programs.” Once the process is completed, you will see a record of the last created backup of the device. Now you can reset your old iPhone and start transferring information to your new one. To do this, when you first launch it, in the “iPhone Setup” window, select “Recover from an iTunes copy.” A window will open in the program in which you can select the desired save (be sure to connect your new iPhone to your computer first). As soon as the transfer of information is completed, iTunes will sync with the device. It may happen that the process throws an error message stating that some objects cannot be moved because you have not authorized the operation on this computer. In this case, go to the program menu and select “Authorize this computer...”. After entering this information, the problem should disappear. Alternative wayThere is a third, alternative method, but it involves the use of third-party tools. You will need to download a special utility to your computer that will allow you to work with iPhone content. Such utilities include file managers iTools, iFile, iPhoneBrowser and some others. In general, this approach is no different from the previous one, only instead of the “native” iTunes it is used third party program. If the interface of any of these utilities is more to your liking than the iTunes interface, then this method will suit you. Now you can easily transfer information from iPhone to iPhone in any way you like. Write in the comments whether this article helped you, and ask any questions you have about the topic discussed. |
