1. Prepare the marinade for the meat. To do this, mix sour cream with mayonnaise and add to them: paprika, suneli hops, lemon juice, honey, salt. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until smooth.

2. Wash the legs and dry them a little. Trim off excess skin and fat, at your discretion. Rub the meat well with salt, place in a bowl and pour over the marinade. Cover with cling film and marinate in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.


3. During this time, prepare the potatoes.

The whole usefulness of potatoes lies in their peel. Therefore, we do not peel the potatoes, but wash them well with a brush and cut them into halves.

I wash the chicken parts thoroughly. If there are remains of feathers, I pull them out with tweezers or clean them off. I cut off the excess fat, do not touch the skin, it can be tucked later so that no areas of meat are exposed.

I won’t stuff the legs, I’ll make it simpler. You've probably noticed that when you rub garlic on chicken, it either burns or the flavor disappears completely. To eliminate all the troubles and make the chicken meat spicy, with the aroma of garlic, I rub it not on top of the skin, but under it. I cut it lightly with a knife and turn it away. There will be a thin film inside - it can easily be torn with your fingers and a pocket will form.

Now it’s very easy to rub the chicken with any spices, sauce, ketchup - choose what you like. I mixed 1.5 tbsp. l. thick tomato sauce with chopped garlic. Added a little salt and coated the meat, pushing it deeper. I would like to note that this procedure is carried out only on the outside of the leg. The inner one does not rub.

I returned the skin to its place and left the leg to marinate while the oven preheated.

I prepare the sauce based on sour cream. Simply because mayonnaise is too fatty for us, too high in calories. You can take what you like. I add two types of mustard to sour cream: regular table mustard and with grains.

I stir. I add flour. The flour will thicken the sauce, it will immediately form a crust and will not drip during baking. This simple technique ensures that your chicken legs are crispy, juicy and golden brown.

It's up to you to add spices or not. I made the sauce brighter and slightly spicier. Mixed with chili pepper and turmeric. For spices, you can add Provençal herbs, curry powder, any pepper, thyme, basil - anything that is suitable for cooking chicken.

Add salt to taste. Mix until smooth and thick without lumps.

For a more contrasting taste and bright color, I added tomato sauce (ketchup, adjika, tomato paste are suitable).

The oven has already warmed up to 200 degrees. I coat the top of the chicken leg with an even thick layer of sauce.

I recommend covering the baking dish with foil so that the edges protrude a little and you can cover the chicken. Do not wrap, but only cover without touching the surface. With this preparation, the legs will not burn either on the bottom or on the top, the crust will be crispy and evenly browned.

I put the chicken legs in a hot oven for 40-45 minutes. Readiness is determined by appearance and the mind-blowing aroma spreading throughout the kitchen. But to be on the safe side, you can take it out and pierce it in the highest place. The juice from the cooked chicken will be clear.
