Therefore, you cannot invent an image of God for yourself, or somehow imagine him. We see God in icons, we see the Mother of God, saints. It's enough.

Is it possible to read prayers while sitting? Imagine that a man came to his father. I came after work, I really want to talk to him, but my legs hurt and I’m so tired that I just don’t have the strength to stand. Will the father, seeing this, not talk to his child? Then, when the pain in the soul subsides, yes, you will probably find the mental strength to go to the doctor, who will prescribe the necessary medications and, perhaps, they will also recommend a priest, who will listen to all the troubles and sorrows with love and understanding and tell you how to live further, how to heal mental pain.

At one time, some of these steps helped me too. My personal opinion may not coincide with the opinion Orthodox clergy– please consult your confessor if you feel that the proposed path is not suitable for you.

Wear a cross around your neck if you don't usually wear one.

Try to stop analyzing your condition and returning in your thoughts to traumatic events again and again.

Accept your suffering as a given. Make peace with them. Stop reasoning on the topics: “Why do I need this?”, “Why me?”

Think about something else: “Why did the Lord send me this suffering?”

If you hear that someone is trying to engage in a conversation with you in your thoughts, do not answer.

Say: “Get away from me, unclean spirit, I don’t want to listen to you, I believe only in my Lord Jesus Christ, I worship, and He alone do I serve.”

Give your thoughts simple and wholesome food - prayers: use simple and short rule St. Ignatius Brianchaninov:

God looks at the heart, and not at some kind of correctness. If a person comes tired and cannot pray, but sits down to watch TV, this is deceit.

It is difficult for him to pray - he can shorten his cell rule in some ways and read it while sitting. You can even lie down if you are really that tired. But such questions are discussed with the confessor in individually. You can pray even in limbo. Ask God for forgiveness that you are praying in this situation, thank the Lord for giving you health and prosperity for today.

And one more thing about fatigue: we are not silent slaves to work until you fall. Yes, you can be exhausted to the point of exhaustion. But we wash ourselves and make our bed, which means we are still able to work hard before lying down.
