Average USE score by year

The admission campaign to Russian universities will begin soon. All future students would like to enter the best university for a good specialty. However, the competition is simply enormous. The main priority for admission will be the scores obtained during the Unified State Exam 2018. One of the most important and compulsory of all subjects is the Russian language. The Russian exam took place on June 6 and the results have long been known.

The overall average score for the Russian exam has increased, albeit slightly, compared to last year's results. In 2018, the average score in Russia is 70.9. More than 3 thousand students were able to score the maximum 100 points.

The 2018 Unified State Exam ticket in Russian consists of 2 parts. The first part contains 25 questions. Questions can be either closed or open. IN open questions, the answers to them consist of one word or a combination of words. Closed test tasks involve choosing one of the given answers. These tasks are quite simple and relate to ordinary school curriculum. For those who studied well at school, solving these tasks will not bring difficulties in the exam.

What’s more difficult about the Russian exam is the final essay. The student needs to read a short text passage on a specific topic and express his opinion on this matter in writing. It is worth preparing thoroughly for this task. You must allocate an hour from the total exam time to complete this task. It is not enough to simply express your thoughts clearly; you need to support them with facts and examples. It is important to remember the structure of the essay: introduction, main part and conclusion. An essay that contains less than 150 words will not be graded.

Assessment system and results of the Unified State Examination 2018 in the Russian language

The Russian language is assessed according to the same principle as all other disciplines. The number of points scored for completed tasks are summed up and transferred to a 100-point scale. From it you can calculate a grade within 5. So 24 points is the threshold point, without reaching which the student will not receive a matriculation certificate. For admission to higher education educational institution You will need to score at least 36 points. From the minimum point to 56 points, a mark of “3” will be given. For those students who answered questions within the range of 57-71 points, a mark of “4” will be given. The maximum mark of “5″ means that the student managed to score from 72 to 100 points for the exam.

As the results of 2018 show, many students managed to stop at the “4″ mark. But 3,700 exam participants showed truly high knowledge native language and reached the maximum number of points, namely 100. Unfortunately, 0.4% of graduates were unable to successfully pass the exam. The overall trend of the results showed that the national average score remains within 70 points.

When can you retake the mandatory Russian exam?

For those students who do not agree with the assessment of their knowledge, there is an appeal procedure. Applications to refute the scores assigned by the commission can be submitted no later than 2 days after the announcement of the exam results. The student must fill out an application form in two copies. The SES representative signs them and returns one of the statements to the participant, the second is transferred to the commission. Then you just have to wait for information about the time and place of the review. It is important to prepare well and be able to answer all the commission’s questions.

The second option for correcting an exam grade is simpler. For those who wish to retake the Unified State Examination in Russian, a special day has been allocated during the additional testing period. It will take place on September 4th. If you fail a second time, the exam can only be retaken next year.

When taking the exam testing, students are asked to complete 24 basic tasks from the first part. They require graduates to provide a short answer, which is recorded verbally or digitally. The second part of the exam testing contains only one task. Students are asked to write an essay.

How are Unified State Examination scores in the Russian language translated and what is the minimum and maximum number of them that can be obtained? These questions are among the most concerning both for high school students themselves and for their parents and teachers. After checking the final test, a primary score is assigned: from 0 to 58. For each task, a certain number is provided: from 1 to 5. The more complex it is, the more points the graduate receives. Evaluating the results of writing an essay is carried out differently. For this, students can be awarded from 0 to 24 points.

Then the primary scores are converted into test scores. They are indicated in the Unified State Examination certificate. It is this result that is taken into account when entering universities.

How many points do you need to score to talk about passing the test? It should be borne in mind that students who have received a certificate cannot always apply for admission to universities. We can talk about successful mastery of the basic general education program and the possibility of entering a university only if the student scores 16 primary or 36 test points, respectively. will be taken into account in the student's ranking in the list of applicants. The average passing score is at least 65-75. Graduates planning to enter leading universities in Moscow and other cities of our country should take into account the fact that in this case this figure will be higher.

The translation of Unified State Exam scores in the Russian language is carried out using a special scale. It is worth considering that the algorithm is adjusted from year to year.
