But all parents have the opportunity to arrange an unforgettable and vibrant holiday for their child and his guests, which will not only last shared memory, but also fits into the budget.

To arrange a magical birthday for your child, first of all, you need:

  1. Choose a general theme for the holiday. This may be your favorite cartoon, which will immediately determine color scheme, holiday attributes and even a child’s outfit. Today, “Frozen”, “Minions”, “Smeshariki” are especially popular, and classic Disney princesses or comics also remain relevant. The theme of the holiday can be a hobby or the child’s desire for some kind of work;
  2. Choose a room in which a children's table will be organized. This can be the children's room itself, the living room and the kitchen, if its size allows.
  3. Create a menu with suitable recipes. The table must have an assortment of sweets and all sorts of healthy goodies that will not be difficult for children - mini-formats, tartlets, skewers, canapés are desirable;
  4. Prepare small gifts for little guests. These can be toys in the general theme of the holiday, sweet gifts, etc. It’s not bad if children can use them immediately during the celebration, and then take them with them - magic wands, pipes, headbands or decorations, etc. You can put them on plates.

The main thing is to start preparing for a children's party as early as possible, so that you have time to check the selected recipes, use or make your own decor, and find everything you need. At the same time, you need to remember that the children's table is not the place for spicy, fatty, overly salted and smoked dishes, plus it is important to find out in advance from the parents of the little guests whether they are allergic to any foods and exclude them from the menu.

There is no need to come up with overly sophisticated dishes, because children may refuse them - they are happy to eat only well-known, traditional food. And under no circumstances should you try to force one of the children to eat, because such behavior from adults can lead to hysterics, which will ruin the entire holiday.

Table decoration for a children's birthday

  2. Decorating the space around and above the table. These can be “Happy Birthday!” garlands, paper decorations, paper or fabric backgrounds, figurines, flowers, etc.;
  3. Selecting the right cookware. You will definitely need plates, cutlery, glasses, shelves for sweets and fruits, a cake stand, vases for sweets, and trays and more dishes may also come in handy. But for reasons of convenience and safety, it is better to choose paper or plastic dishes, which can be made in the colors of the holiday. No - universal white will do;
  4. Making a festive tablecloth. It should also fit into the color scheme, so you should not purchase a tablecloth separately for one holiday. It could even be a disposable oilcloth if it suits the theme, but even the simplest white tablecloth can easily be decorated with frills or a garland (using a stapler), or painted watercolor paints by adding inscriptions and drawings;

You don’t need a special occasion to pamper your loved one. However, there is one special day in the year when you want to give it your all: the date of his birth. And, of course, on this day we try to pamper the birthday boy in every possible way: prepare the most delicious treats and delicious desserts for him.

It is customary to celebrate the annual birth of the New Year with pomp and ceremony. But there is another date, not celebrated on such a large scale, but no less important and significant for every person - one’s own birthday, the beginning of a personal New Year. On this day, every birthday person expects a holiday, a miracle, something special. And this is a great reason to show dear person all the power of your love.

On this day, friends and relatives warmly congratulate the birthday boy, gathering at the festive table. The culmination of the celebration is, of course, desserts. And the first thing a birthday is associated with is a traditional birthday cake decorated with candles.

Emperor cake

Of course, candles will transform any cake, even one bought at the nearest store. However, this is not at all the same. Birthday - special holiday, so desserts should be special for him. So it makes sense to take a swing at the emperor of confectionery - the famous Napoleon cake.

Such desserts are not for the lazy. To be able to proudly bring this luxurious work of culinary art into your living room, you will have to work hard. However, the trouble is worth it: puff pastries soaked in amazing butter cream- the most tender, melt-in-your-mouth pleasure. Desserts of this level always cause delight and admiration!

Creating this miracle is a long process, and therefore the cake must be prepared in advance: at least 24 hours in advance (or better yet, even a couple of days in advance). “Napoleon” needs to soak in properly.

Before storming the confectionery peak, you should prepare the necessary products.

To bake 4 cakes you will need:

  • flour - 350 g;
  • creamy margarine – 200 g;
  • water (cold) – 1/3 cup;
  • salt – ½ teaspoon;
  • vinegar 3.5% - 1 tablespoon.

Desserts (Napoleon cakes) cannot be prepared without custard. To create it you will need:

  • butter – 300 g;
  • flour – 1 tablespoon;
  • milk – 1.5 cups;
  • powdered sugar – 1 cup;
  • yolks – 2 – 3 pieces;
  • vanillin - sachet;
  • alcohol – 1 tablespoon (optional).

So, the products are prepared, let's start creating.

  1. Rub on coarse grater well-chilled margarine. Transfer to a large bowl. Add flour there too, very cold water, salt and vinegar. Chop the contents of the bowl with a knife until it becomes coarse sand. Quickly knead the dough. You should not knead it for a long time.
  2. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a layer. Fold in half and roll out again. It is advisable to repeat this operation 6 or 7 times. Admire the dough from the side - the layers that have formed should be clearly visible on it.
  3. Wrap the resulting dough in cling film and place it in the refrigerator to mature for 3 hours (never in the freezer!).
  4. Remove the dough from the refrigerator and divide it into 4 parts. We leave one on the table, while we put the rest in the refrigerator.
  5. Roll out the dough into a very thin layer (about 3 millimeters). After rolling the rolled out dough onto a rolling pin, transfer it to a baking sheet. It is best to cover it with baking paper. We prick the entire surface of the layer with a fork - this way it will not swell during baking. The oven should be preheated to 180 - 200 degrees. The cakes are baked quickly - 5 - 7 minutes. The main thing is to make sure that they don’t burn.
  6. We bake the rest of the cakes in the same way. Place on paper until completely cool.
  7. While the cakes are cooling, let's prepare the cream. To do this, dissolve the flour in cold milk, put it on low heat and cook until it reaches the consistency of thick sour cream, stirring constantly. Add the yolks and continue cooking until the mixture thickens. Remove the workpiece from the heat and cool.
  8. Bye the process is underway cool, mix softened butter, powdered sugar, vanillin and alcohol and grind everything thoroughly. You can use a mixer. Mix the resulting mass with the cooled yolk-flour mixture and beat thoroughly again. The cream is ready.
  9. Let's start assembling Napoleon. We cut the cooled cakes to the size of the dish (it is convenient to use scissors for this). Grease the first cake with cream, place the second one on it, and press lightly. And we do the same with the rest of the cakes. Sprinkle the top of the cake generously with the remaining crumbs after cutting. We put the created fairy tale in the refrigerator for at least a day. As already mentioned, such desserts require a long soaking time, so be patient.

So, congratulations: the most delicate holiday dessert is ready!

Yogurt fantasy

What other desserts are appropriate on the birthday boy’s table? Yes, in principle, any. The main thing is that they are prepared with desire and love.

Don't have time to tinker with Napoleon and your birthday is just around the corner? No problem! You can make an easy (both for the stomach and to make) yogurt cake. This masterpiece looks very elegant, and a refrigerator is enough to prepare it.

So let's get started. You will need:

  • kiwi – 5 – 6 pieces;
  • bananas – 2 pieces;
  • yogurt – 500 ml;
  • shortbread cookies – 200 g;
  • butter – 70 g;
  • sugar – 70 g;
  • gelatin – 4 teaspoons;
  • lemon juice – 1 tablespoon.

The cooking process is simple:

  1. Grind the cookies in any convenient way. Melt butter and mix with cookies. Place the resulting mass on the bottom of a springform pan lined with baking paper. Flatten and put in the refrigerator.
  2. Soak the gelatin in a small amount of water. Mix yogurt with sugar and finely chopped kiwi fruits. Cut the bananas into slices and place on top of the crust.
  3. Dissolve the gelatin in a water bath or in the microwave, cool slightly and mix with yogurt. Pour the resulting mass into the mold with the cake and place it in the refrigerator to harden.
  4. Decorate the finished cake with chopped kiwis.

Such desserts will especially please those who watch their figure.

Drink "Refreshing"

Drinks are also considered desserts, so don’t forget about them. If the feast has gone on for a long time, the “Refreshing” drink will help invigorate the guests.

To prepare it, you need to stock up on a liter of orange juice, a liter of sparkling water and a liter strong tea(about 7 spoons of tea leaves per 1 liter of boiling water). All ingredients should be kept in the refrigerator.

At the right moment, the preparation of the awakening drink occurs at lightning speed: each glass is filled one third with tea, then juice and, finally, mineral water. In addition, you can add a slice of lemon and a couple of pieces of sugar - for those with a sweet tooth.

And a video recipe for chocolate cake

In conclusion, I would like to add that, in general, it doesn’t matter what kind of desserts you prepare. The main thing is your attention, warmth and care. Only they can make the birthday boy’s main day of the year unforgettable!

How to set the table for a child's birthday

An important element is setting the table for a child's birthday. It is worth doing without lighted candles, fresh flowers with a strong aroma and easily breakable dishes. It’s worth making snacks that are easy to eat with your hands or a fork without a knife, without decorating them with small details. A buffet table set against the wall is ideal. Serve sandwiches and canapés on large trays and leave room in the room for outdoor games.

Decoration of children's dishes

An important part of the holiday menu is the decoration of children's dishes. It’s good to decorate sandwiches and tartlets with funny faces, animal faces or flowers. Salads should be decorated with strips of vegetables in the form of fireworks. Mashed potatoes can be tinted with beets or spinach and placed in the shape of a house or a car. If you have pastry umbrellas at your disposal, be sure to decorate the dessert bowls with them.

Decorating a children's table

Don’t lose sight of the design of the children’s table, which determines the mood of the holiday. Here are some ideas for a children's table from experienced mothers:

  • use a beautiful tablecloth with cartoon characters and the same napkins;
  • decorate disposable dishes with colored confetti, or serve all dishes in edible dishes - tartlets, on potato slices;
  • decorate the table surface with scattered candies, place a vase with lollipops;
  • For each guest, place a nameplate and tie it to the table balloon with a present.

Check out the options for each day.

Video

The choice of products for a children's birthday menu is very different from those that parents buy for adult parties. The children's menu should, first of all, be light, and the presentation should be original and interesting.

The best thing you can do when preparing a menu for a children's birthday is to involve your child in the cooking process.

Start with the dishes that the birthday person offers, then make your own suggestions.

When choosing recipes, think about how your baby can help you prepare them, and that the dish consists of simple and familiar ingredients.

Rules for choosing dishes

  • Don't mix too many different flavors.
  • Avoid spicy, salty, fried and overly sweet foods.
  • Do not apply to festive table fish with bones, peeled fruits, as well as berries and grapes - exclude anything that could cause a child to choke.
  • Serve meals in portions.
  • The dishes should be placed at a safe distance from the children’s play area. Serve treats in small portions, preferably in unbreakable containers.
  • Cut the pieces as much as possible and remove excess so that the eating process does not become complicated.

Products by age

Ages 1 year, 2 years, 3 years:

  • exclude everything that can cause allergies in children (honey, citrus fruits, berries);
  • do not treat you to heavy food;
  • Mushrooms, smoked meats and nuts should not be served.

Children's ages: 4 years, 5 years, 6 years:

  • at this age you can already serve boiled sausage and frankfurters, but smoked ones are not advisable;
  • no need to serve fish;
  • Don't take risks by serving exotic or out-of-season fruits.

After 7 years (8 years, 9 years, 10 years):

  • only now is it possible to treat children with bright juices;
  • it is possible to serve salads with beets;
  • maybe berry desserts.

For the little ones

The most demanding guests and birthday parties are children under 3 years old. There are many factors to keep in mind when preparing treats for these little ones. The most important thing is to remember that all children are different and if your baby is omnivorous and can do everything, this does not mean that his guests can also eat absolutely everything.

Acquaintances and simple products can be served in a beautiful festive decoration.

General rules:

  • All ingredients should be familiar to children.
  • Kids should also know the names of the dishes on the table.
  • Methods for eating most foods are best limited to the spoon.
  • It's great if you can eat with your hands.

It’s time to teach older children to be independent, including preparing their own food, albeit not so often, and even the simplest ones, but on their own. And if it’s also for your own celebration, it will be something to be proud of.

  1. Teaching a child to cook is very simple when there are such wonderful publications as: “Mom, give me an apron!” Recipes for independent children" from Katerina Dronova. An excellent quality book with beautiful illustrations and step by step recipes- both children and adults will like it. The recipes from the book are suitable for any occasion.
  2. The book “French Children Eat Everything” by Billon Le became a bestseller. And it should appeal to many parents who are still unfamiliar with it, those who want to unite their family around a common table, and teach their children to the dishes that adults themselves eat. A wonderful and correct philosophy, once parents realize it, they will no longer wonder what to prepare for their child’s birthday or on an ordinary day. In addition, the book contains recipes for delicious, healthy and varied dishes loved by French children.

Children's birthday table

A children's birthday table can be decorated with napkins, bright disposable tableware with your favorite cartoon characters, hang balloons and garlands around, prepare carnival costumes, and decorations for games. This design will make the holiday much more interesting. All this can be ordered in the online store.

Prepare competitions and games - a children's party should be active to make it fun. For example,

It would be better to make a children's buffet, then every child will be able to eat when they are hungry. All children together can only eat cake.

But also an experienced adult mother of two children. My son is 8, my daughter is 18, and during all this time I have spent many, many children’s parties at home.

I always cooked it myself, I share my experience.

Main principles

It's beautiful, but fast

One of the main mistakes of many mothers is choosing beautiful and complex canapés and sandwiches with a bunch of small details (ears, eyes, noses) that cannot be made the day before the holiday, and for which there is almost never enough time before the guests arrive. Everything looks cool in pictures on the Internet, but it’s incredibly difficult to replicate it with an inexperienced hand. For example, make one sandwich and put it on the plate. Children can put the eyes on their own sandwich.

It takes a very long time to make these penguins from olives, carrots and cheese. I checked!

It's common

Don't even argue. I had the opportunity to make sure that children did not like the new experimental salads. They are generally alarmed by a mixture of 3 or more products. Of course, you can cook something original; adult guests will eat it if necessary, but you must have “standard” chicken cutlets, mashed potatoes, baked goods with the usual fillings, etc. You can show your imagination when serving all these dishes.

It's not harmful

The Internet is full of battles in the comments of parents with different opinions. Some people think that it’s not scary to offer pizza, fries and hamburgers once a year, flavored with mayonnaise and ketchup. Others insist that food should not be harmful on any day of the year. Endless debate, I don't interfere. You should definitely avoid foods that are too fatty, salty, fried (in case one of your guests has pancreatic problems), soda, and other drinks with aggressive dyes.

Age appropriate

This, I think, is understandable. Even now, the article is read by parents of two- and ten-year-old children. Naturally, there are restrictions for each age. If guests from 2 to 10 years old gather for the holiday (this often happens at family events), it is better to prepare several options for dishes.

This can be eaten carefully

Yes, this is a problem. Children come to the holiday in lush snow-white lace or simply in expensive fashionable clothes. A drop of red juice or ketchup, smeared blue cream on a cake, berry stains, etc. often spoil all this beauty forever.

Lots of drinking water

Many children can only drink water. The sweet, sweet juice you prepared may make you even more thirsty. Be sure to label small bottles of water with different bright labels so that everyone knows “their water.” After active game program You want to drink a lot, make a sufficient supply.

Three rounds

Children don't like feasts. Most guests eat little and quickly. Let there be 2-3 approaches for 5-10 minutes. While the guests were getting ready, we had light snacks, then we played. Hot dish, more fun. Cake, everyone good evening, Goodbye. On home holiday You can allow such gastronomic breaks; no animator will rush you.

Constructor “Assemble canapes”

This is mine too personal experience. Once I saw enough of beautiful and tasty canapés, I decided to make 5 types of 20 pieces each for the children. The result was disastrous. My whole idea with a combination of cheeses, berries, grapes, ham with vegetables and fish with lemon failed.

Comments poured in: “I don’t eat bell peppers,” “Ugh, unhook the fish, I just want an olive,” “I’ll have blueberries, but I won’t have cheese,” etc. The adults then finished eating this disassembled “battlefield” with canapés.

I took the experience into account and next time offered empty skewers and small bowls with olives, cheese, slices of cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, lemon, slices of ham, chicken fillet, lettuce leaves and sprigs of herbs. More squares of white and black bread (3x3 cm).

It was a hit! You could fold your own canapé and give it to him unusual name. Teach children to skewer foods so as not to touch their hands on shared plates.

Main course

It’s difficult to write all the recipes here; I’ll give you a couple of ideas from my own experience.

Chicken skewers (cooked in a frying pan or in the oven)

This is my go-to dish. Many parents complain, but do not have time to try the kebabs themselves, since the children quickly eat everything. They are made first in a frying pan, then 30 minutes before serving - in the oven. It’s convenient for mom, since she doesn’t have to stand at the stove when guests gather, and preparations can be made in advance. Gentle marinade - sour cream, olive oil, lemon

Defrost the dough square. Cut the chicken fillet into pieces, beat it thinly, add salt and lightly pepper. We wrap a block of cheese in some pieces (this is for piglets), and put prunes in other chops.

Now we roll up those that with cheese, and the ball - with filling from prunes. If you are worried that not all children will like prunes, make them only with cheese.

Lightly roll out the puff pastry, cut into squares and wrap the meat tubes in it. We sculpt the ears and nose and tail separately and attach them to the “carcass”.

Roll out the other part of the puff pastry and cut into thin strips. We wrap it around the meat balls to form a ball.

Place them together on a baking sheet and brush generously with egg yolk. 45-50 minutes in the oven at 200 degrees (can be reduced to 180 at the end). What sweethearts... :)

Chicken cutlet balls

Previously, I made all sorts of hedgehog mice out of them, using pieces of different products. Then I got tired of it, I started sticking bright pictures on sticks (they are called “cupcake decorations”) based on the holiday theme or ordinary skewers. You can easily find and disney princesses, and pirates, and all sorts of different super-heroes. I had to print out Sherlock Holmes and attach it to toothpicks myself, but this can be done in advance.

My recipe: fry 2 onions in sunflower oil, combine with 1 kg of chicken fillet, add 100 g of soaked bread to 100 g of milk. Salt and pepper, put the minced meat in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Fry the balls over high heat until a crust forms, then finish in the oven for another 30 minutes.

Build your own hamburger with homemade patty

Holding a children's party on your own is incredibly difficult, so I personally rejoice at every way to entertain restless guests.

A five-minute master class on assembling a hamburger with your homemade round cutlet will definitely appeal. Here again it’s easy to cut off the whims “I don’t like tomatoes, pickles, onions, lettuce, cheese.” Let them do what they love. From buns and cutlets. Or vice versa, only with tomatoes and cheese)).

I buy ready-made (small) sesame buns; I don’t offer sauce and mayonnaise to little ones.

Small pies with different fillings

Same good idea, but it’s better to make pies baked, not fried. The size of the pies is “one tooth”. My guests, even the most capricious ones, gladly agree to a pie with potatoes and a pie with meat. Experiments with salted cottage cheese and herbs, cabbage and fish pies are successful with parents, but children do not like them.

Take the time to make pies of different shapes so that appearance it was possible to distinguish what kind of filling the “flying saucer” or “boomerang” had.

I always make pancakes too. I suggest adults wrap salmon or caviar; kids eat it with sour cream.

Fruits and berries

Cups with berries

This is usually placed on a table with sweets (there is no Russian name, we borrow the English candy bar). Just plastic or cardboard cups with a mixture of washed berries. It is better, of course, not to give it to children under 5 years old, they will get dirty.

Just place them before the start of the holiday, as this is the first thing children grab. Everyone likes small individual portions of beautiful berries, there is no strength to hold on. Let them eat something hot first!

Fruit hedgehogs

With this name and this example, I encourage you to organize a simple culinary master class. Everyone always gets a hedgehog, you can even take it home for your mother in a small gift bag. You don’t have to eat right away, just use fun at the moment when you need to pacify overexcited guests.

Sweets

There is no consensus here either. Of course, for everyone beautiful photos children's birthdays - mind-blowing cakes with fondant to order. They are not only beautiful, but also tasty, with natural dyes, with low-fat yogurt instead of cream, etc.

My ideas are for ardent opponents of such cakes. And in general, any products with cream at children's parties.

Casserole with sour cream

Naturally, it is prepared for very young guests (2-3 years old). Instead of cake layers there are layers of casserole. Cream - fresh sour cream with sugar. Decorations: fresh berries and colored sprinkles.

Meringue

It’s safe and can be prepared in advance. There are few secrets there: cold whites, into which not a single drop of yolk has fallen, whisk mixer at medium speed (it won’t work with a blender), add sugar gradually. Beat the whites into a strong foam (4 egg whites, 1 cup sugar), place on oiled paper with a spoon or pastry bag, bake for 1.5-2 hours at 100 degrees. The oven must be turned on in advance. You can tint part of the protein with beet juice or natural dyes in bags.
