Theodore Tiron (from Triodi), voice 2 – 4. “Glory” – martyr. Theodora, tone 6: “The enemy used the vessel...”, “And now” - dogmatist, tone 8: “King of Heaven...”.

Entrance with censer. "Quiet Light" Reading the parimia of the Triodion (prokeimenon of the 1st parimia, tone 5: “The Lord will hear you in the day of sorrow”; verse: “The name of the God of Jacob will protect you.” Prokeimenon of the 2nd parimia, tone 6: “Ascend, O Lord, by Thy power...”; verse: “Lord, by Thy power...”) and the reading of the three parimations of the Theotokos (icons) (with the usual exclamations: “Wisdom” and “Let us embrace”). “May my prayer be corrected...” and the rest of the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts (according to custom).

After the prayer behind the pulpit, the priest and the deacon go to the table prepared on the salt, on which there is a dish with koliv, and perform rite of prayer singing Great Martyr Theodore Tiron. Reader – Psalm 142: “Lord, hear my prayer...”. On “God the Lord” - the troparion of the great martyr. Theodora, voice 2: “The great faith of correction...”. “Glory” is the same troparion, “And now” is the Theotokos, the voice is the same: “Everything is more than meaning...”. Reader – Psalm 50. During the psalm, censing is performed. According to custom, the deacon burns incense around the table with koliv and the clergy.

Note. The Charter gives the following instructions regarding incense: “...Psalm 50. And the priest censes the kolivo, and the abbot, and the faces, according to rank" (Typikon, chapter 49, "On the heel of the evening").

According to Psalm 50, the canon of the Great Martyr is sung. Theodora, tone 8, on 4 (without irmos). The singers sing the chants: “Holy Great Martyr Theodore, pray to God for us” to the first two troparions of the canon, then “Glory”, “And now”. The priest, according to custom, reads the troparia of the canon.

According to the 6th song - “Lord, have mercy” (three times), “Glory, and now” - the kontakion of the great martyr. Theodora, voice 8th.

According to the 9th canto, instead of “Worthy” - the irmos of the 9th canto: “You, Unartful Mother...”.

Reader: Trisagion. According to “Our Father...” - the exclamation: “For Thy is the Kingdom...” and the troparion of the martyr. Theodora, voice 2: “The great faith of correction...”. "Glory" - Kontakion of the Great Martyr. Theodora, voice 8: “Faith of Christ...”, “And now” - Theotokos, the same voice: “Like the Intercession...”. Deacon: “Let us pray to the Lord.” Singers: “Lord, have mercy.”

Priest reads prayer over koliv (cf.: Service Book, Rite of Blessing Koliva):

Who perfected all things by Thy word, O Lord, and commanded the earth to bring forth the manifold fruits of the earth for our enjoyment and food, Whose seed were the three youths and Daniel, who were in Babylon, sweet-nourished luminaries I'm showy! Himself, the All-merciful King, bless these seeds with various fruits and sanctify those who eat from them, for for Your glory and in honor of the holy great martyr Theodore Tiron this was offered by Your servants, and in Remembrance in the pious faith of those who have passed away. Grant, O Blessed One, to those who have beautified this and the memory of those who perform all, even for the salvation of petitions, and of Your eternal blessings, enjoyment, through the prayers of the Most Pure Lady of our Mother of God and the Ever-Virgin Mary, and the Holy Great Martyr Theodore Tiron, whose memory we celebrate, and all Your saints. For You are the One who bless and sanctify all things, O our God, and to You we send glory, to the Beginning Father, with Your Only Begotten Son, and Your Most Holy, and Good, and Life-giving Spirit, today and forever and ever.

Singers: "Amen." “Be the name of the Lord...” (three times). [“Glory, even now.”] Psalm 33: “I will bless the Lord...” Dismissal as usual.

Note. “And we enter into the meal and eat wine and oil for the sake of the saint. We received this in the Lavra of our revered father Savva, and the monk of the reverend Great Euthymius: but we do not do this now for honesty, but we eat jam with plums without oil, and armea : Those who choose, eat dry food, just as on Wednesday” (Typikon, ch. 49, “On Friday evening”).

In 2019, the forefeast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary falls on Saturday of the 4th week. In this case, the biblical songs at Matins on Saturday of the 4th week will not be sung in the Lenten version.

This recommendation this year also applies to Friday of the 4th week of Lent, since in 2019 the Saturday of the 4th week falls on the forefeast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Wed: Typikon, March 24, 3rd and 4th “see”.

In the service of the Octoechos 1–7 voices, the 1st martyr is in the 1st group of stichera on “Lord, I cried” (see in the Octoechos on Friday evening); the other three are martyred - in the 2nd group there is stichera. In the service of the 8th tone, the arrangement of the texts is different: in the 1st group of stichera on “Lord, I cried” there are 3 martyrdoms, but there is no fourth martyrdom (the 2nd group of stichera does not contain martyrdoms). Thus, when performing the service of the Octoechos in the 8th tone, one should sing the stichera of the 1st group of martyrs, repeating the first of them: “Martyrs of the Lord...”.

See Typikon, February 24, 9th Markov chapter; Menaion, March 9, 2nd Markov chapter; Wed Typikon, March 9, 1st Markov chapter; February 24, Mark 8, Temple chapters 31 and 32.

The Menaion contains two services in honor of the icon of the Mother of God, called “Sovereign”: 1) “Celebration of the Most Holy Theotokos in honor of Her miraculous icon, called “Sovereign””, and 2) “Another service for the appearance of the icon of the Most Holy Master chitsa of our Mother of God “Sovereign.”

In “Services of the first week of Great Lent” (M., 1984. P. 214), before the 142nd psalm the exclamation is indicated: “Blessed is our God...” and “Come, let us worship...” (3).

1 Liturgical INSTRUCTIONS for 07 for clergy PUBLISHING HOUSE OF THE MOSCOW PATRIARCHY OF THE RUSSIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH MOSCOW 06

2 UDC 5 BBK 86 7 B7 B7 With blessing His Holiness Patriarch Moscow and all Rus' KIRILL Liturgical instructions for 07 year. For priests and church ministers. M.: Publishing House of the Moscow Russian Patriarchate Orthodox Church, With. ISBN Publishing House of the Moscow Patriarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church, 06 FROM THE PUBLISHING HOUSE The liturgical life of the Orthodox Church is regulated by its Church Charter, recorded in a special book called the Typikon, or Charter. The Typikon in its instructions defines how throughout church year, day after day, during divine services, in a certain order and in the required quantity, the prayers and chants contained in the liturgical books. These are the truly inspired words in which the prominent Russian liturgist and hagiologist St. Athanasius (Sakharov), Bishop of Kovrov, describes the significance of the Typikon in the life of the Church: “The name of our Church Charter TYPIKON characterizes its content and meaning. Typikon from the Greek word τύπος type, image, form, sample, ideal. An ideal is something most perfect, most sublime, always attracting, as if beckoning, but never fully achievable. Our Typicon is a statement of the ideal order of worship, using as its model the ancient, many-hour service of the great fathers and ascetics. Nowadays, only in a few monasteries and churches does worship, in one way or another, only approach its ideal order set out in the Typikon. Despite this, we do not have any abbreviated Typikon. And this circumstance has great moral and educational significance. Our Typikon, in the form in which it exists, is, first of all, a constant reminder of the ideal Orthodox worship. And the fact that our worship and our prayer are so far from the ideal outlined by the Typikon should arouse in us a feeling of humble awareness of our imperfection. Our Typikon is milestones on the path of prayer, showing us the trodden paths that directly lead to the goal, paths trodden and trampled by holy saints and our pious ancestors. Why deviate onto other paths, why look for new ones, when along these, as already known, it is safer, easier, faster, with less difficulty, you can enter into the work of all previous generations, reap what has already been sown by others, by the way, for us. There is nothing accidental in the divine service, in the Charter of the Orthodox Church; everything in it is strictly thought out. And everything, even the smallest details, have their own, often very deep meaning, impart their own flavor to individual ranks and successions, and give them a special touching quality.

3 From the Publisher From the Publisher 5 and touching Rearranging one part of the service in place of another, introducing inappropriate additions, omitting even small details, all this violates the overall harmony of the service. Our worship is a highly artistic work, a complex mechanism of delicate work. And if sometimes the meaning of this or that detail of the service is unclear to us, this does not mean that it does not exist at all. It only means that we don’t yet know how to understand it, we don’t know. We must find it and try to understand it for ourselves. From what has been said, it follows how important it is for Orthodox Christians to obey the Church Charter in the matter of prayer and worship. It is important and necessary to perform the smallest details of church rites and services exactly as they are set out in the Charter, for only then will the divine service have the exact meaning that the Holy Church gives it.” “Divine service instructions” are not intended to replace the Church Charter Typikon, but to assist in using it, especially in cases where difficulties may arise during the performance of divine services. In the “Liturgical Instructions” in the table of contents of each day, the names of saints and church memories are indicated according to the following principle: The first paragraph is the names of saints or feasts that have services in the Menaion or Triodion; the procedure for performing these services is set out in the “Liturgical Instructions”.. The second paragraph is the names of saints or feasts that have services in the Menaion, the performance of which is left to the discretion of the rector.. The third paragraph is the names of saints or feasts that have not complete services in the Menaion, but separate texts ( troparia, kontakion, etc.). JANUARY (Cor., 0) Also, brethren, stand and keep the traditions, and learn from them, or in words, or our message. (Sol., 5). Saturday before Epiphany. Circumcision of the Lord. St. Basil the Great, Archbishop. Caesarea and Cappadocia. Note. The Typikon says: “If there is a church of St. Basil, we keep a vigil.” The custom of holding an all-night vigil on this day has become firmly established in church practice. The entire service is shown in the Menaion and Typikon. According to the Rules, it is necessary to perform the 9th hour and small vespers before the all-night vigil. 9th hour according to custom (on it the troparion and kontakion of the Nativity of Christ mark the end of the day of giving the Nativity). At Little Vespers, the curtain of the royal doors is not supposed to be opened. According to the Typicon, Little Vespers is performed by one priest without a deacon. Priest (in front of the royal doors): “Blessed is our God.” Reader: "Amen." “Come, let us worship” (three times) and reads the opening psalm (0th): “Bless the Lord, my soul” (the prayers of light are not read by the priest), at the end: “Glory, and now,” “Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, glory to Thee, O God” (three times), “Lord, have mercy” (three times), “Glory, and now.” And immediately “Lord, I have cried” is sung. (The Great Litany is not pronounced, there is no kathisma or small litany after it. Every “Lord, I have cried” is not performed.) On “Lord, I have cried” the saint’s stichera, voice th (the first stichera twice). “Glory” of the saint, voice: “Those who are from nature”, “And now” of the holiday (optional). No entry. The reader reads: “Quiet Light.” Priest: “Let’s take a look.” "Peace to all". "Wisdom" and the prokeimenon of the day. At the end of the singing of the prokeme, the following is read: “Grant, O Lord,” then immediately, without the litany of petition and the prayer of adoration, the stichera on the stichera are sung. On the poem there are stichera for the feast of the saint, voice th (with its own refrains). “Glory, even now” of the holiday, the same voice: “Carnal circumcision.” According to the Trisagion troparion of the saint, voice th. “Glory, even now” is the troparion of the holiday, the same voice. Further on in the series there is no mention of the 9th hour, but according to the Rule, it is inadmissibly performed before Vespers or, when required, before fine services. Further in the series, Little Vespers is not mentioned, but according to the Rules it is inadmissibly performed before the all-night vigil, which begins Great Vespers y. Wed: Typikon, ch. 5. See: Rozanov V. Divine Service Charter of the Orthodox Church: Experience in an explanatory presentation of the order of worship of the Orthodox Church. M., 90. P. 5.

6 0 January, January, At the end of the singing of the troparions, the priest in front of the royal doors pronounces a small special litany: “Have mercy on us, O God” (four petitions). Exclamation: “For He is Merciful and Lover of Humanity.” Chorus: "Amen." Priest: “Glory to Thee, O Christ God.” Chorus: “Glory, even now,” “Lord, have mercy” (three times), “Bless.” The priest pronounces a small dismissal, after which the choir sings many years. At the great vespers “Blessed is the man” - th antiphon. On “Lord, I cried” stichera for 8: the holiday, tone 8 (each stichera twice), and stichera of the saint, tone 8 (first stichera twice). “Glory” of the saint, voice 8: “Wisdom was the zealot”, “And now” of the holiday, the same voice: “The Savior descended.” Entrance with censer. Prokeimenon of the day. Parimi`i. A special litany. “Vouchsafe, Lord.” Litany of petition and prayer of adoration. On the lithia the stichera of the temple and the stichera of the saint, voice th. “Glory” of the saint, tone 6: “Grace poured out”, “And now” of the holiday, tone 8: “The Savior descended.” On the poem are the stichera of the saint, voice -th and voice -th (with their own refrains). “Glory” of the saint, tone 6: “Grace to the miracle”, “And now” of the holiday, tone 8: “The All-Good God is not ashamed” 5. Troparion of the saint according to the Trisagion, tone (twice), and the troparion of the holiday, the same voice (once). Wed: Ibid. P. 7; Liturgical instructions for the year 950. M., 99. Ch.. P. 5; Part 5. There is also an opinion that on “And now” the stichera on “Lord, I have cried” of Great Vespers can also be sung by the dogmatist of the given voice, i.e. the dogmatist, the voice: “And to You” `di...’, while the holiday chant, tone 8: “The Savior descended”, is omitted (cf.: Liturgical instructions for the year 956. M., 955. P. 5; Typikon, Markov chapter under January , -e “see” under October). At Great Vespers, the special litany begins with the petition “Rcem all” and is pronounced before “Vouchsafe, O Lord” (after the parimia or after the prokemene). If Vespers is daily, then the special litany begins with the petition “Have mercy on us, O God,” and is said at the end of Vespers after the singing of troparions. The prayer of adoration at Vespers and Matins always follows the petitionary litany, so it is not indicated later after the litany. The Church Charter does not know vigils without litia. Litiya is performed with the royal doors closed in the vestibule of the temple. First, the stichera of the temple is sung, one of the self-vocal stichera at the direction of the rector from among the evening lithium stichera of the temple saint (as a rule, the first), or the one that is sung according to the 50th psalm at polyeleos matins. In the event that the temple saint does not have the specified hymns (for example, a sixfold service), a stichera with “Lord, I cried” or from another cycle of stichera may be sung. If the temple is the Lord's or the Theotokos, then finding the indicated hymns will not be difficult, since any of the twelve feasts, as well as the feast in honor of the great saint, has lithium stichera, and at Matins there is a stichera according to the 50th psalm. In the event that the service is not performed in the main chapel (from which the temple received its name), but in a side chapel, you need to sing the stichera of the holiday or saint in whose honor the chapel is consecrated, where the all-night vigil is celebrated, and then the Liturgy. In accordance with the instructions of the Typicon, after the stichera of the temple, other chants can be performed, which sometimes can even replace the temple stichera. 5 In the Typikon, this stichera has a different edition: “The Most Good God is not ashamed.” Blessing of bread, wheat, wine and oil. The end of Great Vespers at the vigil according to custom. At Matins on “God is the Lord,” the troparion of the holiday, voice th (twice). “Glory” is the troparion of the saint, the same voice, “And now” the troparion of the holiday, the same voice. Kathismas 6th and 7th. Small litanies. Sedalny Minea. Polyeleos. According to the Typikon, magnification 5 only of the saint: “We magnify you, Father Basil, and honor your holy memory, for you pray for us Christ our God " The Greatness is sung with selected verses from the psalms of David, both choirs sing alternately (these psalms are placed in the Followed Psalter and in Irmology). Sedalen of the saint in polyeleos, tone 8: “By the power of the word.” “Glory” from the seat of the saint according to the polyeleos, the same voice: “Grace to the words”, “And now” from the seat of the holiday, the same voice: “Lord of all.” Powerful antiphon of the th voice. The saint's prokeimenon, voice: “My mouth speaks wisdom, and the teaching of my heart speaks to my understanding”; verse: “Hear this, all you nations, inspire, all you who live in the world.” Gospel John, count. 6. According to the 50th psalm: “Glory” “Through the prayers of St. Basil.” Stichera of the saint, tone 6: “Grace is poured out.” Canons 6: the holiday, voice 1st, with irmos on 6 (irmos twice), and the saint, the same voice, on 8 7. Note. One of the main requirements of the Church Charter in relation to the troparia of the canon, as well as in relation to stichera and other hymns, is that if there are fewer hymns in the service than how many should be performed, then it is impossible to sing “Blessed and The mud of the bread of the gift is different: rekshe (that is, comp.), set up a fire pit for those who drink with water, and drive away shaking, and every ailment, and every disease is healed: and by this they drive away the mice from their lives and drive them away to commit dirty tricks” (Typikon, ch., -e “see”). At the all-night vigil, after “Now you forgive”, troparions and prayers for the blessing of the loaves, the following is sung three times: “Be the name of the Lord” and the psalm: “I will bless the Lord” before the words: “Do not be deprived of any good." The priest, blessing the people, says from the pulpit: “The blessing of the Lord is upon you.” Choir: “Amen,” and, according to custom, the Six Psalms begin. In the Typikon there is no indication of the opening of the royal doors when singing troparions according to “Now you let us go” (see: Typikon, ch.). The chopping on the 7th kathisma is not performed, since it is transferred to the polyeleos (cf.: Typikon, chapter 5). The procedure for performing polyeleos is set out in the th chapter of the Typikon, the last “see”. 5 At the polyeleos service on weekdays and Saturdays, only the icon of the saint or holiday for which the glorification is sung is placed on the lectern. 6 Usually where strict compliance church traditions, the first face always begins the odd songs in the canon (-th, -th, 5th, 7th and 9th), and the second face always starts the even-numbered songs (-th, when it happens, -th, 6th and 8- Yu). The readers of the canon should act accordingly if there are two of them during its antiphonal performance (see the note of St. Athanasius (Sakharov) in the Menaion-Mart, part, p. 5). 7 In those parish churches where strict compliance with the requirements of the Charter seems difficult, the order of execution of the canon is subject to change. Here it is appropriate to recall the instructions of the Local Council. (Department “On worship, preaching and the temple”): “At least four troparions should be read from each song of the canon” (Scientific notes of the Russian Orthodox University of the Apostle John the Theologian. Issue. M., 995. P. 86). Singing katavasiya is mandatory.

7 January, January, or after reading everything once, start again from the first, the entire series of them and repeat until the number assigned by the Charter is completed, but you should calculate in advance how many times each chant should be repeated, and only after singing or reading each chant the prescribed number of times, move on to the next one. A chant, performed the appropriate number of times, cannot be repeated in the same row, unless there are deliberate instructions for this from the Charter. Thus, if, for example, with four chants they need to be performed in 6, then you cannot first perform all the chants once, and then repeat the first one again and then the second, but you must first perform the first chant twice, then also the second twice chant and then the third and fourth once each (see the note of St. Athanasius (Sakharov) in the Menaion-Mart, part, p. 5). Biblical songs “We sing to the Lord.” Catavasia of the irmos of the canons of the feast of the Epiphany: “The depths have opened there is a bottom” and “The sea is moving.” According to the th song of the kontakion of the holiday, the th voice; Sedal of the Saint, tone 8 (twice). “Glory, even now” is the sedal of the holiday, the voice is: “For He is the abyss.” According to the 6th song, the kontakion and ikos of the saint, voice th. On the 9th song, we don’t sing “The Most Honest”, but we sing the choruses of the Feast of the Circumcision and the Saint. The deacon (or priest) sings the second chorus: “Glorify, my soul, according to the law of the flesh of the circumcised Lord.” -th face of Irmos: “Even before the sun.” The th face repeats the same chorus and irmos. -th face “Magnify, my soul, on this day I accept circumcision.” Reader of the troparion: “Exceeding the limits.” th face the same chorus. Reader of the troparion: “Passed the limits.” -th image “Today the Lord is circumcised.” Reader of the troparion: “Come, O glorious Lords.” According to the Church Charter, the canon at Matins throughout the year, with the exception of Passion and Easter weeks , should be combined with the singing of biblical verses and prophetic songs. Unfortunately, this statutory requirement is now almost completely forgotten. In our country, prophetic songs are sung only on the weekday days of the Holy Pentecost, and during the rest of the year, the troparia of the canon, instead of verses of prophetic songs, are preceded by ordinary prayer refrains (see the note of St. Athanasius (Sakharov) in the Menaion-Mart, part, p. 6) . However, at present, in monastic and parish churches there is a desire to fulfill the Typikon’s injunction to sing the canon with biblical songs (placed in Irmologiya). In those churches where this instruction remains difficult to fulfill, it is permissible to sing the canon with the refrains to the canon of Circumcision: “Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee,” to the canon of St. Basil the Great: “Holy Father Basil, pray to God for us.” When the singing of “The Most Honest” is canceled, the exclamation: “Let us exalt the Mother of God and the Mother of Light in the hymns” is not pronounced (cf. Nikolsky K., Archpriest. A manual for the study of the Charter of Divine Services of the Orthodox Church. St. Petersburg. , 907. P. 0). If the 9th canticle of the canon is sung with choruses, then the 1st chorus, according to tradition, is proclaimed by the deacon (or priest) performing incense. Each morning at Matins on the 9th song of the canon is never canceled (cf.: Menaion, September). In those churches where the singing of the canon is reduced, it is still necessary to sing all the choruses to the corresponding troparions of the canon once (for example, by combining choruses in two before the last troparion of the canon of the holiday and the first troparion of the canon of the saint). -th image “Today the Lord is circumcised in the flesh.” Reader of the troparion: “Come, O glorious Lords.” -th face “Magnify, my soul, in all hierarchs.” Reader of the troparion of the saint's canon: “The First Shepherd.” th face the same chorus. Reader of the troparion of the saint's canon: “The First Shepherd.” -th face “Magnify, my soul, the universe.” Reader of the troparion of the saint's canon: “The First Shepherd.” th face the same chorus. Reader of the troparion of the saint's canon: “The Church's all-sacred.” -th face “Magnify, my soul, from Caesarea.” Reader of the troparion of the saint's canon: “The Church's all-sacred.” th face the same chorus. Reader of the troparion of the saint’s canon: “The Apostles’ seat.” -th face “Magnify, my soul, decorate” (instead of “Glory”). Reader of the troparion of the saint’s canon: “The Apostles’ seat.” -th face “Magnify, my soul, Most Honest” (instead of “And now”). Reader of the troparion of the saint’s canon: “Presented by the waters.” Both faces together are the first chorus of the Circumcision: “Glorify, my soul, according to the law of the flesh” and the chaos of the Irmos canon of the Epiphany: “Every tongue is perplexed.” Then both faces together are the last chorus of the Mother of God: “Glorify, my soul, the Most Honest of the Heavenly Armies, the Most Pure Virgin Mary” and the confusion of the Irmos canon of the Epiphany: “Oh, more than the mind.” According to the 9th song, “It is worthy to eat” is not sung. Saint's Luminary (twice). “Glory, even now” are the luminaries of the holiday. "Every Breath" and Psalms of Praise. On praising the stichera of the holiday and the saint, tone 5th 6 (the first stichera twice). “Glory” of the saint, tone 6: “Grace poured out”, “And now” of the holiday, tone 8: “The Savior descended.” Great doxology. According to the Trisagion troparion of the saint, voice th. “Glory, even now” is the troparion of the holiday, the same voice. Psalms of praise are sung to the appropriate mark, in this case “at 6.” According to the Rules, psalms of praise must be sung if there are stichera on the praises. According to established practice, the first two verses (“Every breath”) are sung by the choir, the rest are read by the reader. The modern edition of the Typikon says nothing about the opening of the royal doors for the great doxology (see Typikon, ch.). The custom of opening the royal doors for the great doxology is an echo of ancient practice, when after the great doxology the entrance was made with the Gospel, and it was read (see, for example, the Church Charter of the 6th year, September 8, Chapter Mark). Since the entrance with the Gospel at the end of the great doxology is no longer performed, it would be most correct to open the royal doors only for the dismissal of Matins, as indicated in the old editions of the Typikon (see: Skaballanovich M.N. Explanatory Typikon. Issue II. Ch. . P. 6). The custom of reading the Gospel after the Great Doxology originates from the Charter of the Great Church (cf.: Typikon, Chapter 9, “On Holy and Great Saturday”).

8 January, January 5 Dismissal: “Who on this day was circumcised in the flesh for the sake of our salvation, Christ, our True God, through the prayers of His Most Pure Mother, the saints of our father Basil the Great, Archbishop of Caesarea and Cappadocia, whose memory we now commemorate, and all the saints” (the saint of the temple and local saints are not commemorated). The troparion of the holiday is on the clock. "Glory" troparion of the saint. The kontakia of the holiday and the saint are read alternately. Note. According to tradition, throughout the year at the th hour after the prayer “Christ, the True Light...” the kontakion “For the Forged Voyevo...” is sung. On the twelve feasts and their after-feasts, this kontakion is usually replaced by the kontakion of the holiday; on the after-feast of Easter (from the Week of St. Thomas until the celebration of Easter), the kontakion of Easter is sung: “Even to the grave...”. Liturgy of January St. Basil the Great. At the Liturgy, the blessed ones of the holiday, hymn 1 (with irmos), and the saint, hymn 6 (without irmos). At the entrance “into the holy places is Diven.” At the entrance, the troparion of the holiday, the troparion of the saint. “Glory” is the kontakion of the saint, “And now” is the kontakion of the holiday. Alleluia of the holiday (voice 8, verse: “Shepherd of Israel”), and the saint (verse: “Mouth of the righteous”). Note. When singing the Creed, it is advisable to break the text into musical sections in accordance with the members of the Creed. It is preferable to sing like this: “He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried. / And he rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures.” Instead of “It is worthy to eat...” “He rejoices in You...”. Participated in the holiday: “Praise the Lord,” and the saint: “In eternal memory.” Dismissal, see above, at Matins.. Week 0 after Pentecost, before Epiphany. Voice 5th. Forefeast of Epiphany. In those churches where the prescription of the Charter to combine the canon with the singing of biblical prophetic songs remains difficult to fulfill, verses from songs are permissible Holy Scripture replace with special refrains, in accordance with the content of the canon. According to the schiarchim. John (Maslova), the canon of the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord should be sung with the refrain: “Most Holy Theotokos, save us” ( John (Maslov), schiarchim. Lectures on Liturgics. M., 2002. P. 95). There is also a tradition of singing the Canon of the Presentation with the refrain: “Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee.”

According to tradition, the 1st chorus is sung by a priest or deacon.

“Come, let us worship...” is not sung, except at hierarchal services (cf.: Nikolsky K., prot. A guide to the study of the Charter of Divine Services of the Orthodox Church. St. Petersburg, 1907. pp. 380-383).

The service of the post-feast of the Presentation of the Lord is canceled on February 5, on the Ecumenical Parental (Meat-Eating) Saturday (see: Typikon, February 2, 9th Mark chapter, 4th “see”).

“Suppose [the feast of the Presentation of the Lord] happens on Wednesday, or Thursday, or Friday, or on Saturday of meat-eating week: and it is given on Tuesday of cheese week” (see: Typikon, February 9, 2nd Markov chapter, 2nd “ “Look”, “Decree on the feast of the Presentation of the Lord, on what day will the Presentation take place, or on what day will it be given away”).
