How to color a peacock

Even a child can draw a peacock using our lesson. preschool age. But painting a peacock is not so easy. The main colors are blue and green. Blue for the body and green for the tail feathers. The designs on the peacock's tail can be decorated with any colors of your choice.

It is best to paint a drawn peacock with gouache, or at least with finger paints if the child is very small.

A peacock is a bird, almost a chicken, since it is a chicken breed!

Some interesting things about peacocks:

  • If anyone still doesn’t know: only the males are beautiful, and the females are very gray and very ordinary. They spread their tails to attract their betrothed.
  • All the beauty is in the peacock’s “big-eyed” tail. If you think this is a tail, you are mistaken!
  • Looking at this bird, it seems that “there must be an angelic voice.” But I want to disappoint you. Only very big admirers of this bird are ready to listen to such heart-rending screams.

Everyone treats the peacock differently.

Peacock in different countries:

  1. India. Here the peacock is sacred. He walks wherever he wants, even in the rice fields. Near the house they hunt young cobras. This is why they are loved. They love peacocks, not cobras.
  2. China. They eat with pleasure. At the same time, they think that meat will have a positive effect on the eyes if they suddenly become sick.
  3. Ancient Rome Nothing special: they eat fried ones with pleasure.
  4. Medieval Europe. They continue the traditions of the Romans, chewing meat on holidays.
  5. Russia. And here they draw him!

So we get down to it peacock drawing!

How to draw a peacock with a pencil step by step

Step one: In the very center of the sheet, draw a large oval. Let's step back up and show a small circle - the head. From the body downwards we will draw several long and curving lines. Step two Connect the head to the body. The neck should be thin at the head and gradually widen downwards. Let's draw the wing. It ends at the tail. From the head up draw a peacock feather. To the left of the body we have a curl . Step Three Let's draw the heads: beak, eye, flowing curls from the head. Let's fluff up the tail, adding more lines there. Let's formalize it. There are beautiful curls on both sides of the body. Step Four Let's turn our drawing into an original, creative one, so to speak. Let's carefully inscribe our peacock into a figure similar to a hieroglyph. Graceful lines ending in either a point or a rounded curl. Step five Let's shade our figure. With assertive, strong pressure from the pencil. Almost done. You can add colors and you will have a colorful peacock! By the way, there are a couple more unusual lessons similar in style:

In this lesson we will look at how to draw a real male peacock with a pencil step by step with an open beautiful tail. Let's take this photo as a basis. It may seem that drawing a peacock is difficult but it is not, by following the steps you can do it without any problem.

Draw the head, beak and eye of the bird, then the body. All this is drawn on a small scale, because... there will be a very large tail that will not fit on the sheet, look at the pictures below, where the peacock has already been drawn.

Draw the paws and the wavy shape on top - these are a lot of new feathers on the back that have not yet grown.

Draw ovals along the drawn lines. Erase these lines, we don't need them. The number of ovals is as you see fit, by eye.

One oval represents the end of each feather, where the beautiful multi-colored shape is, look at the photo again if you don't know what I mean. Connect each of them with feathers, you can draw them out, but it’s too long, I didn’t. Then we draw the ends of the other feathers (ovals) more or less symmetrically, but not necessarily, and again, as it will be more convenient for you, it is not possible to copy such an amount exactly.

Each of these ovals has a black speck.

Then we draw, like scales, a lot of growing feathers on the back and from each oval there are feather shafts, as you can see, I did not finish them, because... they get lost in each other.

You can also finish drawing, or not, the feathers (or rather the feather fans) in separate straight lines.

I also forgot in the previous stages to draw its decoration on the peacock’s head - it’s just straight lines with dots at the end. To add volume, you can also shade the bird’s body and feathers on and around the back in a darker tone.
