Pattaya is on fire! The brightest, liveliest and most shocking resort in Thailand. Sea, beaches, hotels, shopping. Photo and video. Nightclubs, shows and entertainment in Pattaya.

  • Tours for May to Thailand
  • Last minute tours to Thailand

Pattaya is alive. This is the most dynamic, vibrant and full-blooded resort in Thailand. Pattaya can make you fall in love with yourself for life, you can not understand it and obsessively talk over and over again about the disadvantages of the trip, but you can treat it correctly and in return get exactly what you want: a quiet holiday in a secluded hotel, the crazy nightlife of Walking Street , amazing Thai temples, decent sea, exciting excursions, delicious and unusual food. The main thing is to clearly and intelligently formulate your desires, and Pattaya will help them come true.

In addition, the resort is very affordable in terms of prices, which makes it more accessible than Phuket or Koh Samui, and is conveniently located just a couple of hours drive from Bangkok with its airports and numerous low-cost airlines. This allows you to take off at any time and fly to the other end of Thailand (or even to a new country) for an amount equivalent to have a nice dinner with drinks in a not very pretentious restaurant.

Districts of Pattaya

Tourist Pattaya lies between the sea and the Sukhumvit Road and is conveniently “cut” through streets into several large areas, so there shouldn’t be any special problems with orientation. In addition, on every corner there are free advertising brochures with more or less intelligible maps.

All above North Pattaya Rd is conditional North Pattaya. There is not much entertainment here, but there are enough local shops, inexpensive cafes and budget accommodation in the area with the wonderful name of Naklya to Russian ears, as well as more expensive ones in the Wongamat microdistrict, interesting for the small private beaches of coastal hotels. An important point on the map is the wooden Temple of Truth.

A piece of the resort pie between North and South Pattaya Rd - Central Pattaya. Noisy, fun, drunk, crowded - these are both pros and cons, to each their own. Beach and Second Rd run parallel to the sea - streets with a bunch of shops, bars, cafes, massage parlors, there will always be inexpensive accommodation, a variety of drinks, food, company and entertainment. The beach is not attractive, the water is dirty, there is not enough space. Central Pattaya is suitable for desperate party-goers and those thirsting for a special nightlife Walking street, which, in fact, is the main attraction of the area.

The area below South Pattaya Rd is South Pattaya. In it, tourists are interested in coastal Pratamnak and Jomtien. These are fairly quiet areas with a focus on family recreation and appropriate entertainment and infrastructure. The beaches and water are cleaner, there is much less debauchery, the price tag in hotels is higher, but this is a reasonable price to pay for the advantages listed above.

Another option is to live off the Sukhumvit highway. Here you can rent very decent housing for little money, eat inexpensively and tasty during the day in establishments that are not aimed at “Russian-tourists”, and at night you can sleep peacefully, without tossing and turning because of the noise of a neighboring disco or neighbors who have been out for a walk. The downside is the distance, you will have to rent a bike or car (and give up alcohol) or include a permanent “taxi” item in your budget.

What to try

It so happened that Pattaya is no longer quite a Thai city, flows of tourists from different countries, an endless series of those who are trying to make money on them - and also from different countries, mixing linguistic and cultural boundaries into a strange vinaigrette. This is especially noticeable in the local cuisine. In cafes and restaurants, national delicacies are reshaped to suit the requirements of capricious “packagers” or boring white pensioners, spicy becomes bland, sour becomes sweet, oriental becomes European, and cheap becomes expensive. This is especially true for establishments with Russian letters on the menu.

But this multinational cocktail also has its advantages. For example, Indian cuisine is presented very well in Pattaya - a good opportunity to discover wonderful flatbreads and gravy sauces. You see several groups of Indians at the tables of an Indian cafe - feel free to stop and start studying the mysterious menu.

If you want to try Thai food, then again focus on the natives, refuse the restaurant and buy “pla pao” fish rolled in salt, stuffed with aromatic herbs and baked on coals right in front of you right on the street, try it lightly fried and pressed through a special press “crop-crop” squid, and for dessert, order “roti” or “kanom-buang” pancakes stuffed with mango, coconut, banana and other delicacies from a mobile merchant-cook on a moped.

And of course, Pattaya would not be itself without stalls with fried cockroaches, crickets, caterpillars, larvae and the like, once crawling reptiles. They cannot be called a purely local dish; more often than not, they are an attraction for tourists. But why not?

Cafes and restaurants in Pattaya

The resort has many cafes and restaurants: from Asian cuisine to quality French cuisine. There are restaurants with exotic dishes: rare seafood, ostrich, crocodile.

Catering establishments in Pattaya can be roughly divided into nondescript eateries for locals, inexpensive street cafes for everyone, and everything else designed for tourists, rich and not so rich. The first ones may be frightened by excessive simplicity, not the most ideal cleanliness and the menu is only in Thai. Their advantages are real Thai food, amazing prices and the hospitality of the owners. A truly hearty lunch without alcohol in such a place will cost 100-120 THB.

Behind soft drink in an inexpensive street cafe for tourists and middle-class Thais they ask for 30-80 THB, not the most fancy dish with rice or noodles will cost 40-80 THB, the famous tom yum can cost 80-200 THB per plate, but, unfortunately, the relationship The difference between the quality of soup and its price is not always clear. The average bill in the food court for a set of first, second and salad is 150-200 THB. Often this is a good opportunity to get acquainted with local cuisine without pointing your finger at the sky: the composition of the dish, its price and appearance introduce clear and convenient pictures above the distribution lines.

Tourist establishments offer cuisine from different countries, many specialize in European and Thai dishes; the price for a serving of rice with chicken or pork can start from 120-160 THB and up to astronomical amounts in really cool and rated restaurants.

Entertainment and attractions in Pattaya

Many consider the main entertainment of Pattaya to be Walking street, bars and the thriving sex industry of all colors, directions and styles around them, but fortunately, the resort is not at all limited to this “hot” set and offers a whole scattering of events and excursions for every taste.

The majestic and vibrant Thai temples will help you stop and think. Perhaps the most popular (how could it be otherwise, if it is visible from everywhere?) is the local Big Buddha or Big Buddha Hill. Here you can get acquainted with a whole complex of religious monuments and architectural compositions, receive the blessing of the monks and clear your karma, buy souvenirs and contribute to the maintenance of the temple by donating a small amount. And at the top of the hill it is a little cooler and fresher - also a reason to take an excursion. Another famous cult object is the wooden Temple of Truth, standing on Cape Rachvate in the Naklua region. There is a garden and a cafe all around, you can ride elephants or quad bikes, admire the sea from the cape, in a word - spend the whole day leisurely and measuredly.

The complete opposite of temples, but still familiar with local culture, will be a visit to the Tiffany show. Only those who have seen it with their own eyes have the right to snort condemningly or shake their heads in disbelief. They say that even the toughest Chelyabinsk and Tagil workers came out of the famous transvestite cabaret performance with happy faces and whistling their favorite tunes. It's hard to imagine a better advertisement. Oh, and Tiffany is also in the top ten best shows world according to Travel.com magazine.

Mini Siam Park will help you see the whole world in 3 hours, which has collected on its territory miniature copies of famous sights from America, Asia, Asia and Europe: Egyptian pyramids, Eiffel Tower, St. Basil's Cathedral. If all this has already been examined in the original, then it is worth paying attention to the beautiful copies of the most famous Thai temples and pagodas. Miniature lovers should also enjoy the collection of the Bottle Museum. In just a few rooms there are about 300 bottles with replicas of landmarks painstakingly assembled inside them. It is also very convenient that the museum is located next to the Mini Siam park.

Pattaya for children

Perhaps, Pattaya will not get rid of the “resort for adults” stamp for a long time, but serious work is being done in this direction, and a holiday with a child here is no longer perceived as something extravagant and unacceptable.

In May 2016, Thailand's largest water park, RamaYana, opened 30 km south of Pattaya. More than 50 water complexes and attractions await guests of all ages, many of which, according to park representatives, have no analogues in Southeast Asia. You can order a transfer to the water park directly on the entertainment establishment’s website. Considering the size of the park, it is better to go straight to the opening.

With older kids, you can go to the Dream World amusement park, which is located on the northern outskirts of Bangkok. It takes about 2 hours to get here from Pattaya; tours to Dream World are offered by many of the resort's excursion agencies. There is no analogue in Pattaya itself yet.

Other entertainment for children is getting to know the living world of Thailand. One of the most important zoos in the country, Khao Kheow, is located north of Pattaya. It will take at least a day to explore the famous open zoo, where you can walk next to the animals and feed them. But it is better to be prepared for the request to visit the menagerie again. South of Pattaya, guests will find the Nong Nooch Tropical Park.

Every year tourists in Thailand have the same problems! They get into the same troubles in the same places, and then shout the guard on the forums. Long-livers answer: “What were you waiting for? It's always like that there"

For some reason, our tourists have the impression that Thailand is a very safe country. My first housemate generally insisted that here you can leave a running bike on the street, but don’t close the door to the house. I partially agree with him, because Thailand is much safer than Russia. Seriously, at 4 am in Pattaya on a dark street I feel calmer than during the day in St. Petersburg Kupchino.

But nevertheless, once every 2 weeks in the most popular group On VKontakte there is a post about Pattaya “Attention! I was robbed” and describe the same scheme, in the same place. And this post immediately has a bunch of identical comments: “Yes, this has already been discussed a hundred times,” “Oh, well, you need to know such things,” “I had a case there too...”, etc.

Therefore, I will share with you those scams that are practiced in Thailand and Pattaya, as well as those places that are better to avoid.

The most dangerous place in Pattaya is the Ambassador Pattaya Hotel

Ambassador is one of the largest and most popular hotels among Russians in Pattaya. The hotel has its own huge territory, at the exit there is a large number of inexpensive cafes and souvenir shops, and opposite is the large entertainment district of Mimosa. Everything would be fine, but it is all located on a busy highway. The worst thing there is the pedestrian crossing across the highway! Every week a person is killed at this crossing. I am not kidding! This transition is a branch of the devil. Imagine that in Moscow a zebra crossing would be allowed across the Moscow Ring Road, but without traffic lights or any identification marks at all. I hated this transition every time we drove along this highway. You’re driving calmly for 100 km in a dense stream, and then the whole stream suddenly begins to slow down, as if in an accident: and pedestrians walked ahead without warning.

I ask you: Walk 200 meters - there is an overpass! The pedestrian crossing near Ambmassador is the most dangerous place in Pattaya.

Photo of transition from Google maps, an overpass can be seen in the distance. The traffic light never works!

Batman's house

There is one creepy, but very interesting place in Pattaya. Calls Batman's house. This used to be the trashiest club in Pattaya. It was opened by a Taiwanese with gold teeth using money stolen from the mafia. And according to rumors, a complete ata-tai was going on there! Child abuse and drug sales are the very tip of the iceberg. In the end, it turned out to be too much even for Pattaya and after 10 months the club was closed and the owner disappeared.

Now the club is inhabited by illegal migrants, drug addicts and prostitutes. Although the house has quite interesting view— it is not recommended to enter it; it is best to simply ride past on a bike.

Robbery - Thieves on motorbikes

All Asians ride motorbikes very well, and they start riding openly on the streets at the age of 14, and the words “rules”, “logic”, “safety” are not about them at all. A lot of these youngsters make their living as theft. Those. During your walk, a motorbike with two youngsters is attached to you and at a certain moment they drive up very close - one snatches the bag, and the second revives on the gas. This situation in a tuk-tuk is very dangerous when it stops at a traffic light, and thieves drive up from behind and break the chain. If the chain is strong, it can seriously damage your neck.

Most often this situation happens with tourists, because... they carry with them large sums money. Losing money in this case is just a frustration, but Many people carry passports in their purses, which is a big mistake.

Attacks - Bastards on motorbikes

As I already wrote in the post about ““, now in Pattaya there has grown up a generation of children who were born from whores. Sorry, but there is no other way to say it. Because these are gangs of young bastards without morals and fear, but with the desire to take other people's money.

These are not cowardly thieves who snatch a bag and leave, these are real bandits. They also track their prey, but if they fail to snatch the bag, they do not run away, but stop and attack. Sometimes with a knife, sometimes they throw stones at your head. But more often they throw the victim off the motorbike (when the victim is driving), i.e. they simply catch up and kick the bike down, and while the victim comes to his senses, they search his pockets.

Teenagers aged 14-18 also do this; they are still afraid of attacking men or couples. But attacks on single women driving a bike occur once a month.

Theft

There is a lot of theft in Thailand! They steal bikes in hotels, things on the beach, they steal from apartments and houses! Every year similar topics appear on the forums! In Pattaya, helmets are most often stolen from shopping centers when the owners simply leave them on the seat and do not fasten them, and bikes are also stolen there (It takes no more than 40 seconds to steal any bike). The same goes for houses in Thai villages - they are surrounded regularly, even with cameras and security, because... The cameras most often do not work, and there is an unguarded loophole into the village.

Choose condos with access cards and houses in well-guarded villages. Otherwise, keep your money in a safe and your jewelry in safe deposit boxes at the bank. By the way, V, this will help with the theft of a motorbike and the theft of a handbag, just throw it inside and install an application that can track the loss. The Thais don’t yet know what it is, so the chance of returning things is 99%.

Cheating - Jet Skiing

One of the most popular beach scams in Pattaya. So popular that jet ski owners were called the mafia. How it all happens: You rent a jet ski, and then either when you return it, you find a large scratch on the bottom, or during the ride the wiring comes off and the motorcycle stalls. The seller starts demanding money - from 1000 to 5000 baht, and if you don’t immediately reach into your wallet, then more and more locals appear from somewhere. About 10 locals instantly gather around you, yelling, shaking their fists, threatening the police, and you are standing on vacation, your wife and child are vacationing nearby and you don’t want all these problems at all. Therefore, tourists almost always pay a “ransom”. If you go to the island of Koh Larn, then there is a 90% chance that you will be scammed like that, because... There are no police on the beaches and no one will really help you.

There are cases when people still drag bike owners to the police, but the outcome is not clear and very much depends on the policeman. They may force you to pay, or they may send the owner of the motorbike. Remember that no matter how menacingly the scooter owners wave their fists, they will not attack you (the main thing is not to be rude to them), because the police know everything about their scams and if they touch a tourist, their shop will immediately close. Therefore, option 3: go to the police and hope for luck, or pay these extortionists, or politely send everyone away and go home (they will not leave you until the ship to Pattaya).

And the best thing in Pattaya is not to take a jet ski at all!

Fraud with bank cards (interesting case)

Scrimming or data theft bank cards, in Thailand it’s almost like a national pastime, because... Street cameras have not yet been developed here, and the IT police work very poorly, so scammers from all over the world come here. Cases of theft are completely different, the most unusual I have seen are the following: A thief gets on a night bus who is watching foreigners, their targets are tourists who have just arrived and are traveling full of money. When the tourist falls asleep, the thief takes cards and cash out of his bag, asks him to stop the bus and transfers into the prepared car (She either follows him from Bangkok itself, or waits at the appointed place), then the car vomits to the nearest electronics store and empties it overnight cards, the tourist discovers the loss only in the morning, or on the highway at night, where he can do nothing.

Deception - Rent a motorbike on a whip.

I heard about such a scam most often on the beach (beach street in Pattaya), where many drunk tourists take bikes for a ride. There are several places there where they rent very cool sports bikes or Harleys. The deposit is only a passport. The scam is the same as with a jet ski, you are either shown a large scratch somewhere under the bottom, or this scratch is slightly painted over and the paint will immediately fall off when riding. In general, do not take a bike to Bichka! Better google who Auntie Tiom is (not to be confused with “Russian Thai Tom”). Auntie Tiem is a very kind and good Thai woman who will never cheat and rents motorbikes in Pattaya.

Kathoi attacks

Katoyami in Thailand are called transvestites. Those. boys who became girls. For many, katoi is still exotic, and unpleasant at that. The next time you decide to tease a tranny, remember that this is, first of all, a man who is on hormonal pills, who is insulted during the day, and does things at night that no one else can healthy man will endure. Therefore, katoeys very often attack tourists. These include robberies and banal fights.

In general, all long-lived people advise staying away from the cathoi. It never ends well.

Deception - Changing money in a taxi

The point is that when dropping you off, the taxi driver stops very poorly, most often at some busy intersection, or right in front of a traffic light, in general, so that they start honking at him, and you are in a hurry. You give the taxi driver the money, turn to the exit, but they don’t let you get out - the taxi driver shows the money in his hand, and there is 100 or 200 baht missing. And recently a smiling taxi driver with the same smile and bewilderment asks you to pay the bill, dissatisfied beeps come from behind and you are completely confused. Most often, people think that they really mixed up the new money, but in fact the taxi driver replaced them.
Shake your finger at the taxi driver, say “Ay-ay-ay” and get out. The taxi driver knows that he cheated and no one will chase you

Deception - Attraction is closed

This is found everywhere in Asia! If you take a taxi to some attraction, the taxi driver will tell you that it is closed, but for a small fee he will take you around amazing places that are usually not shown to tourists.

I get caught all the time. We smile and tell the taxi driver that you will go and have a look anyway =)

Deception - Selling drugs

For selling drugs in Thailand the death penalty! But for many years now there has been a boy walking on the beach street in Pattaya who, with an unequivocal gesture, offers to buy “dope” from him. Periodically, some unafraid idiot buys from him, then the guy steps into the shadows, takes out his phone and calls the police, to whom he turns over this idiot for a reward. If you decide to buy drugs anywhere in Thailand, there is a 99% chance that you will be handed over to the police.

Welcome to the land of smiles

Despite all this, Thailand remains as friendly and smiling! what is described above can be found in any other country in the world, but I wrote this so that you would be more careful! After Russian tensions, ours are too relaxed in Thailand and become victims of scammers! Be kind to people, but know where they want to deceive you!

Have a nice holiday 😉

It is considered the most active and popular resort among young people in the country. There are many bars, discos, restaurants and cafes to suit every taste. In this city it is possible to combine all types of recreation, as well as go on interesting excursions and see various sights. But before you go on vacation to this Thai resort, it is better to find out in advance all the useful information about it and where Pattaya is located.

Pattaya is located in the southeastern part of Thailand and is washed by the waters of the Gulf of Thailand.

is located 165 kilometers from this resort town. There are 113 thousand registered residents living here, but their real number exceeds half a million, taking into account vacationers at the most. In 2005, the record for the influx of tourists was broken; their number during this period amounted to 5.5 million.

Although Pattaya is located in the so-called Industrial Region of the kingdom, industry here is poorly developed. This city is predominantly considered the tourist center of Thailand.

Where is Pattaya on the map To understand what natural conditions vacationers will expect in a given city, you need to look at where Pattaya is located on the map. This resort is located in the subequatorial climate zone, so the average annual temperature mainly varies from 25 to 32°C

About twenty years ago, few people knew where Pattaya was on the world map. More recently, it was still a small village, which was able to turn into a real dream city in such a short period of time. Today it is considered that the best on the entire east coast of Thailand, and its proximity to Bangkok, which is only a couple of hours away, makes Pattaya even more attractive for tourists.

Not far from this city there is Ko Lan island, which can be reached by finding out where the pier in Pattaya is located, from where ferries depart to various destinations. This place is called Bali Hai and is located not far from the famous street Walking Street.

A tourist map of Pattaya in Russian will give you the opportunity to better navigate the territory of this Thai resort; for this, you can study it in detail before the trip. It shows that the entire city is divided into several districts.

    • The first one is Naklua or as many Russian-speaking tourists also call it - North Pattaya. There is a calmer and more peaceful atmosphere here without various go-go dancing establishments and night discos, and the beaches and sea in this part of the city are a little cleaner.
    • A noisier and more densely populated area is Central Pattaya . This is where various entertainment venues, massage parlors, tour desks and shops are located. Due to the overabundance of people, this part of the resort is very noisy and crowded.
    • The next area is South Pattaya. It is in this place that the well-known Walking Street is located. From this part of the city it is very convenient to get to various other islands and beaches.
    • The greenest and quietest area of Pattaya is considered Pratamnak, or as it is also called – Hill, since it is located on an elevated area. There is a walking path that runs along the entire sea, along which you can reach Jomtien beach. There is no public transport in this area and the tourist infrastructure is not particularly developed, but some tourists choose it for their holiday because of its beautiful nature and a small number of vacationers.

In case someone decides to ask: Where is Pattaya? Many of those who have already been lucky enough to visit this exotic resort will say that this is where there is a clean and gentle sea, bright sun and snow-white beaches, and a lot of entertainment and an atmosphere of carefree fun reigns all year round. So, anyone who chooses this resort town in Thailand for their vacation will certainly not go wrong in their choice.

The sights of Pattaya are amazing and accessible to any tourist. You will want to see some things in Pattaya on your own, but somewhere else, on the contrary, it is more profitable to go with a tour. In any case, for convenience of choice, I wrote this article in which you will find all the most interesting attractions of Pattaya and a map in Russian, find out the entrance prices, and how to get to them. Plan in advance what to see in Pattaya when you come on vacation.

Please note that most titles are clickable. That is, by clicking on the title link, you will be taken to an article describing this attraction.

Sights of Pattaya and what to see in Pattaya

Observation platforms

The Big Buddha and Wat Phra Khao Yai Temple is located on Pratumnak Hill, at an altitude of 120 meters. It was not chosen by chance. You will have to climb 120 steps to clear your karma and get to the observation deck.
At the foot of the temple there is a Chinese park dedicated to Lao Tzu and a statue of the goddess of mercy Guan Yin. It is customary for her to tell her about her failures and ask for help in business and love.
Speaking of magic and help. Right next to the steps, for 100 baht, Thais sell sparrows in cages, which are usually released into the wild after climbing onto the observation deck. Before releasing the birds, you should mentally make a wish.
To attract wealth and money, at the lookout you need to find the Chinese god Hotei (with a fat belly) and try to throw a coin into his navel. Judging by the shabby belly, there are a lot of people who want to get rich quickly!

How to get?

If you are vacationing on Pratumnak, you can easily reach it on foot. A visit to the Big Buddha is also included in the free sightseeing tour.
Big Buddha on the map:

If you want to do beautiful photos as a souvenir, drink delicious coffee and enjoy the views - come to Pratumnak Hill. There are 3 good viewing platforms here. I have already described the first one - at the big Buddha,
the second is located almost opposite the entrance to the Royal Cliff Hotel.

Huge inscription - Pattaya is business card city, which is on any postcard. At this observation point you can see the Gulf of Thailand, the Bali Hai pier, there are benches nearby Gym open air.

In order to get here, you need to walk up the hill from the tour policy booth and the rocking chair on the street. On Pratamnak there is an intersection from which “rays” diverge. One leads to the big Buddha, the second to the observation deck at the admiral.
The climb is quite steep, but worth it. You can get there on foot, by bike or by car.

The views of Pattaya and the bay are simply the best in the city! And as you know, all the best things are free.

Also here, from morning until 6 pm, my favorite coffee shop, Coffe Break, is open, where you can not only drink coffee at a communist price, but also admire the beautiful views as much as you like.

Pattaya has many great hotels with stunning views.
The best panoramic view, of course, is from the Hillton Hotel, which rises above the Festival shopping center in the very center.

For those who don’t know, in the bar, from 17 to 19 daily, happy hours, where you can get 2 for the price of one cocktail. A great opportunity to admire the view of Pattaya from the 32nd floor and the time is perfect - the sunsets in the city are incredible.

Farms with animals in Pattaya

You can see all the farms and zoos in Pattaya either independently or with a guided tour. If you have a Thai driver's license and transport, it may work out cheaper on your own; if not, it's better to buy a tour, the prices are reasonable.

In my opinion, the best farm with animals is located 10 km from Pattaya. You can't get there by public transport; he doesn't go there.
On the sheep farm there are not only sheep, but also a new bird park, a magical town with fairy-tale characters, catamarans, cafes, many other animals that you can feed by hand. As well as a trampoline, a Ferris wheel and other entertainment.

Entrance to the farm - 50 baht, feeding, entrance to the bird park, magic town - for an additional fee. fee.

With a tour of the sheep farm - 600 baht for adults and 400 for children (90-120cm).

Sheep farm on the map:

For those boys who are fans of horses and cowboys and girls who love the cartoon Little Pony. The park is designed in this theme. Many horses live here and a very cool cowboy show with horse tricks and fire is shown several times a day. Children (and adults too) are absolutely delighted.

Entrance on your own is a little expensive - 400 baht.
Included in several children's excursions or as an independent “dish” for 600 baht with transfer.

Good options for getting out for a walk with the kids. There are almost no animals on the Greta farm now (only rabbits, parrots and swans), but there is a playground and a children's room (100 baht entrance).
Entry is free.

Vander Farm is a place a couple of kilometers from Greta, where you can take a walk with your children, feed animals and birds, and sit in a cafe.
Entry is free.

Swiss Farm is a typical Thai farm with beautiful interiors, animals you can feed, a coffee shop and a number of other entertainments.
Entrance - 180 baht for adults and 90 for children.

Swiss farm - Swiss farm in Pattaya photo

You can only get to all these farms on your own.

If I were choosing which of these farms to go to with my children, I would choose not just one farm at a time, but the “Children's Adventures” excursion, which includes visits to the Teddy Bear Museum, a sheep farm and a visit to the Pippo Pony Club.
Price - 1000 adults and 700 children.

Pattaya Zoos

The best zoo in Pattaya is, of course, the Khao Kheow Open Zoo. Located 45 km from Pattaya, half-day excursions and evening safaris are available there.

You can feed all the animals (and there are more than a hundred species) and take photos with them. Rare animals include koalas, binturongs, tapirs and others.

There are shows - bathing elephants, animal shows, feeding penguins and birds.

tapir in Khao Kheo

If you go on your own, the entrance price is about 300 baht + 50 baht for car entry.
With a tour, the price is 600 baht including round-trip transfer, tickets to the show and movement around the park.

The new tiger zoo in Pattaya is an opportunity to interact with real tigers and take photos with them right in the enclosure. Do not be afraid, tigers have been raised for generations by professional breeders, who not only carefully raise them without the use of special means, but are also with you when you visit these felines.
The difference between this tiger zoo and the tiger park in Sriracha is that the tigers here are well-groomed, not drugged, well-fed and happy.

In this tiger zoo you can interact with baby tigers who are only 1.5-2 months old, with teenage tigers and of course with adult tigers.

They take you there on an excursion, it comes as part of the Tiger Zoo + Nong Nooch Garden and costs only 900 baht. Or get there yourself.
In any case, it is worth noting that photos and communication with tigers are always for an additional fee and are NOT included in the price of the excursion.

I perfectly understand people who come to Pattaya on vacation and do not want to overpay 2-3 times for excursions offered by the tour operator. And there are so many street agencies that your eyes run wide and you don’t know who to turn to so as not to be deceived and get an honest ride.
Therefore, if you want, write in the comments, I will share the contacts of the travel agency with which we travel ourselves and recommend to friends. I am confident in the quality of their services and prices, because I heard only rave reviews from all the readers who vacationed with them.

As it is also called “crocodile”, it is also worth a visit. If you are by car or bike, you can easily get there yourself.

Photo Pattaya - crocodile farm

Here is the crocodile farm on the map:

If there is no transport, don't worry. The price of the guided tour is the same as the entrance price, but you will be picked up from your hotel and brought back.

Price - 500 baht

At the crocodile farm you will see all kinds of crocodiles, alligators and shows with them. You can feed the animals and see the park of million-year-old stones.
Those who want to taste the crocodile can also join in.

There is a good children's playground on site.

Shows and entertainment

It’s simply unthinkable to come to Thailand and not attend at least a couple of local shows!

Recently, the Kaan show, incredible in scale and expense, appeared in Pattaya.

If you haven't read it, I recommend reading it

There is nothing like it anywhere in the world. If you have the opportunity to go, I recommend it.
Prices for visiting depend on the zone and start from 2,400 baht.

The most popular shows in Pattaya featuring transvestites:

Alcazar, Tiffany and Colosseum

There is no big difference between them, but the Colosseum is newer, larger and “richer”.

By price:

Alcazar - 600
Tiffany - 650
Colosseum – 500

If you live in the center of Pattaya, then you can walk to the Alcazar and Tiffany show yourself. They are held several times a day.
The Colosseum is located on Tepprasit Street, next to the cheapest food market in the city.

Also in Pattaya there are shows for very adults: the big eye show and the X-show.

X-show - 450
Big eye - 550.

Gardens and parks of Pattaya

if you love beautiful gardens, walk a lot and want to enjoy the beauty of the local tropical nature, then in Pattaya you should go to the famous Nong Nooch Park.

The newest water park, which is among the best in the world and is considered No. 1 in Asia according to Tripadviser.

You can get there on your own using your own transport or by ordering a transfer from the water park on their website.
Usually the price is the same as with a guided tour, so decide for yourself.
They often offer discounts and promotions on Thai driving licenses for residents (business visa and student visa holders).

You need to go there for the whole day in the morning. Everyone likes it, even very small children, for whom there is a separate children's area.
Among the advantages are inexpensive and tasty food on site, separate “boar” zones, free photos of your races by e-mail and paid framed photos (300 baht) from a local photographer.

Price of excursion to Ramayana - 1250/1100

This aqua couple is already 4 years old, which of course makes him a little tired. Of the minuses, some slides are often closed and do not compensate for this glaring fact.
On the plus side, there is a surfing area that teenagers love.

I would also add as a disadvantage the expensive food and drinks on site, but the food is tasteless and the drinks too.

Plus, there is evening skiing, when the main part of the water park is closed, but a children's area, surfing and swimming in the waves are left. We were there for the promotion and we liked it.

Price - 1350/1250

Museums and temples of Pattaya

Strangely enough, there are a lot of museums and temples in Pattaya. They are of course inferior to the Louvre and Tretyakov Gallery, but at a beach resort this is forgivable.

In my opinion, worth a visit:

A new gallery-interactive museum dedicated to the works of Van Gogh, Monet and Renoir.
In it you can “open” canvases by throwing balls at them, get acquainted with the work of great artists and a description of their life path, watch many great paintings that are broadcast using the latest projectors on the walls and ceiling.

Van Gogh in Pattaya - Art Gallery Hello Van Gogh!

This museum will appeal to both adults and children, as you can lie around, eat and drink, take photographs, and simply enjoy painting to the accompaniment of classical music.

The Hello Van Gogh gallery is located on the Sukhumvit highway. You can take a white tuk-tuk for 20 baht one way and the same way back.
Entrance to the gallery is 300 baht.

Or go there as part of the Luxury of Siam excursion. It includes a visit not only to the Van Gogh Gallery, but also to the Palace of the Chicken King + show, which also deserves attention.
Price - 1200 baht.

Rippley's Museum - Believe It or Not

An entertainment attraction located on the second floor of the Royal Garden shopping center in the center of Pattaya.
You can get there by tuk tuk for 10 baht from Jomtien, Naklua and other areas.

In addition to this museum, there is a horror room, a wax museum and other entertainment.

Teddy Bear Museum

The Teddy Bear Museum is in constant demand among all categories of tourists. Bears from different countries are carefully collected here, in a variety of images and situations.
In my opinion, the entry price is too high, but you can go once.
The price on your own is 500 baht.
With an excursion - 1000/700 according to the Children's Adventures program.

Located on Beach Road in the heart of Pattaya:

It is difficult to answer the question of which massage parlor in Pattaya is the best, because there is none. At the same time, there are more than a thousand massage parlors in the city and it’s worth going to any nearest one.

The main rules that should be followed in order not to get into trouble.

Do not go to massage parlors on the mean streets - Volkin Street, in the alleys of Boys Town and neighboring ones, unless of course you want to get a massage "continued."

Choose a massage parlor that is literally prettier. My experience suggests that the cleaner, more well-groomed, and more beautiful the salon, the more carefully they select staff and treat clients. At the same time, the prices there will be the same as everywhere else: 200 baht for Thai massage and foot massage, 300 baht for oil massage, etc.

Take a stronger aunt or uncle as your masseuse. Express your wishes before the session. Don't worry, they don't speak English well, so sign language will come in handy.

If you have skin diseases, pregnancy, or any other conditions, it is better not to go or warn the massage therapist.

If you really liked the massage, it’s not a sin to leave a tip. The usual tip in this case is 50-100 baht. You should not give in coins; it is perceived as humiliation.

Spa salons and saunas

There are spa salons in Pattaya, there is no point in describing them all. The most expensive ones are those at hotels. Prices for services in them tend to reach outer space.
If you want to get a quality massage or spa service, there are 2 Helth Land centers, one next to Thepprasit night market, right on Sukhumvit, and the second on North Street, next to the large Tesco Lotus.
They are popular among Thais, people sign up there, because if you come just like that, there may not be room.
Certified masters work there and this is certainly not a massage on Jomtien beach.
Prices are a little higher. Massage from 400 baht, spa programs from 1000 baht.

Jomtien Sauna in Pattaya

The most affordable sauna in Pattaya with an excellent steam room in which the wood was brought all the way from Finland.

The ambiance is very simple, but whoever comes to take a steam bath and not for glamor is just right.

There are two steam rooms - a Turkish hammam and a classic steam room.
The temperature is maintained, there are ice baths (really ice), an outdoor pool, massage, a cafe and exercise equipment.
Entrance is only 200 baht for the whole day. Open until 20 pm.

Sauna Mari Jari

Russian sauna, a whole complex on Wat Bun street. Entry price is 350 baht for the whole day, this includes access to the pool and steam rooms.
This is the most popular sauna among local Russian expats.

New Japanese spa sauna Yunomori Onsen Spa Pattaya

Yunomori Sauna Yunomori Onsen & Spa Pattaya is a magical place. The entrance price is a little higher compared to others - 450 baht per person, but the sauna is amazing.
In addition to the usual steam rooms, there are also Japanese ones and, in general, a new building, excellent service and many additional services.

Pattaya beaches

The beaches in the city are quite mediocre, so don't expect much from them.
Best beaches in Pattaya - the beach near the Asia Hotel on Pratumnak, (soi 4), beaches in the north near the Centara Hotel. In the south - at the Ambassador, Dor-Shada, Botany Beach hotels.
These beaches the better, that they usually have cleaner sand and water.
New sand was brought to Jomtien, but garbage is still thrown out of the sea, and it is also left behind by locals and tourists.
Swimming is possible, it differs from day to day and can be either clean or not so clean.

How to save on insurance?

Insurance abroad is required. Any treatment is very expensive and the only way do not pay out of pocket, choose an insurance policy in advance. We have been applying for many years on the website, which gives the best prices for insurance and selection along with registration takes only a couple of minutes.

I deliberately did not include in the list some popular attractions, the visit of which I consider optional. For example, the Mini Siam park, the local aquarium in Pattaya - they are morally and physically outdated and there is no point in going there.

Pattaya is the most popular resort in the East of Thailand, located on the mainland, on the shores of the Gulf of Thailand and one of the favorite cities among Russians, where you can relax, swim and sunbathe all year round.

The popularity of Pattaya is largely due to the fact that direct flights from Russia fly here, the nature is beautiful, excursions are varied, prices still remain affordable, despite the crisis and the fall of the ruble against the baht.

This guide to Pattaya will be useful to both experienced and novice travelers who, with the help of up-to-date information, will be able to prepare for the trip in advance in order to make their vacation quality and interesting without unnecessary overpayments.

Here is my many years of experience living in Pattaya, I hope it will be useful to you when planning your vacation.

Why Pattaya and not Phuket?

The main advantages of Pattaya:

- Low prices
— Great weather all year round
— Proximity to main attractions

In Pattaya the prices are really lower than in other resorts. On the islands, they cannot a priori be comparable to those on the mainland, so Phuket costs tourists 30-40% more than Pattaya in all aspects.

Thrives in Pattaya and surrounding areas farming. Delicious fruits are sold here cheaply all year round. Food, things, entertainment - everything is cheaper than at other resorts in Thailand.

The weather in Pattaya is stable. The average annual temperature is about 29-30 degrees, the sea water is 24-25 degrees, and there is less precipitation throughout the year than anywhere else.

In Pattaya there is no season of prolonged rains, hurricane downpours or monsoons, as in Phuket, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan or other islands. You can relax in Pattaya all year round, and in summer it is also half the price in winter.

Pattaya is an international resort; there are a lot of Russians here. So if you don't know English, it's not a problem. In Pattaya, knowledge of a foreign language is not required. Even signs in stores, price lists on excursions, and other necessary things are in Russian.

Pattaya is located so well that it is close to all the most interesting attractions, so the list of various excursions is simply huge.

Every year new interesting programs appear in Pattaya, museums and amphitheaters open, there is always something to see, even if you have already been here 20 times.

Pattaya is a resort for everyone, including families. You can come here with a baby and feel comfortable. Or, in search of adventure, go to the red light district “Walking Street” and also be satisfied with your vacation.
Literally everyone will find entertainment to their liking in Pattaya. They don’t judge you here, but accept you as you are. Sabai, Sanuk and Suai, have you heard?

I hope I convinced you that you made the right choice, now let's move on!

To Pattaya on your own or on a tour?

If you are traveling for 1-2 weeks, look at the tour packages. Most often this is the cheapest option, which includes: transfer, insurance, accommodation, flights and breakfasts.

The most useful sites in finding tours without overpayments and from reliable tour operators are aggregators and

It makes sense to go on your own if you haven’t found a cheap trip and you want to go for longer than a couple of weeks.

Prices for Tours to Pattaya Instructions - How to choose a last minute tour to Pattaya

On your own to Pattaya

Need to do:

— buy air tickets
— visa (if you are flying for a period longer than 1 month)
— take out insurance
— book accommodation
— order a transfer from the airport

Flights to Thailand

Flights to Thailand are cheapest to buy in the low season, in summer. The difference in price can reach 100-300% compared to winter.

For parents with children, I recommend - (all this is a condo with water slides and entertainment, an area for children).
Also enjoying steady popularity -

You need to understand that large, new, popular, well-appointed condos with water slides, good repairs and walking distance to the sea are more expensive than those that do not have the above.

How to get from the airport to Pattaya

From Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) Airport to Pattaya 120 km.

You can get to Pattaya either by public transport (bus) or by taxi.

Bus
The counter where they sell bus tickets is located on floor 1, exit 7-8.
Ticket to Pattaya - 120 - 250 baht.
Pros - cheap. And if you are not very tired or want to save money, traveling without children is a workable and good option. It takes about 2-2.5 hours to get there.
Cons: There are not always tickets available for the next flight.

The bus stop in Pattaya is the bus station on Thappraya Street in the Jomtien area. They also drop off in the direction of travel on North, Central Pattaya and South streets.

Taxi

A taxi is certainly more comfortable and faster.

You can take a taxi upon arrival (Bad idea. Expensive and stupid). You can book a transfer in advance by paying only a deposit.

I am completely satisfied with the transfer from KiwiTaxi . They meet you with a sign at the airport and wait. Clean cars, polite drivers. The price is fixed.
A child seat is available upon request (must be booked in advance).

The price of such a transfer is not the cheapest (you can probably find a bombil cheaper), but the reliability outweighs it. This option is suitable for those who do not want to get on their nerves upon arrival or before departure.

A simple example situation. My friends had a flight at night, a taxi was supposed to be sent by a local (Thai-Russian) company. Departure time - no car. An hour passes - no car.
And the area is such that it’s problematic to call someone at 12 at night. In short, I’m not ready to worry like that, especially with a lot of luggage and an armful of children.
Kiwis have never let me down.

Mobile communications and Internet

Pattaya has good internet and cheap mobile communications. The easiest way is to connect to one of the cell phone shops at the airport and choose a tourist tariff for the duration of your stay along with the Internet.

If you are staying for a long time, take Dtac Turist sim, download the Dtac application and connect Mobile Internet“Smooth Clip” - unlimited, no speed reduction, 300 baht per month.
Calls to local mobile phones cost about 1 baht per minute. To Russia via code 0047 - 4.5 baht per minute.

Which area to choose in Pattaya?

Jomtien
The most popular area, with walking distance to the sea and developed infrastructure in the form of shops, cafes, massages, transport for 10 baht (songthaew).

Pratamnak
There is no public transport, getting into the city is inconvenient. There are good beaches.

Naklua(north)
There is no embankment, there are a lot of construction sites, it’s uncomfortable to walk in the evening, the main street leading into the city is always stuck in a traffic jam.
The beaches are good, there are many 5 star hotels.

Center
For those who don’t need a city beach (here it’s dirty) and need a constant party. Many shopping centers, cafes and restaurants nearby.
The pier from which boats go to Koh Larn is also not far away.

Weather in Pattaya

Pattaya does not have a pronounced rainy season like Phuket or Koh Samui.

The main precipitation here falls from October to December, so if you were there during this time, you understand that this period cannot be called the “rainy season”.
This graph pretty much lies about the amount of rain, in reality there is less of it.

Pattaya is the sunniest resort in Thailand. There are more than 300 sunny days a year.

Air temperature on average +27 +30 degrees

In winter in the evening it can drop to +20.

It is hottest in spring - in March and April, up to +37.

In summer it is hot and dry. The rains are short, mostly at night.

Sea water temperature all year round +27 +30

It's hotter in summer, colder in winter.

If there are several cool days in a row, the water cools down to 25 degrees.

Weather in Thailand by month and sea water temperature

Pattaya has many interesting places- palaces, museums, farms, aquariums, zoos, observation decks, shows, water parks, etc.
Must-see: Golden Buddha Hill, Nong Nooch Garden, Khao Kheo Zoo, trip to, water parks and Katun, Khao Chi Chan Mountain, sea excursions.
There is plenty of entertainment for both adults and children.

What to see in Pattaya

The most popular excursions are city tours, farms and zoos, Nong Nooch, excursions to the most beautiful tropical islands - Koh Kood, Samet, sea excursions - Madagascar.
Fishing for predators and various shows, farms, trips to and

The advantage is that there are few excursions in Pattaya that you have to travel far to get to. Basically, the road is not tiring and many places can be seen even with small children.

Shopping in Pattaya

Since the ruble fell to the baht, shopping in Thailand has become less profitable, but still remains relevant.
Here you can buy inexpensive summer clothes and shoes, gadgets, leather goods from exotic animals - stingray, crocodile, python, etc.

Buy Thai, Japanese or Korean cosmetics and care products. Traditional medicine is also popular - dietary supplements, inhalers, Thai balms.

For shopping in Pattaya, go to: Central Marina, Outlet Mall, Thepprasit Night Market (Friday to Sunday), Royal Garden Plaza.

Where to buy groceries in Pattaya?

Convenience stores are common in Pattaya - 7/11 and Family Mart. They are literally everywhere and work around the clock.
In them you can find everything you need: from thread and needle to ready-made lunch.

For those who come to Pattaya for a long time and love (are going to) cook at home, the most the best option, buy groceries for the week ahead at the Macro store.

There are two Macros in Pattaya. One in the south, on Sukhumvit street. The second one is in the north. Cafes and restaurants are purchased from Makro. The products are fresh and inexpensive.

Some people like to buy groceries from Big C and Tesco Lotus. Unlike Makro (which does not offer delivery), groceries from Big C or Tesco can be ordered home. This is easy to do through the websites of these stores. Delivery is free for orders over 500 baht.

Fruits are usually bought at markets, which are also abundant in Pattaya and in every district.

The best fruit market with wholesale prices (but they also sell retail) is Ratanakorn Market. Located on Tepprasit street, in the middle.
You need to go there early in the morning; it closes after lunch.

A good fish market is located in the north, in the Naklua area.

Where to eat in Pattaya - Cafes and restaurants

Everyone's tastes are different, as is their budget, so everything is subjective, of course.

$ - cheap, $$ - average prices, $$$ - expensive.

Cafes and restaurants with beautiful views of the sea and surrounding area:

- an Italian restaurant on the seashore in the southern part of Pattaya, outside the city, by the sea. Delicious, suitable for special occasions.

best view to Pattaya for pennies. Open until 18 pm, from 16 pm it’s already difficult to find a place. District-Pratumnak.

— bar and restaurant on the 32nd floor of a 5 star hotel. Very expensive, but the sunset views are amazing and happy hour for cocktails is from 5-7pm.

- buffet for 199 baht and a large selection of dishes from 180 baht. Convenient to have a snack with family and small children.

— very tasty, open until 23:30.

- one of the best buffets for 220 baht, from 7 to 14.

— cheap and quick snack, including Russian food.

— Delicious burgers, European and Thai menu in the north of Pattaya

— French coffee shop and desserts (north and Jomtien)

— steaks, buffet, drinks and desserts inexpensively.

— German quality products, delicious breakfast, large portions

— Buffet with seafood from 200 baht. Jomtien

— seafood buffet in the North

— my favorite Thai cafe. The food is very tasty and very cheap. Pratamnak
