I am not a historian or a linguist. I am Eril, Master of Runes, and a practical psychologist. I know the Runes not from the side of linguistics or history. I know the Runes directly - in their active action and interaction with Man. I know in their active, real applied manifestation.

I am not a historian or a linguist. And this book does not claim either historical completeness or absolute reliability, or absolute and final truth in its view of the Runes. This book is an original work in which I will try to reveal my concept of the essence of Runes and the secret of their effectiveness. Rune not as a historical and cultural phenomenon, but as a magical-spiritual system. The book contains information about the world of Runes, about the various rune series, the features of their work and application.

I am not a historian or a linguist. For me, Runes are an eternally relevant system of active interconnection of all processes of the Universe and human interrelation with these processes. A system that allows you to actively and purposefully interact with Primary Forces, revealing their origins within yourself. A system of self-knowledge and description of the world that has a clear logic of internal structure... The system is holistic and does not fit into the Procrustean bed of official scientific theories. Therefore, in learning the Runes, I turn to esotericism.

The book offered to you is primarily an esoteric work. Historical facts and generally accepted calculations are based on open sources of information - both books and Internet materials. First of all, this applies to the part “about various runes”, where I used information from other authors, mainly V.D. Kosarev. I deliberately did not complicate the information presented (and in some places I simplified and generalized, making it “accessible and popular”), so from a scientific point of view it may cause a number of criticisms.

But in the esoteric part, I am extremely precise and specific, ready to answer for every word and proposed interpretation. Here I rely on two sources of real, effective Knowledge (again, not scientific, in the strict sense).

The first esoteric source is the sacred knowledge of the Rune Circle. Knowledge transferred directly from the outgoing Head of the Circle to the new head entering the Circle. They are not confirmed by any primary sources, references or written evidence - to the chagrin of those who like to look for support in “primary sources”. Regarding the use of information from this source, I will not make a footnote-disclaimer: “so my Teacher told me...” In my personal opinion, and the traditional approach, any Word, even just repeated by you after someone, is already yours. And you are fully responsible for its action, truth, meaning. It’s pointless to make excuses: “That’s what the Master said!” That's what the ancients said! Science has proven this..." I decided to convey something in a Word - that means you yourself are the primary source for those listening...

The second source is knowledge gained through many years of practice as an eril, psychologist, energy corrector (if you want, a healer), esotericist. This Knowledge also has a single primary source - me.

Your choice: either trust further information and apply it to life, or treat it as one of many versions about the essence of Runes.


Introduction.

As a rule, one begins to study runes by studying the Elder Runes. Knowledge about them is the most accessible; it is in them that good methods of work have been developed, primarily in the prediction section. Often, a beginner believes that “Runes” in general are limited to the Elder Runes. A discovery for beginners is the existence of other rune series.

Some are trying to contrast other runes with the Elders, others are looking for cooler magical possibilities in them. Literature about other rune series is poorly available, and there is not much of it. Jarell’s works “Healing with the Magic of Runes” and “The Secret of the Runes” by Liszt - according to Armanen, “Northern Magic” by E. Thorsson - on the Younger Runes, “Slavic Runes” by A. Platov and the book of the same name by me - on Slavic or Wendish runes - here, perhaps everything that deserves attention. However, the lack of information does not stop serious practitioners; different rune series attract, they see opportunities for expanding work in the Runes, obtaining a new tool for self-knowledge.

The proposed book is intended to expand the knowledge of practitioners both about the Elder Runes and other rune series. The information presented in it does not pretend to be absolutely complete and correct - rather, it represents the primary paths laid into the unknown region of Cognition.

Runes can be studied historically and theoretically. In this case, you will be a runologist, most likely you will know the entire scientific history of runes, you will be able to conduct a comparative analysis of the series, shine with knowledge of the Edda, and be fluent in various theories of runes. Most likely, as a “runologist” you will disdain the practical part of the world of Runes and be distrustful of new hypotheses and experiments of practitioners.

In runes you can be a pure practitioner - a contactee. Without coordinating your actions in any way and without relying in your thoughts on the traditional approach, you “practice” various rituals, cut amulets, fill them with the blood of your own and sacrificial animals, multiply rune sets without number. Believe in “contactee” insights, be convinced of the power of the individual and the ability to achieve heights in the practice of traditional techniques only through individual insight, without training and study.

I suggest a middle way, on which, along with studying historical and traditional material, you necessarily practice, and practice with the search for your own route on the Path laid by Odin and the Erils of Tradition.

That is why in this book I provide recommendations for creating rune sets from various materials. Let me note right away: a set made independently, even with the observance of the appropriate rituals, will be weaker and less functional than a set made by an experienced eril, a Rune Master. Less functionality concerns primarily the help of the set, as the most powerful magical artifact in situations that are unfamiliar, dangerous, and do not have reliable guidelines for further self-realization. In situations associated with a new stage of development, where not only external but also internal orientation is needed - and not so much informational as energy correction. In situations where protection from the targeted influence of evil is necessary.

However, a set you create yourself can be quite “working”. At least in terms of information. The key to this is three factors: observance of the ritual, awareness of the purpose of creation and respect for the power of the Runes, creation of a set “outside the mind”, from the heart.


Essence of Runes.

In the broadest, “popular-everyday” sense, runes usually include various linear signs that have either a phonetic expression (letters) or (often presumably) symbolic meaning. The phonetic and symbolic can be combined in a rune. Runes belonging to the same culture are combined into groups called “rune rows”.

In a broad scientific sense, both historical and linguistic, “runes” include a fairly large number of letter series that were used (or hypothetically used) for writing. As a rule, there are three groups of runes - Germanic (Scandinavian), Slavic (Vendian) and Turkic. There is also a selection of proto-runes - signs dating back to the pre-literate historical period of human development, from which the runes supposedly originated. The most ancient signs can be called ancestral runes - one can only build hypotheses about their meaning and application.

The most studied and historically reliable is the first group - Germanic (Scandinavian) runes. The phonetic meanings are known here, the writing rules are known, there are historical monuments with inscriptions in these runes.

The most hypothetical group is the Slavic runes - the exact and complete series of letters of the Slavic runes is still not known, and the exact phonetic meanings are not known. The largest number of hypotheses, conjectures and speculations in our cultural space are associated precisely with Slavic runes. Here the existence of the “runica” (Chudinov) is most scientifically proven, and a number of Retra runes (Bykovsky and Platov) are esoterically interesting.

The third group, Turkic runes, is the most numerous and has the largest distribution area. Turkic runes are the youngest of the runes as such, they were used from Europe to Tibet, including Central Asia. Here, along with the precisely known and complete rows, there are several mysterious, indecipherable types of runes. They are represented by a small number of inscriptions; they cannot be reliably deciphered or reconstructed. However, our book relates to esoteric disciplines and we will interpret the concept of “Runes” in a narrower way.

In the traditional, magical understanding, the Runes include only a number of Elder Runes and the rows formed (or formed) from it. In these derivative series, both the historical and mythological tradition and the taxonomy of the Elder Runes should be traced (arrangement according to attas, in a certain order, similarity of images and consonance of names). And the main esoteric condition that defines the Runes: their essence is not the transmission of sounds in language, not functioning as a written element, but being filled with a universal symbolic meaning.

The rune, of course, can be used as a means of writing. But, from the point of view of esotericism, this is its secondary use. Its primary and main use is magical. She is a sacred symbol that interconnects Man, the World and the Will of the Creator into a single, actively operating whole.

All other signs and letters that are similar to Runes or called “runes” by their creators, but do not meet the mentioned requirements, are not esoterically Runes.


Interest in esoteric work with Runes has not faded in Europe for the second millennium. How widely Runes were used for magic and divination in the early periods of their history, before the beginning of the Viking Age, we can only judge from rare mentions of such practices by Roman historians and rare archaeological finds (in this book I do not specifically rely on sacred history). The Viking Age left us with a large number of artifacts with runic inscriptions, including those for magical purposes. There are also historical documents testifying to the use of runic magic in everyday life. Interest in runes in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance is evidenced by a number of works by Icelandic researchers of the 17th and 18th centuries, who described in great detail and thoroughly the various types of runes and methods of their use. In our time, interest in Runes has flared up with renewed vigor. There are many reasons for this.

One can take as a reason an interest in the national-cultural revival of the Germanic, Scandinavian and Slavic peoples, who find in the Runes the power of the ancient tribal gods, their Truth and Glory.

One can consider as a decisive factor the desire for the mystical side of reality, which is increasingly intensifying with the growth of technical and scientific progress, the strengthening of social differentiation, as well as the growth of opportunities for self-realization of an individual, opposed to the overwhelming influence of global social structures.

But I, as a Rune Master and psychologist who works professionally (or, more precisely, lives) in Runes, see the reason for the popularity, demand and, most importantly, effectiveness of Runes in something completely different. More precisely, I see the essence underlying the above-mentioned reasons, and indeed all human life. This is a manifestation of Runes from the Unconscious, from the active foundation of Existence.

They sometimes deceive the pure of Heart. And they don’t feel any remorse for it.


They are adventurers and filibusters, they are agents of the Dark Side of the Ego.

They crave power and authority.


They need Abilities - they need superhuman power over other people.

They want to be princes of their small inheritances, forgetting about the Tsar and not thinking about the Prince.

Both are dangerous...


Someone has deceived them (often “someone” in themselves).


For some reason they believe that esotericism, spirituality and magic will give them the opportunity, simply by completing training and receiving a “certificate,” to suddenly gain sidhi.

To find something that will put them above society, will put them above everyone else, will give them status in the world of people just like them, marginalized from esotericism.


They want to open the Third Eye, gain the Sixth Sense and open chakras in numbers much greater than the number “seven”.


By and large, they are no different from consumers of “bread and circuses”, from those eager to “get and take.”

The same spiritual blindness, egocentrism and dictate of low-level needs.

In the “Speeches of the High One,” Odin’s words clearly define what an eril, a rune master, should be able to do.

A. Platov in his article “Eight Skills of a Rune Master” defined the mentioned skills as “skills”. I agree with him, since “skill” presupposes highly professional mastery of a skill, the result of which almost does not depend on the internal or external conditions of application of the skill. I will also use this term.

As A. Platov noted, the eight skills mentioned in “Speeches of the High” are recognized by both historical and esoteric runologists as real requirements for eril.


“Can you cut?”

We are talking about the “transfer” of the rune from the “internal” world to the “external” world - that is, about mastery of the methods of embodiment of the Rune. Undoubtedly, in the first place is the traditional way of “cutting” runes: namely, cutting out “strong signs”. Anyone who decides to become a practitioner of Runes in the applied aspect should cut (literally) runes. Moreover, it is with cut amulets that the Path of embodiment on the material should begin. Not from burning, sculpting, etc. - namely from cutting.

But it should be remembered that modern rune practitioners also have simpler (but no less effective) implementation tools in their toolkit: meditative methods of activating runes, drawing runes on the body, drawing runes on paper or cardboard, etc. Despite the fact that “traditionalists” revile and reject such methods, these methods still work.

After all, in fact, “how to cut” is not so important, but “who cuts” is important. And the factor “when it cuts” also plays a role...

Confusing yourself with the “correct” ways of cutting “from yourself” or “towards you” and searching for “which rune feature should be drawn first” is absolutely useless if runes for you are only signs and a method of “witchcraft”. Only when the Runes live in the human psyche, when his consciousness and subconscious freely operates with the system of Runes as a basic symbolic world-descriptive system - only then any method of “cutting” will be effective.

But here the appropriateness and timeliness of “cutting”, the skill of determining the need to use runes, selecting the right runes and choosing the exact time for cutting the runes also plays a role. I attribute these factors specifically to the first “skill”.

So, the first skill is “to be able to cut”:

1.Knowledge of the outline of Runes and life in their taxonomy

2. Mastery of different cutting techniques

3. The ability or mastery of technology to choose the most effective cutting time, cutting method and determination of “does it need to be cut at all?”


“Can you solve?”

Platov notes that in Korsun’s translation the verb “r”ada lost some shades of meaning - namely, “to read, understand, accept as “advice.”

I believe that this is a skill of deep, largely intuitive and situational understanding of the Runes, from which Eril creates a runic inscription for the amulet. Understanding which Runes will help in a given situation and understanding why these particular runes will help in this particular matter. At the same time, purely “bookish”, “standard” knowledge of Runes is definitely not enough. In addition, this is an understanding of the accompanying and “shadow” manifestations of the “cut” runes and the ability to take these manifestations into account when “cutting”.

This also applies to interpretations of rune predictions.

So, the second Skill is “to be able to solve”:

- intuitive and logical understanding of the “carved” runes, awareness of their existing functions in their entirety and mastery of the art of rune predictions.


“Can you paint?”

Platov notes that the skill of “cutting” and “painting” are different skills and independent processes. You may be able to “cut”, but you may not be able to “paint”. What is the role of “coloring” the rune? In essence, this is its activation, revival, confirmation of its birth in the world of human life. This is similar to the effects of mythological “dead” and “living” water.

“Cutting” is the creation of a certain structure, but not its activation. Let us remember: dead water made the parts a single whole - but static, lifeless, ready to accept life, but not striving for this. In fact, one can identify “cutting” with the manifestation of Ice, which creates and preserves the structures of the Universe.

“Coloring” is the influence of “living” water.” It is not for nothing that traditionally the most powerful amulets of the Erili are colored with their blood - in fact, the “water of life”. “Coloring” can be correlated with Fire, which gives birth to form from Ice and gives it Life.

I have seen a lot of well-carved runes (beautiful, aesthetic, precisely proportional), but dead, “uncolored”. This is where the factor “it’s important who paints” plays an even bigger role than “it’s important who cuts.” It is by coloring the rune that eril, through the process of pouring paint into the rune, transfers a powerful living impulse to the rune, puts in the Essence and Power of the rune - taking it out of itself, as a form that previously contained the “rune,” into an external form, separated from itself.

It is not necessary to “paint” the rune with blood. But at the moment of “coloring” it is necessary to invest your emotions and experiences into the process.

So, the skill of “coloring”:

- The skill to activate the shape of a rune created by “cutting”, to “breathe” active life into it, in fact, to create a Rune.


“Do you know how to ask?”

And again Platov notes that Korsun’s translation of the verb “freista” cannot be considered correct. Platov mentions that various Western translators are looking for a translation of this word in the following senses: “to search”, “to try”, “to measure”, “to determine” (Danish translations); “to seek”, “to judge [something]”, “to test” (Norwegian translations); “to prove”, “to find out the truth” (English translations).

“To try the truth”, “to search”, “to test”, “to make a judgment”, “to determine” - this is the definition Platov offers for the fourth skill. “Asking for runes” before cutting them is very important. Too many modern practitioners are dismissive of the practice of rune predictions, preferring to immediately do “great rune sorcery”, selecting runes purely “from the mind” - in fact, engaging in “fortune telling” that they so despise. That is, by guessing what will help in a given situation. Only a correctly conducted prediction session, only work based on the answers of the runes, allows you to create really working rune amulets.

So, the fourth skill:

- be able to ask runes so that your questions elicit truly true answers, be able to understand the answers of runes so that they correspond to the true picture of the situation.


“Do you know how to pray?...”

Platov notes that the semantic shades inherent in ancient history. the verb bidja, are more consistent with the words “ask”, “ask”, “call”. That is, the ability to call upon the gods, to ask them - to ask for exactly what one should. But do not “beg”, “beg”, “pray”. Moreover, as Platov notes, the verb “to pray” means some kind of internal, independent work (like “to wash”, “to study”, “to get angry” - that is, to do something independently, relying on oneself).

But in relation to the gods, the approach is different: Eril specifically asks for their help, calls on their Power, since her own strengths (no matter how developed they are) are not enough in the situation being worked on.

This is an extremely important skill - moreover, it is rather a “skill”, that is, an unconsciously used skill.

In modern rune practices, one should not call on the gods all the time and in all situations. Both simple forms of “cutting” and situations of using runes do not always require the specific attention of the gods. But a practitioner, especially an eril, even if he does not call on the gods in a particular case, he must be able to do this. Moreover, he is always “in touch” with the gods, his psychoenergy, consciousness, his whole life is a constant translator of the Will of the Gods - in any of his actions, in any of his words, in any of his steps. And again, here “not how to call” comes to the fore, but “who calls.”

Unfortunately, in modern applied runics there are two opposing trends. The first is to appeal to the Gods for a reason, without a reason, all the time and loudly. This is not a “skill” and certainly not a “skill” - it is rather a neurotic habit, the indulgence of which does not serve the Call of the Gods. The second tendency: to generally deprive both the Runes and the practice with them of any mystical principle and essence, and never turn to either the Gods or the Norns. This approach is reminiscent of using crab sticks instead of crab meat, and loving a rubber doll instead of loving a real woman.

So, the fifth skill:

- the ability to appeal to the Gods and ask for what should and really is needed.


“...and prepare the victims.”

Rather, the word "sacrifice" or the term "sacrifice" should be used. This skill correlates with the fifth - “call by God.” Once again we are faced with two modern trends. "Traditionalists" argue that it is absolutely necessary to always make a specific blood sacrifice during any magical operation with runes. Moreover, they sacrifice either their own blood, or the slaughter of some sacrificial animal. They say that without sacrifice to the Gods, no amulet will have any power.

It would be nice to understand why rituals and sacrifices are needed at all? Can one really seriously think that Odin and the Aesir, especially the Asinyas, really need the shedding blood and suffering of a dying victim? The Aesir are not the dead from Hades, rising to the evaporation of blood, and not small-astral spirits, flocking to the evaporation of the emanations of life. They don't need it.

Rituals and sacrifices are primarily needed by the people themselves - these actions bring the psychoenergy and consciousness of the magician to the desired state. But the highest level of practice is a constant state of “connection with the gods”, in which there is no need for special activating rituals that open a person to the Gods. And again we are faced with an individual factor: what matters is not “how to sacrifice,” but “who donates.”

But “what one sacrifices” is important - especially since the “sacrifice” is to a greater extent a “gift”: that is, you need to give what you like and what the Gods like. And you always need to know both the measure and the appropriateness of the “sacrifice”.

In the same “Speeches of the High One” we read the words of Odin himself:

Even if you don’t pray at all,

but don't sacrifice without measure,

a gift is awaited in response;

not at all,

than to stab without measure.

“Neo-Runists” refuse sacrifices and gifts in general. But they either forget or don’t want to know that any magical effect always has its “price” - it always requires some kind of “payment” for its action. There is a whole chapter about it in this book, as well as about other skills. I’ll just mention here: if a person does not give a “sacrifice,” then either the amulet will not work, or the “sacrifice” will be exacted by life itself.

So, the sixth skill:

– the ability to make a correct sacrifice during a ritual.


“Can you distribute?”

Platov again notes that the word “distribute” has a very distant relation to the meaning of the word senda.

Rather, the word means “to send,” “to send.” Platov writes that, most likely, this is the skill of “sending” rune magic to an object of influence, located at a distance from the eril. The deeper meaning of “distribute” is also applicable in understanding this skill: how to correctly distribute the impact between all the factors acting in the situation being worked on.

So, the seventh skill:

- the ability to direct the action of a runic spell across a distance and correctly distribute the impact between all acting factors.


“Do you know how to pawn?”

Platov notes that Korsun’s translation of the last skill is very far from the meaning of ancient history. the verb s"oa, which does not have any connotation of sacrifice, although it has the meaning of destruction.

Norwegian translations use words meaning “destroy” and “stop”; in Danish - “to squander”, “to spend” and “to remove”.

I agree with Platov’s conclusion that we are talking about the skill of destroying a malfunctioning rune spell. This is a very important skill, since it allows you to correct your own mistake and resist the influence of other Rune practitioners who could, either through thoughtlessness or malicious intent, use Rune magic for evil.

So, the eighth skill:

- the ability to destroy both the malfunctioning amulet itself and correct the consequences of its impact.

CHAPTER No. 6

WHERE IS YOUR PLACE IN RUNES MAGIC

Magical practices in Runes can be divided into three large groups: predictive, meditative, amulet (applied).

Predictive magical practices are not discussed in this book, and in general I do not present them in books, but convey them in direct seminar training (“Runes - the magic of predictions”). You can read about the predictions themselves in my books “Runes: a simple beginning” (Nikacenter, Kyiv) and “Runes: the practice of predictions” (Akubens, Kharkov).

But we will consider meditative and amulet ones in detail in subsequent chapters.

Who are you in magic?

Rune magic requires high discipline of consciousness from the practitioner. And all this is achieved through long and impeccable practice, preferably accompanied by training from already realized erils. And only then the seemingly simple methods (but containing a high concentration of Power) of creating Rune amulets, writing certain words-spells with Runes, Rune meditations, Rune Predictions become both the most effective and the most safe both for the world around you and for your consciousness and psyche .

Any magical work in Runes (as in other real magical directions) is based primarily on working with the psyche and consciousness of the practitioner. By making consciousness flexible, capable of perceiving and accepting the Rune as ourselves, we gain the ability to transmit the Power of the Runes as purely and effectively as possible into the world and, above all, into our living space.

A similar state is achieved through constant practice of Runic predictions - and this is a mandatory step. Predictions in Runes are the basic practice of understanding the actions of Runes, the constant improvement of Knowledge and comprehension. This is the base, the foundation of any magical action.

No matter how paradoxical it may seem, it is the practice of rune predictions that is the most difficult component of rune magic and success in it can only be achieved by attracting training from a realized eril. Although it looks nowhere simpler... When the magic of predictions works for you, the need for the applied aspects of Rune magic disappears.

But the applied aspects of Rune magic are, in principle, accessible to “uninitiated” people. Although here, as mentioned above, there are also serious requirements. Applied magic works best for those for whom “magic” is a way of life.

A small but important digression.

Regarding the practices of magic, people can be classified as follows:

3.Professionals


Lovers are people who from time to time use some kind of magical technology to improve their everyday life or to escape from their everyday life. By resorting to magic, they in no way change their worldview, their way of perceiving and thinking, or their way of constantly interacting with the world. In general, they are “simple” people with everyday thinking.

Unfortunately, it is among them that the largest number of those who imagine themselves to be magicians and represent themselves as “magicians” - in life, on forums, in parties. They think that by buying paints, brushes and paper and learning how to draw basic shapes they become “artists”...

In fact, amateurs often have nothing to do with magic. Many of them are quite satisfied with the very fact of playing “using technology”: they made an amulet, wear it, and consider themselves a magician. Happy.

They don’t pay anything for “magic”, since they don’t have “magic” - they don’t change their lives or themselves either for magic or with the help of magic.

They do not interact with the Higher Powers, but are common victims of various pseudo-spiritual and pseudo-magical egregors. They especially like to get into various “orders”, “communities”, “circles”, change their names to super-ethnic or super-magical ones and receive pseudo-statuses of “great witches of fire”, “magicians of the 12th level”, “emissaries of the Shadow”, etc. .


Craftsmen- these are people who, at best, have mastered certain magical technologies at a good pragmatic level in a certain narrow area. At worst, they can imitate the use of magical technologies quite well, while owning much less than they show (like selling a coolly sophisticated computer, inside of which there is only a processor from a microcalculator).

Those who are “at best” often do not “shine” with their skills, successfully and constantly applying them in their chosen field. To some extent they have changed their worldview, but in general they do not change themselves and their life goals - like all people. Magic does not become the basis of their life, but is an important factor in improving life on a material level.

This “improvement” is especially manifested in people with the “worst case” - it is among them that most of the types of “healers”, “sorcerers”, “magicians”, “parapsychologists” ... (I emphasize - there are also real healers and sorcerers, they are most often visited belong to the people of the “best case”). These people are good at imitating magical rituals, the healing process, predictions and living it. But their consciousness is purely everyday, magic does not change them from the inside, and they do not really believe in “magic”, since they consider the circus that they organize to be “magic”.

Craftsmen already pay for incorporating magic into their lives - they have to change, they become dependent on the use of magical practices.

It is the artisans of the “worst case” who most often create the above-mentioned “orders”, “circles”, “communities” and attract amateurs into them who support the status of the artisan and create for him the mentioned “life improvements”.

Craftsmen of the “best case” either do not consciously attract the Higher Powers, or have contact with the Higher Powers - but very limited, in a narrow sphere, often considering the Gods to be “egregors”, “ideas”, “emanations of the Higher Mind”. This, as it were, frees them from responsibility for attracting Forces into their lives and creates illusory control over their own lives. In principle, due to the fact that they strictly limit the scope of magic, the Higher Powers have nowhere to “turn around” - and their influence (as well as help) is also very limited.

The “worst case” craftsmen, in fact, either try to “close themselves” from any Forces altogether, or actively contact low-astral Forces, which they wish to subjugate, or with higher-order Forces, which they wish to manipulate. As a result, they themselves are subjugated and manipulated - and often not at all by the Forces they called upon. Since these “artisans” often postulate their highest dedication, demonstrate a “higher connection,” and actively use various rituals, conspiracies, calls of the Forces in their demonstrative “practices,” their lives and they themselves become very chaotically open to any influence.


Professionals– people for whom magic is the essence and basis of their everyday life, the basis of their worldview, worldview, and worldview. The basis of their interactions with the world and the main tool for their self-realization. They live in magic and live in magic. Most often, this is their professional occupation or their profession is somehow connected with magical practices.

It is among the professionals that one can find real witches (not neo-Wiccan “witches”), sorcerers, healers, shamans and magicians. They differ in the breadth of the scope of magic, different “tools,” different traditions and relationships with the Forces. But, one way or another, it is these people who go into Magic not out of interest (amateurs), not because of the “benefits” (artisans), but because they simply cannot live any other way. It is for them that magic works in full, works as a natural, constantly operating factor.

However, they also pay the most: they cannot, and do not want, to live “everyday life” - but this means not only internal changes, but also external transformations: such as abandoning the old way of life, old social connections, sometimes real and a complete rejection of the “first life” without any guarantee that the new “magical” life will be better or easier.

They are the members and heads of real Circles, Orders and Societies. And more often than not, they go their own Path, without entering into any social structures, even the magical level. It is with them and through them that certain Higher Powers realize their Destiny.


It would be nice for a Rune practitioner to decide: who he is now and where he is going to move next in his practices?

What is especially good about Runes: at any of the described levels they “work” - to one degree or another, but they give the desired results corresponding to the level. Therefore, you don’t need to immediately “swing” at being a “professional” - if you are still an “amateur”, then work on this level first.

For a person who does not study Runes systematically, under the guidance of Eril, but practices “from books” (Raido) and inspiration (Anzus), saturates the work with his sincere sense of knowledge (Kano), two rules should be observed when working with Runes:

1. Do not complicate the practice with mystical elements without an accurate understanding of what is happening.

2.Create magic only for yourself and for loved ones. But not to order from strangers, especially for a fee.


CHAPTER No. 3

MAGIC AND MAGIC

Mage and Strength

The attitude towards magic in modern society is very ambiguous - from complete rejection and non-recognition to obsession and speculation. Moreover, awareness of the concept “Magic” usually does not occur. Although there is nothing in magic that cannot be explained from the point of view of rational thinking.

Magic is the ability to cause precisely defined changes according to the will and intention of a person, as well as to foresee such changes. In simpler and shorter terms: to foresee and create the future at will. In “operative form” this is the acquired ability to get to the right place, at the right time and in the right state of consciousness (A. Platov)

The main practical problem the magician is always “his desire”. The question arises: will the realization of the magician’s desire harm others, will the realization of the desire contradict the Higher Will, will the realization of the desire bring some unpredictable life problems in the future for this person, will the person lose something more important by fulfilling this particular desire - either as a “payment”, or because it was at that time that something else, more important and necessary, had to be done? A person who does not think about such questions is either stupid or has Higher Guidance and is already a realized magician.

The main practical task The magician is the right choice of “technologies” that will help realize the “desire”. That is, we are talking about developing “power”. And here it is extremely important to remember the division of magic into ecological and non-ecological.

Magic can be ecological and non-ecological. Ecological magic uses such “technologies” and interacts with such Forces that they develop the hidden innate abilities of a person, allowing for long-term benefits. That is, in ecological magic, a person uses certain technologies that are resonant with his own unawakened forces, his power. These technologies become, in fact, external tools for the awakening, application and development of the strengths and power of man himself. In environmental magic, it is extremely important to select “technologies” that are not only built on certain archetypal principles (ecologically friendly for any person), but also suitable for him personally.

Non-ecological magic is based on the use by a person of certain “technologies” that change the work of his psychoenergy to a more “advanced”, “active” mode - but do not develop the strength and power of a person in any way, but only either use his life resource, or make him dependent on “ technologies". At the same time, non-ecological magic is the same for everyone - its technologies absolutely do not take into account the individuality of a person, the resulting “qualities” and results are always “external”, depending on the constant use of technology. As soon as it “turns off”, all the results come to naught.

The main ideological and spiritual problems The magician’s choice is the choice of the Forces that will guide him in practice (from this follows his choice of the “color” of magic - more on this in the following chapters).

There are three approaches:

Rely on your own Strength,

Interact with environmental forces

Interact with non-ecological Forces.

Let’s define the concept of “Strength” in general:

"Strength" as a quality: the ability to realize, control and target the events of one’s own life.

“Force” as an active universal phenomenon: is an energy information system capable of interacting with energy and managing it, purposefully structuring energy into processes determined by the Force. If we are talking about a certain personified Power - a person, a deity, a certain egregor - then they also talk about the presence of a conscious quality Strength."

In general, due to the peculiarities of the great and powerful Russian language, there is a certain confusion in terms of the term “Strength”: “Strength” refers to both the quality (“implemented skills and the ability to realize, control and purposefully direct life processes”) and the bearer of this quality. Even if the “carrier” is not a creature possessing consciousness (“the power of Nature”), we unconsciously endow it with the quality of consciousness.


Reliance on your own Strength- an extremely important and indispensable element of the practice of any magician. It is one’s own Power that “controls” and acts on the already mastered and controlled living space of the magician. It is precisely according to the level of development and manifestation (I emphasize - precisely “and manifestation”) of the magician’s own Power that External Forces will contact and interact with him - more “strong” than him, but not included in the parity agreement with the weak and non-strong.

And, unfortunately, magicians who rely only on their own Power slide into conflicting and destructive relationships with the life around them. This happens due to the fact that one’s own Power works at the level of the previously mentioned structures of the reptilian complex and implements “magical thinking” - hyperdominant, domineering and afraid of losing its status and power.


If a magician relies only on his Power, big problems await him, since the magician always strives for revolutionary results of his practices, not being satisfied with what is available in his living space. That is, the magician always directs himself into the realm of the unknown, striving to find a certain Place and Position there. No “past experience” can help here - and then the Force leading you will lead you in the new. But not your own - your own power “works” well only in a space that is known and already under the magician’s control. An external leading force will help to find interaction with the Forces - the masters of the unknown space.


Relying on Environmental Forces– this is a reliance on those Forces, interaction with which requires the development of one’s own strengths and develops the magician’s own strengths. They act through the archetypes of the Unconscious - which become a kind of portals for the entry of Forces from their worlds into the human world. Due to this “entrance”, human archetypes begin to work beyond the norm, transcendentally reaching a new level of functioning. However, there are two features:

A person must develop himself (and the qualities of his own Power) to a certain level from which the Power can function in a person (that is, installing Photoshop in an MP3 player is unproductive and impossible)

The results of the work of the ecological Force in a person’s life are not quick, they are prolonged, and a person needs to always keep himself at the highest level of self-realization (“walk with a sword in his hand”) and not demand instant results from the Force.

Ecological Forces, as a rule, include natural Forces and ancient Traditional Pantheons, only they must correspond to a certain geno-ethnic basis of practice (so it is “ecologically” for a European person to interact with the Scandinavian, Slavic and even at some level the Turkic pantheons, but with the Egyptian or African – “not environmentally friendly”)

Reliance on non-ecological Forces– interaction with certain social-egregorial, spiritual-non-human Forces, as well as alien geno-ethnic Forces. Contact with them is extremely attractive for those who are looking for Wealth, Power, Sex, Revenge - and not wanting to change in any way, considering themselves already a super cool magician and worthy of some special, higher fate. When contacting non-ecological Forces, a person is required to pay only a seemingly small fee with the promise of the desired results. At the same time, the magician very quickly gets what he wants and begins to trust the Force. This is where he came in.

Non-ecological Forces do not give away anything for good - what the magician receives from them is only a bait, because of which he allows the Forces into himself and his world. Non-ecological Forces use the hidden abilities of the magician, but without developing them in any way, without giving long-term benefit to the person, spending most of the person’s vital forces received for themselves. As a result, these Forces take the resulting “bait”, or it turns out to be useless or harmful, and the Forces at a certain moment throw the person out - and he has to independently deal with all the socio-economic and spiritual-psychic consequences of what was done to him and through him.


Various magics.

Rune Magic belongs to the original European magical Tradition. A tradition that avoided and did not allow itself to be influenced by eastern mystical teachings, under the influence of which Medieval European Magic was formed (although such attempts were constantly made and are being made by practitioners of different levels).

The fusion of Hellenism, Kabbalah and the mystical practices of Europe created Black, White and Gray magic.

Or rather, they gave the magicians either the opportunity or the temptation to choose their “color.”


The magician is in a system of interaction and confrontation of four Forces: Light, Good, Darkness, Evil.

Ideally, the magician seeks a certain point of Balance, passing through himself the actions of opposing Forces or initializing the action of these Forces in his world (although in any case these actions go through the magician).

In the relationship between the Forces themselves, there is a certain initial Point of Balance. The magician, guided by his subjective ideas and the influence of the Forces he has chosen on his psyche, shifts this point of Equilibrium towards one or another Force - disturbing the Equilibrium (often believing that he, on the contrary, is restoring Equilibrium). At the same time, it depends on the Power and Strength of the magician himself, as well as on his purpose, whether the Balance will shift only in his life or the shift will occur in a larger living space, including himself and the lives of other people not directly related to the magician.

The ratio of morality and morality of the magician plays a huge role.


The basis of a magician’s practice is always intellect - in fact, this is what distinguishes a “magician” from a “shaman,” “wizard,” or “sorcerer.”

However, the intellect is helped by reason and/or reason, feelings and/or passion, spiritual law and/or needs, as well as the previously mentioned morality and/or ethics.

The Forces of Light embody Order, Law and Power.

The Forces of Darkness embody Chaos, Choice and Freedom.

The Forces of Good embody the principle “Good for everyone without harm to others” and implement the plan of Creation.

The Forces of Evil embody the principle of “good for one at the expense of harm to others” and identify potentialities that destroy the plan of Creation.


Light - Forces that realize the intention of individual people to gain Power and establish their Order in the lives of other people, subordinating them to their Law (by which they must live, but not he). The Light does not care whether a person acts out of pure egoism, is passionate about a certain idea, or really wants “everyone to have a good time.”

Forces of Light - egregorial structures of varying degrees of antiquity, occultity and openness. They “care” about the adherence of groups of people and individuals to the laws of Morality (which are established by the Forces of Light themselves) and the lives of people in a certain “general” level of life, which postulated brings them happiness, goodness and justice. Their actions are based on the principles of Order, Law and Authority.

This postulates the mandatory need for certain groups of people to follow the established Order, which is ensured by a specific Law given by representatives of the Authority.

To achieve the goals of the universal Light - general happiness, goodness and justice, the Forces of Light can easily sacrifice individual people, or even groups of people, and can also use any means that suppress individuality - creating identical “members of society” from groups of people. As a rule, the organizational structures of the Forces of Light are built on the pyramidal egregorial principle. A Light Magician cannot be a “loner” - he is always included in a certain structure. His status depends on what hierarchical status he is in in the egregor.

Light magic refers to non-ecological magic that destroys the natural psychoenergetic structures of a person.

Most likely, the Magic of Light initially realized the Initial Plan of Creation, but was subsequently used by the egregorial Forces of the created world, beginning to implement their own plans.

Pure Light Mage- a person who does not have individual Power, but he has the ability to pass through himself the action of the Forces of Light, often being their automatic avatar. He uses or is used by egregorial Forces, realizing through him their own tasks and plans. When he is “disconnected” from the egregor, he turns into a simple person, since the egregorial connection of the “Light” type does not develop in him his individual magical Powers.

The light magician gives himself over to the Power of the Forces of Light or attracts them to help him. The Light Magician attracts Forces into his life (which is not in his subjective perception point of balance

Magicians of Light tend to use social powers.


Dark– the original basic Power of the unconscious of any person, expressing the intention of Individual and independent development. This is the Power that determines the individual differences of people and allows them to realize Free Choice outside of social or traditional settings - including outside of certain basic internal laws. The most ancient and primordial Power, on the basis of which the first Creation was made.

It builds its manifestation on the principles of Choice, Freedom and Chaos. In the sphere of action of Darkness, individuality is welcomed, striving for endless development and learning new things (as opposed to egoism, striving to stabilize what already exists). Such an individual perceives the surrounding world as Chaos, in which in fact there are no certain Laws, Order and Power, which will have to be obeyed, limited, served - despite the fact that the forces of Light claim the opposite. In Darkness, a magician can always make any Choice that ensures his Freedom. The status of a Dark Magician does not depend on his hierarchical nominal position, but on the level of Strength and Power that is manifested in him at the moment.

The goal of Darkness is the maximum manifestation of the individual powers of the magician himself, regardless of the principles of morality (whatever they may be) and depending on his morality, which is very flexible and situational (the principle of Freedom, which provides him with the best Choice in mastering Chaos). In the sphere of action of Darkness, not a single egregor works, and Darkness itself obeys only the archetypal laws of the Unconscious. At the same time, the Status of the Strong is accepted as a natural ethological manifestation - the Strong has the right to use the weak for the necessary benefit (that is, if the Dark One is a vampire, then he has the right to “drink” a person if he is so weak as not to defend himself).

Pure Dark Mage – a person who has maximum Power, but often not so developed Strength. He is asocial and aegregorial, is not included in any of the social structures of interactions, and has neither responsibility nor obligations. If for one reason or another it is close to being included in any egregor, it either disintegrates or is “bought off” from the magician. He is a Loner in its purest form, he is not attached to anything in this world and is always ready to Leave - hence Pure Dark Mages are very close to Death, to the Worlds of the Ancestors, to the primordial Chaos. Ancient Shamans are the closest to Pure black magicians.

Purely Dark Magicians are far from both selfishness (which subordinates them to the biologically determined dictates of lower needs) and altruism (which subordinates them to the need to sacrifice themselves for someone else)

As a rule, teenagers consider themselves Pure Black Magicians, mistakenly replacing Freedom with permissiveness, and independence from morality with independence from morality.

For a Purely Dark magician, it is his individual morality that is the main core of his status as “dark”.

Magicians of Darkness tend to use natural forces.


Welcome - the original Force, expressing in the tendency of the created Universe to follow the Plan of Creation strictly and without options, without taking into account the individual intentions of the manifestations of parts of the Universe (which may run counter to the implementation of the Plan).

If we follow the external Christian paradigm, then it is “good” that leads to the acquisition by some of the Souls of the “kingdom of heaven” after the Last Judgment.

In the global understanding, “good” also manifests itself in the fact that some souls will find “fiery hell.” That is, everyone will receive their due and the plan will be implemented holistically.

Forces of Good contribute to the integrity, harmony and expedient continuation of all life processes of the Universe in their unity and consistency. The basis of Good is the principle “Good for everyone without harm to others.” At the same time, “everyone,” that is, an individual, is capable of consciously sacrificing something, giving in for the good of the general process, in which he is included - obviously or not. That is, mature altruism manifests itself (as opposed to immature altruism, which is used by egoists to manipulate immature altruists).

"White Magician" in modern representation- in our world interacts mainly with the Forces of Light (forces of explicit Order, Law and Power, supported by certain egregors, usually socialized), most often mistaking them for the Forces of Good. He gives himself over to them in Power or attracts them to his Help. A substitution often occurs - the Forces of Light take the magician into Power instead of the desired Forces of Good. The White Magician attracts Powers into his life (which for his subjective perception is not in point of balance, but there is initially shifted towards, mainly, the Forces of Darkness and Evil - which is not the same thing). At the call or invocation, the Forces, passing through the Magician, create this desired balance (in fact, violating the original objective picture of the balance of the Relationship of Forces). Then the Magician, through certain ritual actions, shifts the Balance to the Side of Light - for the sake of his own benefit, benefit and plans.

The White Magician is most often guided by the intellect, reason and the feelings that govern them, as well as certain spiritual Laws and Postulates, which are the morality of Light (which he perceives as his own morality).


Pure White Mage is extremely rare - it should display maximum individual Strength and Power, while Strength should subordinate Power. And the individual Power itself must be the embodiment of the Universal Power of Good beyond the individual characteristics of the magician. The Universal Power of Good gives the Pure White Magician the right to be it in his zone of vital responsibility, without directly influencing this zone.

He impersonally, outside of his own ambitions and preferences, serves to restore the original Balance in confrontation with the consequences of the influence of representatives of the forces of Evil. In a direct collision with the forces of Evil, he “puts” them in their place (if a demon ends up in our world, then the Pure White magician does not destroy the demon, but sends him to his home - to “hell”).

It is impossible to become a Pure White magician at will - the Forces of Good must choose him based on the presence of already manifested Spirituality, Morality, Strength, Altruism.


Evil– the original Force that uses the intention of individual parts of the Universe to manifest certain qualities and needs that lead to opposition to the Plan of Creation. Due to the fact that the entire created Universe lives precisely in the process of the Plan of Creation (there is simply no other), the manifestation of something contrary to the Plan by its individual parts can simply destroy this “evil” part - like trying to turn a train at high speed. to the side - without arrows. The train will derail and collapse.

In the external understanding of “evil,” the forces of evil prevent souls from gaining the “kingdom of heaven” after the Last Judgment. In the global understanding, Evil helps to separate the “wheat from the chaff”, constantly subjecting parts of the Universe to tests for compliance with the Plan and helping some of the Souls find their own world, which corresponds to their individuality - “fiery hell”.

Forces of Evil contribute to the fragmentation of the processes of the Universe, the opposition of the processes of “ours” to “others”, while the “alien” processes are destroyed, subordinated, and destabilized. The basis of Evil is the principle “It is good for one at the expense of harm to others.” At the same time, “one” has every right to the resources and life of any other, causing him obvious harm. That is, immature egoism manifests itself (in contrast to mature egoism, which tends to show conscious altruism).


In essence, Evil and Good are interacting Forces and enter into obvious confrontation only with inappropriate and untimely intervention of the opposite side in a certain process - let’s say, in a person’s life. So, if a person has committed some negative actions, consciously done an Evil deed, then the Forces of Evil will begin to test him for “belonging to Evil”: let’s say, they will send damage to him. And until a person realizes that the cause of damage is not in the people around him, but not in him, the Forces of Good should not heal him. And the forces of Evil have the right to defend corruption and weaken untimely healing.

Equally, when a person begins to put himself on the side of Good, the forces of Good begin to test him for “belonging to Good.” Moreover, this test is more difficult, since they not only put him in conditions where he can apply Good, but also in a situation where it is easier, more correct and more natural to manifest Evil. But even in such a situation, the Forces of Good patronize a person and the Forces of Evil do not have the right to take him away until his “belonging” is clearly demonstrated and he uses or refuses all the offered opportunities to choose the “side of Good.”


"Black magician» in modern terms– interacts mainly with the Forces of Darkness (the forces of primordial Chaos, Freedom and Choice), unfortunately, most often mistaking them for the Forces of Evil and behaves accordingly. He gives himself over to them in Power or attracts them to his Help. Nowadays, most often a substitution is made over the Magician - the Forces of Evil come instead of the Forces of Darkness. The Black Magician attracts Forces into his life (which is subjectively not at the point of Balance, shifted towards mainly the Forces of Light and Good - which, as you already know, is not always the same thing) and Forces, passing through the Magician, create precisely this “balance” (in fact, violating the original objective picture of the balance of the Relationship of Forces). Then the Magician, through certain ritual actions, shifts the Balance towards the summoned Forces - for the sake of his own benefit, benefit and plans.

The Black Magician is most often guided by intellect, reason and the passions that govern them, as well as the messages of individual needs, which he takes for the morality of Darkness or Evil (but in fact it is his own morality).

Pure Black Mage– individual Power and Strength should be maximally manifested in it, while Power should prevail over Strength. The Individual Power of such a magician is replaced by the Universal Power of Evil, which, through the magician, affects his area of ​​vital responsibility. A pure Black magician actively opposes the Forces of Good, restoring the original Balance; when colliding with representatives of the Forces of Good, he rejects them into their “area of ​​responsibility”, as a rule, influencing their living space (that is, in a collision with any of the Whites, he will not cause him for a “fight”, but will create an extremely difficult life for him - so that he leaves the zone that Cherny considers his). Direct confrontation occurs only if the Forces of Universal Evil act through a Pure Black magician in a collision with a strong Pure White magician - and on their own territory.

It is impossible to become a Pure Black Magician on your own– The Forces of Evil must choose a person for the already demonstrated Power, Morality, Selfishness and the predominance of the demands of Needs over spirituality. At the same time, the magician must absolutely consciously renounce the forces of Good and accept the Forces of Evil as those that control his life. A pure Black magician is endowed with such Power that he does not need any “social recognition”, since he considers “society” (actually any person other than himself) to be an absolutely insignificant value.


As a rule, between Pure White And Pure Black magicians maintain balance and neutrality - simply the Forces of Evil have nothing to do on the side of the Forces of Good (just as a bird cannot survive in water), and the Forces of Good have nothing to do on the side of the Forces of Evil. They defend their territories by dealing with “violators.” And if a person consciously placed himself in Evil, then the Pure White magician will not help him without his request, will not interfere in his choice.


Light White Mage– the most inhuman and principled version of the magician. He is convinced that all his actions bring Good and Light to all people and are extremely necessary for them. As a rule, it is these magicians who bring global Evil to humanity as a whole, creating various global social experiments of the “happiness for all” type due to global control and the introduction of a “chip of goodness and obedience” into everyone.

Dark White Mage- the most powerful of all magicians, inclined to take individual responsibility for the fate of both an individual person and all of humanity, and without self-interest or codependency.

Light Black Mage- the most common type of Light magicians who display one or another degree of “blackness”, striving for Power. As a rule, they lack Personal Power and are, one way or another, dependent on morality, while striving for obvious Power, expressed in public recognition. Although they consider people to be something inferior, they cannot live without their fear and submission. Through them, the Forces of Evil use the egregors of the Forces of Light for their own purposes.

Dark black magician- a complex option, usually embodied in magicians who have not been able to sufficiently defend their individual moral convictions and are driven by passions beyond the control of reason.


Gray Mage– is constantly located in the area of ​​the Balance Point and the initial balance of Forces. Subtly playing on the opposition of the Forces of Light and Darkness, Good and Evil, without surrendering to any of them, without serving any of them, but either pushing them together or attracting them with Treaties, shifts the Balance in the direction it needs - either towards Light or Darkness without disturbing the balance of Evil and Good.

The Gray Magician is most often guided by the recognition of his holistic nature, in which there are both passions and feelings, both reason and intelligence, both intellect and instinct, both individual needs and the needs of spiritual growth. He lives by individual morality, knowing the laws of morality, but not following them in his real life.

The Path of the Gray Mage is closest to the essence of the Path of the Runes.


In addition, in modern esotericism there are still types of certain “natural” magicians who are, as it were, in the center of balance, interacting and using certain Elements with which they are more inclined to work. Hence Green Magic, Red Magic, etc. These magicians are more prone to the Dark Side, as they prefer to use natural forces and strive for independence from society.


You can also distinguish magic by “traditional orientation” and the methods of work used: Northern Magic (based on Rune Magic), Kabbalah Magic, Egyptian Magic, Voodoo, Chinese Magic, Enochian Magic, Ceremonial Magic, etc. They all have their own characteristics and a shift in one direction or another - often towards Darkness.

Some of them belong to the “remakes”, growing out of the processes of romantic neo-paganism of the early 20th century. Prominent representatives of such magic are modern Wicca and Druidic magic - they have firmly won their place in modern esotericism. There really is no special magic in them, but there are a lot of beautiful and simple rituals, work on self-harmonization, meditation, etc.

In the above classification, these magics are at the level of gray magic with a bias either towards Darkness or towards Light - but without any special claims. First of all, because these magicians fail to really shift the Balance.


What kind of Magician to be is decided by the person himself.

Although there are certain innate individual characteristics that incline a person either to White or to Black, to Light or Darkness. From there you can already take the path of the Gray Magician - relying only on yourself and your own Powers. Or even enter into the Tradition, where there is no choice of Color. But this is the most difficult Path in magic.

In fact, the choice of “Color” depends on the moral and ideological orientation of the Magician.


In real Rune Magic there is no division into White or Black magic.

Rune Magic - it is based on a dense fusion of interaction between the Will of man and the original non-personified Forces of Creation - which are the Runes and with the personification of these Forces - the pantheon of the Nine Worlds.

It is these Forces that guide the practitioner of Runes along his individual life Path, which suddenly turns out to be merged with the Paths of Power and Creation.

The Forces lead the Practice of Runes both impersonally - in the form of advice and actions of the Runes, and personified - in the person of the Norns, Aesir and Vanir, as well as other personified Forces of the Northern Pantheon. The advice of the Runes as such makes it possible for the human consciousness to build its plans without contradicting the global plan of Creation. The advice of personified Forces makes a person a participant, assistant and executor of certain Higher Tasks with which the personified Forces are endowed from Above. Their fulfillment of these tasks serves in one way or another to implement the Plan of Creation.

It is extremely important to remember: The powers of the nine Worlds do not give money, wealth, love and comfort. They give a person the opportunity to find his own Path, endowed with a Higher Meaning - while on the acquired Path, money, love, comfort can act as necessary resources for moving on. Or they may not perform.


The Rune Practitioner, and even more so the Rune Mage (Eril), has to be very attentive and intense about Guidance on the Path. He has to realize the Three Streams of Will through his life:

1.Flow of Will Runes, who uses the life of eril as a canvas for the implementation of a certain Higher Plan created by the One (Creator, God, the Almighty - a certain primordial Demiurge).

If a practitioner turns to the Norns through the Runes for advice, then this very stream will very strictly be the axis of the life of the eril. That is, it will prevail over his individual Will and the life of the practitioner will take on the character of some inevitable fate.

2. Flow of the Will of the Aesir, which uses eril as the future and the present, valuable and irreplaceable in his role as a fighter of Ragnarok - an inevitable stage in the process of implementing the Plan of Creation and the life of every person who has entered the Path of the Runes.

To do this, the Ases give practice to difficult life situations in which you will have to show strength and power - if you turn to the Ases through the runes.

3. Flow of one's own Will- own plans, desires and battles - which, in terms of equivalence both for man and for the Universe, is no less than both the Higher Plan and the Ragnarok plan.


You don’t have to turn to the Aesir or Norns through the rune set, or to the One (not reflected in any way in the famous northern myths). Accordingly, one does not receive either the Flow of the Will of the Runes or the flow of the Will of the Aesir - but then the answers of the runes will be simply information and activation of only the personal powers of the Magician (not “eril” - the eril still knows and takes into account the strength and will of the Aesir and Norns). And his life will be to a small extent ensured by the Supreme Guidance - but there will be the illusion of Freedom. In this case, the rune symbols marked on the dies of the set will only be signs that need to be deciphered, and through them the consciousness of the practitioner will receive information from his extraconscious levels of the psyche.

Turning to the Aesir and Norns, turning to the One, the eril receives Guidance, but is deprived of the illusory freedom of choice, realizing that freedom is the only true choice made once and for all. Moreover, the choice is not “what to want” or “what to do,” but “who to be” and “with the Strength of whom to go.”


Hence, there is advice for those who work with Runes, but do not see the need to surrender to the global will of the Norns and Aesir, giving their lives as a gift to the Higher Will, depriving themselves of the opportunity to choose a life filled with human meaning:

When working with runes, you don’t need to turn to the Aesir or Norns all the time. Do this only if there is a clear need to resolve difficult situations or reach a new, radically different level of development.

At least, do not disturb the Aesir and Asin once again, bound by the strict destiny of Ragnarok.


Predictions: what you need for successful practice

From “Runes: the beginning” (NIKA, Kyiv)


As I already mentioned, runes are used (and quite widely) for predictions. This practice requires a number of magical attributes.

Depending on the level of work with Runes, the tools for working expand and become more complex. However, they usually do not expand beyond a rune set, a fortune-telling cloth, a set bag and a small number of ritual objects - bracelets, a personal amulet, a cup, a magic wand, candles, crystals, incense. The deepening of work occurs not due to the multiplication of artifacts, but due to their complication. This is how they move from a simple drawn set to a scorched one, then a cut one. A deeper level of work is provided by a set with the names of runes and gods of the Scandinavian pantheon, whose help is consistent with the action of the rune. But this level requires a very systematic approach, direct apprenticeship with a rune master, etc.

Let's look at the necessary tools for the simplest, but very effective level of work. I warn you right away - do not try to artificially increase the level of work and complicate the process of prediction itself - then the answers of the Runes will be complex and difficult to follow, and life will begin to give lessons that are extremely difficult to complete.

Rune set- the main and only prediction tool. The remaining items are just accompanying additions. Traditional materials for the set are wood, stone, bone. Wood is the most preferred material; it has both a good energy structure and gently merges with human energy. Stone is a very serious material and requires those working with it to have their own powerful energy. Bone is now an unsafe material. In ancient times, the bone for the set was taken from an animal sacrificed according to a certain cleansing ritual, sending the spirit of the animal to the higher spheres of the subtle world, in the service of certain deities. Now, unfortunately, dead energy passes through the bone, which is dangerous for the health of the owner.

Where can I get the set? You can make it yourself (more on that below), or you can buy it. There are a number of factors to consider when purchasing a kit. It is best if the set is made by a Rune Master - it is configured and ready to work in full. A set made in a production way can be “revitalized” (the corresponding technique was described by me in another work devoted to purely runic predictions). But he must be a “worker”. So:

1. The dies of the set must be rectangular, but not square or round. Otherwise, it will be very difficult to understand the direct or reverse position.

2. The image of the Runes must correspond to the traditional ones. Pay special attention to the image of Rune Fehu, Nautis, Eyvaz, Sovelu, Dagaz. An incorrect image of the Rune gives an incorrect subconscious reaction and, as a result, affects the correct understanding of the answer.

3. The material should be wood. A stone set will be expensive, and the quality of work at a simple level will not differ at all from a wooden one. Avoid sets made of baked clay - they tend to embody the most negative and stressful situations in your life.

4. Images of Runes must be either cut and painted, or burned out. Avoid sets with runes “embossed” in shape - their energy is very weak.

There are so-called “rune cards”. They are divided into two types - practically sets, where the card simply depicts a Rune (often incorrectly), and analogues of Tarot cards depicting mythological subjects, corresponding to the interpretations of the Runes. Cards of the first type are energetically weak, and it is better to make your own rune set using the method proposed below. Cards with pictures are preferable, but are rare. In addition, they require knowledge of at least the basics of Scandinavian mythology.

Self-made kit. It is not as simple as is usually announced in the popular literature. An appropriate attitude and rituals are necessary if you are planning to make a set of wood. But! As practice shows, for very successful work on a simple, real level, a cardboard-based set is very effective. Firstly, the base here is still wooden (cellulose). Secondly, it is easy to manufacture. Thirdly, it is easily restored if a rune is lost and can be carried freely with you. You can make it either in the form of a set (the size of the die is about 1.5 x 2.5 cm), or in the form of cards - whichever is convenient for you. In addition, such a set provides more information than energy influences - and it is better to learn from it to take the first steps, without fear of your own mistakes and their consequences.

Tools and materials. The tools you will need are a knife for cutting cardboard, a ruler, a pencil and what you will use to apply the runes. This could be a felt-tip pen, marker, paint. As a rule, the selected instruments should be collected together, wrapped in white cloth and placed in a secluded place for a week in order to weaken the already existing energy connections of the objects with people and reality. The same goes for materials. Ideally, the best material is thick cardboard with a white coating on at least one side. Since the set must look aesthetically beautiful, effort should be put into finding the material.

What to do before creating a set? First of all, think in detail and plan the appearance of the set: a convenient size of the dies, the possibility of rounding corners, the color of the runes... It’s good to practice writing runes. You should find the right attitude - you will still create a “means of communication” with your future, with higher powers, create an adviser and assistant. Start setting up at least a week in advance - thinking, reading literature, preparing materials. You can choose appropriate music, incense, candles. The day of production of the set must be precisely chosen. According to tradition, entry-level runes are done either on Wednesday or Friday. Wednesday is the day of Odin, the supreme male ace god of the Scandinavians. Here the set will be more logical and consistent. Friday is the day of Asinya Freya, the patroness of women's magic and intuition. A set made on Friday will give more intuitive answers and unexpected angles on situations. But if your work schedule involves another free day, don’t complicate your life, do the set at a convenient time. The same applies to the time of day. Traditionally, runes are made at turning points - dawn, sunset, noon or midnight. But you may not be able to maintain the tradition - the simple level does not provide for this.

How to make a set? First choose the appropriate environment. It’s good if it’s somewhere in nature - a forest, mountains, near a pond. Your own garden or even a loggia with flowers will do. But you can do everything at home, in a familiar environment - the power of the set will not suffer from this. The main thing: no one should disturb you for about an hour, you should not rush anywhere or worry about anything. You may want to sleep after creating the set; the process is energy-intensive. Although the option of actively increasing energy cannot be ruled out.

Prepare the place and prepare yourself. It is advisable to fast slightly on this day and get enough energy (in tradition, this moment is preceded by a month’s fast). Place your instruments in front of you, turn on music, burn incense, etc., and focus. Clearly understand your goal and the tasks to be solved. Then, with decisive and precise actions, draw a sheet of cardboard into 25 rectangles and begin cutting them out. Having cut it out, place it in front of you on a clean piece of white cloth (it contained tools), peer at them and, touching them gently, select the rectangle that you feel is most suitable for the first rune, Fehu. Place it in front of you, look at it and try to see the rune on a white background. Only then apply the rune accurately and confidently. What color you choose is up to you. In ancient times, runes were usually painted with paints, sometimes even with the blood of a rune master. Now this is absolutely not necessary. Color affects the levels of impact a set has on your mind and the world around you. Red gives great energy of the material plane. Blue or light blue - the energy of knowledge, spirituality. Green - mutual understanding. The color black is often used: in northern magic it is the color of attraction and collection of everything necessary and consistent manifestation in the desired form.

Draw runes accurately and clearly, and avoid stylization and embellishment, especially in your first set. And there can be several sets; a set can also be created for serious, special prediction. Let's say you have a plan in mind for something, and in order for it to come true, you create a set for analysis and prediction of this particular thing, after the prediction, you fold the set, tie it with a triple thread (red, black and blue) and hide it. After the event occurs, the set is burned. You can also make sets only for predictions for yourself, predictions for others, or predictions on issues of love, business, etc. Considering the not too high energy of the cardboard set, this “separation of spheres of influence” allows you to more powerfully concentrate forces and make the prediction more effective.

What to do later? Having created a set, leave it on a white canvas, laying it out according to the Futhark scheme. So the set should lie until the next morning. After this, you can begin the active practice of predictions, and the set should be constantly carried with you for at least a month (meaning the main, personal set).

Predictive canvas. In tradition, runes are always laid out on a specially made canvas. It symbolizes the space of the Universe and Time. The magical patterns and inscriptions applied to it seem to protect Law and Order, on which a person relies when planning and carrying out his own activities. Depending on the level of work, there will be a level of both complexity and magic applied to the canvas. In tradition, the canvas must be created by the person himself (as opposed to the possibility of working with a purchased set). Creating a canvas is not a one-day task. You should approach it thoroughly, calculating every pattern and stitch. Most often, the canvas is embroidered. Such a serious approach implies a decision to continue working with runes for a very long time and seriously. The image on them, as a rule, is taken from the European cultural tradition - Slavic, Scandinavian, Celtic. When selecting an image, focus on working with runes. It’s as if you offer the runes a proposed design and ask: “Does it need to be embroidered on canvas?” And only if the answer is “Yes” (see below) you apply the chosen one to the canvas.

In the simple version, your predictive canvas should also be simple. Most often it is white, blue, scarlet, green - bright, natural colors. Its size should not be very small; the rune layouts of your set should fit on it. In principle, you can use a clean white sheet every time, and in extreme cases, put the runes on a regular surface.

Rune pouch- this is a mandatory attribute: a place to live and store your set. Like the canvas, it is created at a serious level and can be decorated with a wide variety of patterns and symbols. You can choose a ready-made bag, but be sure to complement it with your own creativity. For a simple level, the bag can be simple. The main condition is the presence of a string and a free size: it must fit both the set itself and the predictive canvas. Often they make a bag out of leather - it is preferable for cardboard, it is more rigid and does not allow the cardboard to deform. For the same practical reasons, the bag for the cardboard set is made flatter. If you have many sets, then it is absolutely not necessary to place each one in a separate bag. They can be stored wrapped in pieces of cloth. Their color should correspond to the purpose of the set: for thoughts - blue, for actions - scarlet, for money - green, etc.

Since it is in the bag that you will carry the set with you, make it strong and non-staining.

Related attributes. They are not required, but if you decide to use them, you should use them correctly. Accompanying attributes usually include music, incense, and candles. The music should be related to ethnic European themes: Celtic, Slavic or mystical, or Enigma or Enya compositions. You should not use Indian mantras or heavy, destructive music. Incense should be natural and best of all coniferous, stimulating the functioning of the brain. Candles are traditionally used in blue or light blue, but I have already mentioned color meanings. The main thing is that the color of the candles should be bright, and the candle itself should be shiny and smooth. In tradition, before a session, they sometimes drink a sip of dark beer, dedicating it to the ace Odin, the patron of rune predictions. But that's up to your taste.


Runes: practice of predictions

Fortune telling or prediction? These two terms seem to be synonymous, but in fact they are very different. Fortune telling is a way to find out the future, to catch luck, to chance - will it work out or not? It is not for nothing that the main method of fortune telling is carried out on a deck of 36 sheets - essentially a gaming deck. Fortune telling is always a game with fate. In fortune telling, what happens will have to come true. And only one, not always the most probable or best, version of the future is guessed very clearly.

Prediction is a way to realize, understand and act on the future. All ancient systems (Runes, I Ching, Tarot...) are predictive. The purpose of predictions is to see the possibilities of the future, understand what they are conditioned from the past and how one should behave in the present to obtain the best option (from those provided in the prediction). The prediction is always, as it were, generalized, or rather, universal. The task of the predictor is to comprehend the general meaning of the Rune in a real individual situation. Prediction shows a person his ability to be free.

In the Runic worldview system, power always belongs to man. We can and must make choices and follow them. There is a Creator and there is a person. Runes are the Creator’s hints to man, that is, to you. Hints about the most faithful actions, the best deeds, the most important events. Runic prediction is an opportunity to read and understand the signs given to us.

Although there are 25 Runes, among them there are symmetrical and asymmetrical. Asymmetrical ones have two positions: direct and reverse (inverted). The meanings of the positions are different. Asymmetrical Runes seem to have two sides of manifestation, and whichever person chooses, that’s how the process will go. Often the meaning of the reverse Rune is identified with something bad and dark. In fact, in the opposite situation, a person simply has to resolve certain conflicts, struggle to get what he needs, or, conversely, wait out this time. That is, you should make an effort. In straight and symmetrical runes, everything happens more or less smoothly and easily. In direct situations, they are more obvious, almost demonstrative. But in the inverted ones everything is hidden and veiled. For example, Rune Anzus - “mouth”, Rune of communication, exchange and receipt of information, its acceptance and trust. In an upright position, we “open our mouths”, listen to the interlocutor and, inspired by his speech, take action. Or we ourselves openly and openly talk about something. And the opposite Anzus is “silence”. But silence is eloquent. We are silent, but with all our appearance we show our attitude to the situation. Either we didn’t seem to accept the interlocutor’s point of view, rejected it, but the information is still there, but we don’t want to notice it. So it pushes a person along its path subconsciously, hiddenly, indirectly.

The main method of choosing Runes. When working with a wooden set, Runes can be selected in different ways: by taking them out of the bag, turning them over in your hands, or literally throwing them over the predictive field. The cardboard set offers two options to choose from. The first is “shuffling” the Runes and laying them out like cards. At the same time, we hold the Runes face down and remove the Runes from the top of the deck. When shuffling, you should very accurately follow the feeling of when to stop. In this case, you can immediately fill out the layout or make a new shuffle before each item. Second method: The runes in the closed position are laid out on the canvas in the form of a round “spot” very chaotically. Mix the Runes with circular movements of the hand. By rotating counterclockwise, you attract the situation to yourself, draw it into your life. Rotating clockwise, you penetrate the situation, enter something new, into the future. Having asked a question, you pass your hand over the Runes and take the rune that “responded”: there is a feeling of warmth, a push, sometimes the hand drops itself or does not move further. You need to move your hand gently, without straining. You place the rune on the alignment point in the closed position.

How to conduct a session. It is very important that after reading the information presented here you do not get the impression that Runes are either completely simple, or that the information provided is greatly simplified. Growth in Rune mastery also implies an increase in both the complexity of the work and the depth of information. But each level has its own limit of simplicity - it is precisely this that is necessary for successful work. This also applies to the Rune session. Of course, you can surround all this with high and continuous ritualization, select a special time, wear special clothes, read spells loudly, etc. At the level we propose, this will only worsen the result. Simplicity is the key to success. Your task is to put yourself in the right state: concentrate, calm down, concentrate on the problem at hand and on the upcoming session. Unfold the canvas, lay out the runes. It would be good if you keep a special diary to record the progress of your predictions. Write the date, the problem, the question being asked, determine what schedule you decided to use. Place your hands on the runes, greet them and ask for help. Then ask the question clearly and start choosing runes.


Predictive meanings of Runes

As already mentioned, Runes have at least three aspects: predictive, spiritual, magical. The predictive aspect reveals to us visible, explicit, both universal-universal and everyday manifestations of Runes in our world.
