  • Important Topics

This section will cover a lot of topics.

on various aspects, so please read carefully, many of your questions have been answered.

For those who did not serve, or served, but want to know how it is now, I will show the briefing of the daily outfit.
Since the weather was inclement, the rain turned to snow, the whole squad took raincoats, which are still used by soldiers as protection from rain, along with OZK

While it was raining on the parade ground, we had to roll out raincoats and cover ourselves with them. As usual, someone did not take them

As you can see, there is inconsistency: an assistant on duty for a brigade in a parade and a camouflage jacket, one of the sergeants in a raincoat jacket, soldiers in raincoats

It can be seen that one of the soldiers in the front row in boots asked why. It turns out that all soldiers have boots, but sometimes, if they get wet, leaky, you can wear boots as a substitute

After collecting all the outfits from the units, a small formation under the drum to the main briefing place. Please note that the soldier is listening to either the radio or music, which does not prevent him from clearly beating the rhythm))

The foreman of the company (by the way, he is a contract soldier) conducts a survey of duties

Immediately I saw the briefing of the reinforcement unit, which should act in the event of an attack on a part, for example, a gang group. Some covers on helmets are obviously homemade, and very rough, what's the problem with fitting normally - xs

Walkie-talkies for commanders of new generation groups - R-168th platoon level

But at the same time, the old R-159 somehow ended up there. Why the hell? There is a great mystery, given that the brigade is full of R-168-0.5UM, which is designed to replace it

Judging by the armament (AKS-74U), the reinforcement unit was recruited from a tank battalion or self-propelled gunners, which is generally speaking strange. At the same 7th military base, infantry was in the anti-terror and reinforcement unit

After brief instructions from the commander

The reinforcement unit began training - separate groups took up positions on the corners of buildings, others bypassed the mock enemy, etc. I asked the guys, and this is just for me, they are now running, the answer was that every briefing. Well then it's good

Now I'll tell you about the evening verification. Due to bad weather, it was carried out after an evening walk (two laps along the parade ground with a song) at the location of the company. The foreman of the company reads the list, and the soldier, having heard his last name, replies: "I!"

Then the command comes to disperse, take off their clothes and line up according to form No. 1 for a physical examination. It is carried out by the foreman of the company and the medical instructor. Look for bruises (evidence of non-regulation), any signs of skin diseases
I took pictures of the guys standing in the ranks. There are no dokhlyakov. Underwear is changed once a week (but it can be washed if you wish), they give out either green, a new sample, or still good old white underpants and shirts

The camera lost focus a little, but I think it is clear that there are no frail boys in the line

One of the guys complained about the temperature, the medical officer gave a thermometer. I noticed this by chance, specifically asked to turn around and took a picture

Some do not part with phones even in the ranks))

    Cool tattoos for boys

He specifically asked how often inspections are carried out, they say, are they showing off. The foreman replied that every day, since unscheduled inspections by the prosecutor's office with exactly the same inspection are very frequent. Any bruise on a soldier threatens with serious problems in the service of the commander.

Naturally asked for hazing. Here the situation is as follows: in the company, all the privates are of the same call (this spring), the sergeants are six months more. In addition, the entire company consists of conscripts from Moscow and the Moscow region, many soldiers see their parents every weekend, everyone has phones, so there is simply no hazing, the soldiers themselves talk about this with visible satisfaction. Unfortunately, we managed to communicate with only one division on this matter, as in others - a question.

Raised the issue of military personnel called up from the Caucasus. There were no such people in the company, the company commander simply does not take them to his unit, but from the conversations it was clear that there were problems with them. Like, they don’t want to stand on duty, for example, but the elders are welcome. Particularly intractable are sent to a guardhouse by court order (there are such servicemen in the battalion), but, as I understand it, this does not solve the problem. There is not a single soldier from the battalion who is in disbat.

Now another important issue - the five-day period. It was widely advertised that the soldiers would be released on leave for the weekend from the unit (up to 30% of the payroll), even on TV there was a story about this, three experimental motorized rifle companies were created for this, recruited exclusively from Muscovites, in order to test the innovation on them, but... It was never launched, there are no orders regulating such layoffs, so so far there has not been a single case. Nevertheless, conscripts are released without problems for a day if their parents come to visit, which the latter quite often take advantage of.

There is a cleaning of the territory and premises of soldiers' dormitories by civilian personnel. 2 times a day they sweep a little, wash the central halls, stairwells, but the soldiers themselves still clean up in their cockpits (every evening the sergeant appoints cleaners from the squad). The outfits for the territory also remained, constantly several people clean up the garbage, rake the leaves, etc.
I saw a soldier with brooms

Well, here are the girls from the civilian staff. They were very shy of the camera and just ran away, hardly took a few shots

    Now the most different infa.
    - Soldiers in a company are on average 20 years old (even in Gudauta, I noticed that there are almost no 18-year-old conscripts), the oldest is 24. A certain percentage of them have higher education.
    - Monetary allowance of a conscript - 430 rubles, contract serviceman approx. 10000, platoon commander - 14000.
    - If the majority of officers still receive bonuses under the 400th order, which are called grandees here (platoon commander - 34,800 rubles, company commander - 48,000, etc.), then contract soldiers do not receive any additional bonuses, serve near Moscow for " few people want a chervonets, and there is no recruitment now, so there are very few contract soldiers in the brigade. In the company where I was, there are only two of them
    - payments under the 115th order (quarterly bonus) are not actually made, there was one payment in August of this year (emnip 17,000 contract soldiers and 70,000 officers), and one last year. Why this is so is a great mystery. It's a pity I didn't meet with the boss.
    - The officers who receive bonuses under the 400th order about motivation for service themselves say (of course - a platoon leader can have a total of 53,000, a company commander - 65,000), and I understand that quite a lot of people receive this bonus. In the 1st company (mine)) out of four officers, three receive it, the "disenfranchised" is a young lieutenant who served less than a year. The peculiarity of accruing the 400th order is that it is paid to those officers who served well last year, and payments go monthly in the current year, therefore, nothing is due to the lieutenant from the school.
    - All money, both for soldiers and officers, is transferred to plastic cards. There are four ATMs on the territory of the unit, you can cash out in them (this is not enough, there are queues). This is not bad for conscripts because parents can send a money transfer directly to the card.
    - The officers would very much like the return of contract servicemen, at least to the positions of sergeants. Easier to work and better prepared.
    - I already wrote about the free use of mobile phones. Conscripts are even given free Beeline SIM cards with cheap tariffs.
    - The new officer's uniform ("pixel") is comfortable to wear, but after one or two washes it sheds noticeably, fades in the sun. Someone is already used to epaulettes on the "belly", someone actively does not like it. Some of the officers have not yet been issued new pea coats, they say, the period for wearing the old ones has not yet expired, so many of the pea coats are still "flora".
    - For demobilization, conscripts receive from 1,000 to 5,000 rubles, I did not have time to find out the relationship, I suspect that it depends on the distance to the house, measured in travel days.
    - Contractors are required to be exclusively on the territory of the unit, even at night, if you live in the barracks. You can leave the checkpoint only from 12.00 to 14.00 and from 18.00 to 20.00. Family, if they do not live in a hostel, but rent an apartment somewhere, of course, it is not forbidden to leave for the night.
    - There are graduates of officer schools in the brigade, who, due to an overabundance of officers in a new guise, agreed to serve as castle platoon commanders. At the same time, they walk in lieutenant's shoulder straps. I didn't see them myself.

The place of deployment of the 2nd Guards Tamanskaya Motorized Rifle Order of the October Revolution, the Red Banner Order of the Suvorov Motorized Rifle Division, or military unit 23626, is the village of Kalininets, Moscow Region.

    Story

The Taman division was formed in Kharkov in 1940. True, then it was called the 127th Rifle Division, which participated during the Great Patriotic War as part of the Reserve, Bryansk, Baltic, Transcaucasian and other fronts, as well as the Primorsky Army. For distinction in the battles near Kursk and in the Baltic zone, the formation was renamed the 2nd Guards Rifle Division, and for the liberation of Taman it was given the name Tamanskaya. After the Great Patriotic War, the formation was stationed on the Zemland Peninsula.
At the end of 1953, the unit was renamed again, but already in the 23rd Guards Mechanized Division, which received the status of a motorized rifle division in 1957. At the end of 1964, "in order to preserve military traditions," as stated in the order of the USSR Ministry of Defense, the 23rd Rifle Division became the 2nd Guards Motorized Rifle Division.

    Patch of the Taman division

A year after the military reform of 2008, the Taman division was disbanded and the 5th motorized rifle brigade was created on its basis, which inherited the combat flag and awards of the previous division. The unit was considered experimental and belonged to the Moscow Military District, and its headquarters, better known as military unit 23626, was located in the village of Kalininets.
In early May 2013, the Tamanskaya motorized rifle division was recreated. The unit includes EW companies, commandant's offices, RHBZ (4th military camp), repair company (1st military town), VUNA and BUAR (3rd military town) and belongs to the Western Military District.

    eyewitness impressions

The material and living conditions of service are more than good, as the soldiers themselves note. The barracks was replaced by a soldier's dormitory, the cubicles of which are designed for 4-8 people. Each of them has a shower room and a bathroom, and a washing machine and a "dryer" - one per unit. In the barracks of military unit 23626 there is also a recreation room, a sports corner, a billiard room, a library and a mini-cinema.

    Room in the cockpit

There are two dining rooms, and the divisions eat in the order of a two-stream queue. Cooking is done by civilian personnel, so soldiers do not step into the outfits in the kitchen. Also on the territory of the unit are chipok (the Dixy store), a first-aid post, the Garrison House of Officers, a hostel and a bath and laundry plant.
In such a unit as the Taman division, special attention is paid to the physical training of military personnel - 4 hours a day are allotted for it. The compulsory cross-country skiing is also included in the PHYSICAL classes. The classes themselves take place either on the parade ground or in one of the sports complexes. There are two of them on the territory of the unit, each has gyms, a swimming pool and a football field. FIZO soldiers visit in sportswear.

    Hall in the dining room

Combat training includes firing at the Alabino training ground (departure - 2 times a week) and planned combined arms exercises. They are also held in Alabino. As for military affairs, the soldiers study not only the regulations, but also acquire theoretical knowledge about the types of military weapons used in the Taman division.
An innovation for many military personnel was the obligatory afternoon nap, from 14.00 to 15.00.
To date, the Tamanskaya division is one of the few military units in Russia where it is allowed to use mobile phones. True, during training and shooting they are in the off state, because otherwise the mobiles are confiscated from the entire unit for 24 hours. For the period of checks, the phones are handed over to the commander of the unit: accounts in social networks, the number of incoming and outgoing calls, MMS and SMS messages are viewed.

    household room

Among telecom operators, employees of military unit 23626 recommend choosing Megafon or MTS, and Beeline SIM cards are issued as part of the Call Mom program even at the military registration and enlistment office.
There is no hazing and hazing in such a unit as military unit 23626. Soldiers undergo daily medical and physical examinations. In addition, the unit has a psychological support service.

Soldiers do not take part in cleaning up the territory - this is done by civilian personnel. But the park maintenance day on Saturdays and the daily cleaning of the barracks remained as traditional work or disciplinary sanctions. Among the latter, additional physical activity is also used.
Conscripts in a unit such as military unit 23626 receive cash subsidies on a VTB Bank card at the end of each month.

    In the leisure room

There are 4 ATMs in the garrison itself, the military camp and at the checkpoint:

    • MIB: military unit 23626, at the checkpoint (open from 8.00 to 19.00);
    • VTB-24: at the checkpoint of military unit 55338 (open from 8.00 to 20.00);
    • Sberbank of Russia: in the DOS area (works around the clock);
    • SMP-Bank: near the Produkty store (open 24/7).

On the morning of the 13th, the 1st company, in which I lived, was supposed to have planned firing. According to the statement, they received 1800 cartridges for machine guns (30 per brother), 450 for machine guns and SVD and 27 rounds for RPGs (3 per shooter). Of course, I asked the soldiers how much they shoot on ordinary days, not burdened by the arrival of the writing brethren. The guys said that they shoot every week, the ammunition consumption is about the same (grenade launchers mentioned that sometimes they have 4 shots), during exercises such as combat firing squads, platoons, company tactical exercises, they can shoot daily up to a week. All the rank and file in the company of the same call, each of them has already participated in the BSO, BSV, RTU, they say that soon there will be battalion exercises (BTU). Since BTUs are held every six months, the sergeants, who have been serving for almost a year, participated in them. For example, for my service in Abkhazia, I took part in 2 BTU.

Here the soldiers, having received weapons, are equipped. These tables are for cleaning weapons.

The brigade has a practice according to which for shooting and other exercises where a gas mask is required, but it is not necessary to wear it, take the old GP-5. Brand new gas masks are used only for training in RKhBZ, so do not be surprised if junk flickers on the fighters))

The platoon that received the weapon takes the material base for training and goes out to build on the parade ground

In a company of 9 machine guns (1 per squad), 2 - "Pechenegs", the rest - PK

Where are the truth-telling fighters talking about the new berets of soldiers?)))

Recently, the crew number for the machine gunner has finally been introduced into the squad, so now there is someone to carry zinc

The medical officer of the company is still with the old bag, but the brigade is already receiving newer samples

In addition to the sniper platoon, each motorized rifle squad now has a full-time sniper. Their SVDs are ordinary, but not beaten by life, they are new, they shoot regularly, but so far there is trouble with special sniper training. On the basis of a platoon, they must take special courses, but in six months they still won’t be able to collect everything. Unfortunately, we have an old and unresolved problem with sniping

A fighter in a signal vest will go at the head of the column to the shooting range, and on the spot provide a cordon. It also has a R-168-0.1UM radio station and another one that I have never encountered (the fighter says that it is also the 168th)

Here is a machine gunner with a PC and it is clearly visible that the helmet cover is factory-made, with ties

Other divisions of the battalion were also preparing for classes.

I'm waiting for the next comments, that the form is new and all this is window dressing

Here is another fighter with an unidentified walkie-talkie

Here is a mortar with something similar. In the background - the harsh Russian infantry: "From two hands, in Macedonian, pli!")))

Arriving at the shooting range, we learned the unpleasant news - the shooting was postponed until half past twelve, the airfield was nearby, we had to wait for the end of the flights. The soldiers were assigned to training points and training began.
I want to remind you that almost all the guys serve for six months and are still studying, so there is no need to shout triumphantly: “And in this episode he put his foot wrong! They can’t do anything!”. These are regular workouts and the boys have another 6 months to learn how to properly perform certain exercises.
Ready for firing grenade launchers. It can be seen that the fighter in the center kneels incorrectly. In the future, at the firing line, such errors are constantly corrected by the platoon commander.

Disassembly-assembly of the RPG-7. I was really pleased that the guys do it confidently, which means they train regularly. There is a bag with a tool available, which is usually not found in the combat unit during the day with fire. When I found out that there are batteries for the PGO (sight for a grenade launcher), and there is an eternal problem with them, I was surprised at the word

Looked at throwing training grenades. It was clearly seen that the fighters were trained in the correct swing, confidently commenting on the mistakes of their comrades: "Damn, you let her go early! Why are you in a hurry!"

A barrel of tar was the situation with obtaining training fuses for grenades. It turned out that the guys had never dealt with them. The sergeants had to throw a combat one, but the privates for six months never had to throw either a combat one or a training one. Unconditional bug. I had to show the boys how the training fuse was assembled, and since I myself collected it last time in 1999, I got a little confused (the combat ones were good, but I dealt with the assembly of training only on an urgent basis. In Abkhazia, metal was already assembled training).

At this time, the deputy brigade commander drove up, and, having learned that the firing was postponed, he suggested that I film the classes of the rest of the battalion. And here there were already a lot of goodies. Directly behind the barracks there is a tactical camp where absolutely all units that are part of the motorized rifle battalion can train.
Teachings of a grenade launcher platoon (GDV)
Disassembly-assembly of AGS. The fighter does it very confidently

And this is the deployment of calculations in positions

The calculation of the ATGM takes a position. It is a pity that without a rocket model, it is clear that they were in a hurry. I asked if they had shootings, they answered that not yet, but they promise

Here you can see the readiness for battle, aiming and conditional firing of a mortar platoon. I really liked the coordinated actions of the guys, you can immediately see they trained a lot

But the scouts managed not only to shoot, but also to talk with them. There are no "Patrols" in the brigade, reconnaissance on armored personnel carriers, but drones are actively used. There are two types "Dragonfly" and "Pear", with a video camera and a camera. The resolution of the camera is 15 mega pixels, so from a height of 200 meters you can easily read license plates on cars. Above 200 m and beyond 5-6 km, they don’t launch yet, they say, the device can be lost, but experience, including emergency landings, is already there))). Unfortunately, the devices themselves were not provided.
Also guys actively use tablets with GPS

You can view the area, make marks, see all the fighters of the unit and much more

    GPS equipment attached to soldiers

Close-range reconnaissance stations, binoculars and other equipment used by reconnaissance

Next, I filmed the soldiers training in the new OZK-F protective suits that the entire brigade is equipped with.

    They were smoked with smoke))

Unfortunately, the wind changed direction and it was almost impossible to remove the fighters in the puffs of smoke.

And this is the degassing of weapons after the use of chemicals by opponents

    Same thing with armored vehicles.

    This is the device used

On the right is the PMK-2 gas mask, on the left is the newer PMK-3, which is being re-equipped with troops

This medical platoon is training in the evacuation of the wounded from armored vehicles. Again, it is clear that the guys are doing this is not the first time.

This communications platoon is training. Radios - R-168-0.5UM new generation

Here is a vole being pulled

This device came to replace the good old TA-57.
Ta-88, no need to turn the knob

    Radio R-168-0.1 UME

Worn over the shoulder, the headset is attached to the head

    Remote control for recording frequencies

    Sappers trained in undermining charges

Here they fired at low-flying air targets

Here the infantrymen showed shooting with crawling under barbed wire

So that no one doubts - the fighters really crawled))

But it is better to save the machines

Finally, the squad advanced with a fight through the ravine, but I was warned too late, so I managed to shoot only individual fighters at the end
