Therefore, lazy cabbage rolls always help me out in this situation, since this dish harmoniously combines meat, rice, vegetables and sauce. And my kids eat them with pleasure, whereas in classic cabbage rolls they always eat only minced meat, and I have to finish the cabbage. Of course, lazy cabbage rolls look different from real ones, but they are not inferior in taste. But I save energy and time for other useful things.

Lazy cabbage rolls are cutlets made from cabbage, minced meat and rice, baked or stewed in sauce. In the very simple version These are not even cutlets, but cabbage, minced meat, rice and vegetables stewed in sauce. • Even an experienced chef cannot make something truly tasty from low-quality products. Therefore, pay attention to the composition of the minced meat, its category, production date and expiration date. It’s even better to cook it yourself from meat of which you are confident.
  • It happens that cabbage is slightly bitter. In this case, you need to chop it and put it in a bowl for 5 minutes. hot water, then remove and squeeze.
  • Rice for lazy cabbage rolls needs to be boiled until half cooked. Otherwise, it may not have time to cook and will remain hard, which is not in the best possible way will affect the taste of the dish.

  • Spices - 2 g.
  • Water - 500 ml.

Recipe of dish.

Let's prepare the ingredients. Peel the onions and carrots, wash the tomatoes, and remove the top leaves from the cabbage. Rinse the rice.

Place the water in the saucepan on the fire.

After boiling, add rice to the saucepan and cook over low heat (I have 5 out of 9) for 10 minutes.

While the rice is cooking, prepare the cabbage. It needs to be finely chopped.

Pour boiling water over the cabbage for 5-10 minutes until it becomes soft and pliable for forming cutlets. Then drain the water and squeeze well.

While the cabbage is softening, prepare the minced meat. We pass the meat through a meat grinder (if you are using ready-made minced meat, it is also better to grind it once more, the cabbage rolls will turn out more tender). I grind the onion together with the minced meat (too lazy to cut), but you can chop it finely. If you are too lazy to finely chop the cabbage, you can also pass it through a meat grinder and then squeeze out the juice.

Well, the rice is already ready (you need to boil it until half cooked).

Wash the rice, but not too much so that it remains sticky. You can not rinse it, but simply cool it, but I never have time for that. Add our rice, egg, cabbage, salt and spices to the minced meat with onions.

Mix all minced meat ingredients thoroughly.

We form cutlets from the minced meat and roll them in breadcrumbs on both sides.

Place all the cutlets on a baking sheet of a suitable size (this one is small, 4 cutlets did not fit). And we send our dish to an oven preheated to 200 C.

While the lazy cabbage rolls are simmering in the oven, prepare the sauce. Grate the carrots, and chop the tomatoes and onions finely. Or you can grind everything in a meat grinder, as I did, this is completely for the lazy). Add salt and spices to the mixture.

Fry the prepared vegetables in a hot frying pan with oil for 5 minutes (I cook at 8 out of 9). You can also add tomato paste here, then the taste of the sauce will be a little sour.

During the season, you can use chanterelles, russula or boletus. IN winter time you will have to limit yourself to champignons or oyster mushrooms. To improve the taste and aroma, add some dried wild mushrooms to the sauce.

Option 4: Lazy cabbage rolls in the oven in tomato and sour cream sauce with sauerkraut

This recipe is considered extremely simple. No need to waste time processing cabbage, just buy a bucket of sauerkraut. Instead of tomato juice you can use canned tomatoes, pureed in a blender.

Ingredients:

  • Rice - 500 g;
  • Sauerkraut - 1 kg;
  • Garlic - 3 cloves;
  • 3 onions;
  • Minced meat - 750 g;
  • Sour cream - 70 g;
  • Oil for frying - 50 ml;
  • Tomato juice - 1.5 l.

How to cook

You need to start, as always, by preparing rice. Boil it in salted water for about 15 minutes after the liquid boils.

Peel the onion and garlic and chop finely. Heat half the prepared oil in a frying pan and fry all three onions in it.

Squeeze the cabbage. Combine it with garlic, add cooled rice and onion. Salt and pepper to taste.

Mix the minced meat thoroughly. Add it to the rest of the ingredients and stir. Form small cutlets from the resulting mass.

Grease the baking pan with the remaining oil. At the same time, turn on the oven at 180°.

Place the lazy cabbage rolls into the pan. Place them in the oven for 20 minutes.

Mix low-fat sour cream with tomato juice. Pour the resulting sauce over the cabbage rolls and cover the heat-resistant bowl tightly with foil. Return the dish to the oven for another hour and a half.

To ensure that the products keep their shape well without pre-frying, use fatty meat. A mixture of pork and beef is perfect for making cabbage rolls; you can even add a little lamb.

Option 5: Lazy diet cabbage rolls in the oven with tomato-sour cream sauce

To make cabbage rolls less caloric, you can cook them without rice. Instead of fatty minced meat, use chicken fillet. If everything is done correctly, the dish will turn out very juicy and healthy.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken fillet - 0.5 kg;
  • Large onion;
  • Garlic - 3 cloves;
  • Cabbage - 0.5 kg;
  • Greek yogurt - 200 ml;
  • Tomato paste - 30 g;
  • Sour cream - 20 g;
  • Carrot - 75 g;
  • Salt, spices.

Step by step recipe

Peel all vegetables. Cut the carrots and onions into quarters, and chop each clove of garlic in half. Place these ingredients in a blender bowl and grind.

Cut the fillet into small strips. Add it to vegetables, re-process the products with a blender. Instead, you can run them through a meat grinder. Season the resulting minced meat with salt and pepper.

Shred the cabbage, then mash it thoroughly with your hands. To save time, you can grate the vegetable. Add cabbage to the minced meat, mix well again.

While the oven preheats to 180 degrees, let's prepare the sauce. To do this, you need to combine tomato paste, yogurt and low-fat sour cream in one bowl. If necessary, add a little water. Salt the sauce and add spices.

With wet hands, form minced meat into patties. Place them on a baking sheet. Add water to cover each cabbage roll approximately halfway. Pour 2/3 of the tomato-sour cream sauce on top.

Cover the pan with cabbage rolls with foil and place it in the oven for 40 minutes. Then you will need to remove the foil and pour the remaining sauce over each cutlet. Let them bake for another 5 minutes.

If you don't want to give up grains in the recipe, use brown rice rather than round rice. It contains more iron, vitamins and cellulose. In addition, brown rice will help you get rid of hunger for a long time thanks to the fiber in its composition.

Stuffed cabbage rolls are a popular dish in Eastern European, Middle Eastern and Asian cuisines. In Germany they are called cabbage sausages, in Spain – stuffed cabbage, in France – cabbage cigars. Russian name“stuffed cabbage rolls” appeared in the mid-19th century. At that time, French fried pigeons were in vogue, which were transformed into “false pigeons,” that is, simple minced meat in a cabbage leaf. Another version says that the name came from Serbia, where the word “golubets” means “dumpling.” It turns out that cabbage rolls are not only meat in cabbage. Stuffed cabbage is a dish made from minced meat or vegetables wrapped in cabbage, grape or horseradish leaves, and rice, buckwheat or barley is used as an additive. But that's not all. Stuffed cabbage rolls can be lazy (yes, this is for those who like to eat delicious food, but are lazy). This is a way to simply and quickly prepare cabbage rolls: instead of wrapping the filling in a cabbage leaf, this same cabbage is simply added to the minced meat. And there is no need to separate the forks into leaves, process them and wrap them with filling - a complete time saver. The result is cabbage and meat cutlets that can be fried, boiled, baked, or even cooked in a slow cooker. The taste of lazy cabbage rolls is no worse than traditional ones. Fans of the “classics” can see the step-by-step recipe for regular cabbage rolls with photos at the link. Now let's move on to the step-by-step recipe for cabbage rolls with photos for lazy people!

Ingredients:

  • 500 g minced meat (pork + beef 1:1);
  • 400 g white cabbage;
  • 100 g round rice;
  • 150 g onion;
  • 250 g medium fat sour cream (10-20%);
  • 3 tbsp. thick tomato paste;
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic;
  • about a glass of flour;
  • 2 tbsp. boiled water;
  • salt, pepper to taste;
  • a little vegetable oil for frying.

Yield: 24 small cabbage rolls.

How to cook lazy cabbage rolls in the oven, recipe with photos step by step

1. Cut the onion, the smaller the better. You can even grind it using a grater. And in order not to cry when slicing, soak a knife or grater in cold water.

2. We also cut the cabbage finely. The smaller the better, because cabbage rolls formed from minced meat and cabbage should stick together easily and keep their shape.

3. Transfer the cabbage to a separate bowl.

4. Pour boiling water over the cabbage, cover with a plate and let it steam for 5-10 minutes. This will remove the bitterness from the cabbage and make it softer.

5. How to properly cook rice for lazy cabbage rolls? Rinse it until the water becomes clear. Typically, cereals are cleaned in 5 washes. Place the rice in a saucepan and add water in a ratio of 1:2. Let's add a little salt, but it's better to do this at the moment of boiling, since cold salty water heats up more slowly.

6. When the rice boils, immediately cover the pan with a lid, turn off the heat and leave the rice to steam for 15 minutes. Do not mix the cereal so that it does not turn out to be porridge. The rice should be half cooked. Why do we take semi-cooked rice? If you use raw cereal, then during the cooking process it will absorb all the meat juice, which will make the cabbage rolls a little dry. And vice versa, cooked rice will not absorb moisture, the meat balls will turn out loose and will fall apart.

7. Meanwhile, the cabbage has become soft. Drain the water through a colander. You can additionally squeeze the cabbage with your hands.

8. The rice is steamed. Remove the pan from the stove and cool the rice slightly.

9. Place onion, cabbage, minced meat and rice in a bowl. Onions will make the cabbage rolls juicier. It is better to take fattier meat, so the cabbage rolls will hold their shape more firmly. Who doesn't like beef and pork, try making cabbage rolls with minced chicken. By the way, the amount of rice can be increased to taste; the proportion of meat and rice is 1:3.

10. Salt and pepper.

11. Stir, you can try. If the minced meat is a bit dry, you can add one egg to it. This is the consistency that the minced meat for cabbage rolls should have (I used it without eggs).

12. We begin to form lazy cabbage rolls. Take a heaping tablespoon of minced meat with wet hands. We wet our hands each time to make it easier to roll the cutlets.

13. Roll up an oblong cabbage roll. You can postpone baking the cabbage rolls for a while by putting them in the freezer. Only after removing from the freezer, be sure to let them thaw until room temperature and then cook.

14. Dredge the lazy cabbage rolls well in flour, shaking off the excess.

15. Place in heated vegetable oil (3-5 tbsp) and begin to fry over medium-high heat until an appetizing golden crust forms.

16. Turn over and fry on the other side until golden brown. The inside of the cabbage rolls remains raw; they must be baked until fully cooked.

17. Place in a baking dish in one layer.

18. I have enough cabbage rolls to fill 2 molds.

19. Tomato sauce– a traditional addition to lazy cabbage rolls. A simple recipe for cabbage rolls sauce: mix sour cream, salt, pepper, tomato paste. If the paste is too sour, you can add a little sugar.

20. Pour in warm or hot boiled water so that the sour cream dissolves more easily. A little trick: the water in which the cabbage was steamed will do. We also add a little salt to the sauce.

21. Mix and taste. If it’s too bland, add more salt, or you can add your favorite spices. Coriander, paprika, rosemary, and basil work well. Spices can be mixed at home, or you can buy ready-made seasoning. That’s what it’s called – seasoning for cabbage rolls. Although, without unnecessary seasonings, with just black pepper and salt, lazy cabbage rolls taste amazing.

22. Pour most of it over the cabbage rolls, 5-6 tbsp. leave it. Cover the cutlets halfway with the sauce so the cabbage rolls remain whole. If you fill them to the top, they may lose their shape.

23. Place the lazy cabbage rolls in the oven and bake for 40 minutes at 180 degrees. It turns out a beautiful fried top.

24. Chop the greens and garlic.

25. Take out the almost finished cabbage rolls, sprinkle with herbs and garlic, pour over the remaining mixture, and return to the oven for 3-5 minutes. The aromas come out, remain bright, and are not overpowering.

26. Lazy pigeons are a high-calorie dish that is filling in itself. And since cabbage rolls are prepared with rice, cabbage and minced meat, then you can do without a side dish. But if you want a more satisfying lunch or dinner, you can serve lazy meat doves with a delicious gravy with buckwheat, rice or mashed potatoes. Fresh vegetables will also be indispensable. And as an additive we use sour cream, which can be seasoned with grated garlic.

Our step-by-step recipe with delicious photos has come to an end, lazy cabbage rolls are ready. Bon appetit!
