Preference is given to computer input, keyboards have replaced the ballpoint pens we are used to, and printing any text document is now much easier and faster than reproducing it by hand. But sometimes a situation arises when the need to write even a few sentences yourself cannot be avoided, and it is in this case that the problem of many people comes to light - insufficiently legible handwriting. Learn how to draw beautiful letters, while maintaining acquired skills, is very difficult, but quite possible. Therefore, in order to prevent periodic reproaches regarding the incomprehensible configuration of symbols on paper, you should learn to write them clearly and, as elegantly as possible.

How to draw beautiful letters: necessary materials

Not only training will help ensure unique writing of the elements of the alphabet, but also some additional details, all of which can be easily found in any store specializing in stationery supplies. These items include the following:

• a sheet of transparent rigid film;
• a set of felt-tip pens;
• awl;
• roller ruler (use it to draw parallel lines);
• paper;
• model knife.

Exercises used to improve handwriting

The idea that writing cannot be improved is a complete fallacy. It is quite possible to do this, but then it is recommended to use the following instructions.

The letter "C" gives you a lot of opportunities to show your imagination. Look what she looks like. A torn ring, a crescent moon, a curved snake, a lizard or a dragon, a rainbow turned on its side - many images arise. Think about which one best suits your task. A crescent moon is suitable for a New Year or Christmas card, a snake or a lizard is suitable for an environmental holiday. You can even write the most common letter “C” and place something like a star and a flower in it. Draw a ring with a pencil. Delete the part of the line on the right. To draw a crescent, just draw another line of lesser curvature between the ends. The horns should be thinner than the middle. The resulting crescent can be braided with an ornament of vines or flowers. You can make a crescent and voluminous. To do this, draw another arc in the middle. Color the halves of the letter in different shades of the same color - for example, light yellow and dark yellow.

What should I draw inside?

The letter “C” looks very good, with some kind of pattern in the center. Draw the "C" as a regular letter or as a crescent moon with long horns. Draw a star inside so that its center approximately coincides with the center of the ring. An asterisk can have any number of rays. What color to paint it depends on the style of work. It can be in tone with the letter, close in shade or contrasting. Its ends can diverge at any angle, because the snake has the ability to wriggle the way it wants. At the upper end of the arc, draw a head - it’s just a thickening. Continue the inner line so that near the lower end it approaches the outer line; a snake or lizard has a very thin tail tip. Color the snake with patterns.

The boom of modern graffiti arose in the 60s of the twentieth century in the USA with the advent of the youth movement “Hip-Hop”, which included both music, dancing, and graphic works on the walls. New culture was supposed to distract black youth from crime and hooliganism in the neighborhoods.

Thus, this culture served as a reason for popularizing the trend not only among blacks, but also among other segments of the country’s population.

The fonts used in graffiti are varied and numerous, so the main task is to come up with your own style based on the standard fonts available. Let's take, for example, standard printed Russian letters (Fig. 1).

They are simple, they have straight lines and sharp corners. To make the font more interesting, you can convert it to another one.

Let's start over with compositional construction so that the letters look correct and competent. To do this, we take sheet A 4, measure 4 cm from the top and bottom and draw straight lines. We will build a new font in this rectangle.

The next step is to make the letters wider and round off the sharp corners (Fig. 2).

Then, we take a bright blue felt-tip pen, cover the letters with color, and then outline them with contrasting blue so that our letters stand out (Fig. 3).

Using the same scheme, you can stylize the letters in the following way - make the lines wavy or “quivering”, and in some places create a “jagged effect”, as on the letter “A” (Fig. 4).

How to learn calligraphy?

Many people believe that in order for handwritten letters to look beautiful, it is necessary to complete special courses in the art of perfect writing. Unfortunately, not everyone will decide to spend a certain amount of money trying to master this skill. Preference is given to computer input, keyboards have replaced the ballpoint pens we are used to, and printing any text document is now much easier and faster than reproducing it by hand. But sometimes a situation arises when the need to write even a few sentences yourself cannot be avoided, and it is in this case that the problem of many people comes to light - insufficiently legible handwriting. Learning how to draw beautiful letters while maintaining acquired skills is not easy, but it is quite possible. Therefore, in order to prevent periodic reproaches regarding the incomprehensible configuration of symbols on paper, you should learn to write them clearly and, as elegantly as possible.

How to draw the necessary materials

Not only training will help ensure unique writing of the elements of the alphabet, but also some additional details, all of which can be easily found in any store specializing in these items. These items include the following:

In this tutorial I want to show you how to create your own font in Illustrator from scratch. The lesson is designed for those who do not have a graphics tablet. We will take simple figures: sticks, circles and squiggles. And we will collect letters from this.

You may already know that different fonts and lettering are now very popular on microstocks. I’ll tell you right away - I have never studied calligraphy and have not taken a single lesson on the Internet. I tried, but I wasn't quite enough. It all turned out so complicated that I’m sure many simply gave up. The lessons were based on the fact that you first had to write the text on paper, then either scan or take a photo, then transfer it to Illustrator, then do a trace, remove unnecessary points, align... And the question invariably arose: why is it so difficult? ?? Why not immediately start writing with the Brush tool in Illustrator? But of course, not everyone has a tablet, and writing letters with a mouse is inconvenient. After experimenting and sleeping a little at the monitor, I figured out how to make everything much simpler. And now you will find out how!

And one more small clarification if anyone is interested. What is a font? It's just all the letters of the same style. They are similar: they all have the same roundness, the same line length, or the same squiggles on the letters. What is lettering? These are simply drawn letters - by hand on paper, in Illustrator with the Pencil or Brush tool, drawn in watercolor, pencil, or even carved on a rock. "Inscriptions", in a word, which are created for a specific idea or situation. In lettering, the letters may not be very similar, but they are united by one idea.
