  • large egg - 2 pcs.;

How to cook pasta casserole in the oven with eggs and cheese

First, boil the pasta. If you have leftovers from dinner or lunch left ready - great! This step can be skipped. If there is no ready-made pasta, we put water on a boil. In order to save time, you can use an electric kettle, it will cope with the task in just 3-5 minutes. Drop pasta into boiling water. Only after that we add salt to the water and cook the pasta until half cooked. In terms of time, this can be calculated as follows: we take the cooking time indicated on the package and cut it in half. If the necessary information is not on the package, boil the pasta in boiling water for no more than 5 minutes, after which we discard them in a colander.

In parallel with cooking pasta, you can prepare the filling. For which, in a suitable bowl, mix milk and sour cream together. If desired, sour cream can be replaced with cream of a similar fat content and add 1 more egg to the list, because the cream is still more liquid and the casserole may not grab.

We add spices, seasonings and herbs to the filling (fresh or dried - according to the season). A little salt, literally a pinch, because the finished pasta will already be salty. As well as cheese, which we will add in the next step.

Now we pour the grated cheese into a bowl with the milk-egg mixture - and the filling for the casserole is ready.

There are three ways to bring the casserole to readiness: in a pan, in the microwave or in the oven. The first two methods are suitable if you are satisfied with a casserole without a delicious cheese crust. The third - if you simply need this crust. In this case, we take the option in the oven. We warm it up to 180-200 degrees (it is advisable to even turn it on as soon as we set the pasta to cook). Grease a baking dish liberally with butter.

Distribute the boiled pasta evenly in shape.

Then fill them with filling, trying to do it so that the cheese is also distributed between the pasta. But most of it will still remain on the surface - it is during baking that it will give an amazing crust.

We load the filled form into a preheated oven and let the casserole brown. Typically 15 min. this is more than enough for cooking pasta casserole with eggs and cheese in the oven.

It is better to cut the macaroni and cheese casserole into portions when it cools down a bit and seizes - then the pieces turn out evener.

  • 2 tbsp. tablespoons of butter;
  • 2 tbsp. spoons of flour;
  • 1 egg;
  • 1 teaspoon of salt (you can add salt to taste after cooking);
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black ground pepper;
  • 2 cups skimmed milk;
  • 150 g grated spicy cheese Cheddar;
  • 3/4 cup low fat yogurt (or low fat)
  • 2 tbsp. spoons of breadcrumbs;
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground smoked paprika.

  • large saucepan;
  • colander;
  • baking dish with a volume of about 2 liters.

Cooking

Preheat the oven to 230 gr.S.
Take a large pot of salted water and bring it to a boil. Add the horns to the water and boil them until al dente (do not overcook them). Drain everything in a colander and rinse cold water so that the horns do not stick together.

Take another saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in it over medium heat. Add flour, salt and ground black pepper. Mix everything until a thick paste forms.
Slowly add milk, a quarter cup at a time. Heat the mixture over medium heat for a few minutes, stirring constantly, until it thickens and starts bubbling around the edges. But don't let the sauce simmer.

Add shredded cheddar cheese to the pot. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce thickens. Add the beaten egg with yogurt, stir the sauce until smooth.

Add the cooked horns to the sauce, toss to make sure they are all evenly coated in the sauce.

Place pasta with sauce in a greased baking dish. Mix the breadcrumbs with the smoked paprika and sprinkle evenly over the entire dish.

Place the mold in the oven and bake at 230°C for 15 minutes until the top of the casserole is golden brown.
Serve hot baked pasta with cheese. If desired, sprinkle each serving with a pinch of cayenne pepper.
