Where to find copper in fallout 4

Players Fallout 4 often complains that they quickly run out of ammo and they are right, because at high difficulty levels weapons consume a lot of ammo. It's expensive to buy them every time, so in this guide we'll explain how to craft your own bullets and other ammo for all Fallout 4 weapons.

Crafting Items in Fallout 4

The crafting system appeared with the addition Contraptions Workshop for workshop mode, it offers conveyor lines and a dozen machines with which you can create a variety of items.

All functionality is designed primarily for players up to level 15; in the future, all things that can be produced using machines will begin to drop from enemies.

Most machines do not require additional perks from the character, consume from 8 to 15 points of energy and are created with a small consumption of basic resources (steel, rubber, gears, copper, etc.). To build a crafting line, open the workshop menu, the “Food” section, then “Production” and you will see three groups:

  • “Machines” - this submenu hides all the machines that produce something in Fallout 4
  • “Miscellaneous” - here are sorters, a feeder for collecting things and a container for storing finished products
  • Conveyor” - elements of the “Machine” and “Miscellaneous” groups are connected using a conveyor belt; in this submenu there are such details as a straight line, a turn, a divider, a lift and more.

At first glance, Contraptions Workshop offers a lot of possibilities, but this is not the case. Only with the Manufacturing Extended mod does it make sense to build factories, and the benefits of using them appear.

If you play without mods, then let's immediately sort the machines in descending order of their importance for gameplay:

  • Ammunition production machine– produces ammunition of all types from basic resources, but only for firearms. With the mod - for energy weapons too. Construction requires the perks “Weapon Fanatic” and “Science!” first level.

  • Explosive machine- produces only the main types of grenades (fragmentation, cryogenic, Molotov cocktail) and mines (fragmentation, cryo and cap). With mods - most types of grenades and mines. Requires the Demoman perk level 2.

  • Food Processor- produces 21st century food that cannot be cooked using the conventional method through a food preparation station. The peculiarity of this food is that it is completely safe and restores more action points or health than regular food.

  • Forge of normal, energy or heavy weapons- produce weapons according to their name, consume the most energy; creation requires the “Weapon Fanatic” perk of the third level or “Science” of the second level. Starting from character level 15, all weapons from the forge will begin to drop from enemies.

  • Machine- creates toys, bowling balls and pins, balls, a Vault-Tec lunchbox and other simple items from the list, as can be seen in the photo below. With mods it produces significantly more items, but they are all decorative.

  • Fireworks machine- creates fireworks according to the list; to launch fireworks, a corresponding mortar is required.
  • Armor Forge- produces regular, medium and heavy elemental armor, but requires the level 1 Gunsmith perk. Allows you to dress well at the beginning, but does not offer anything unusual or exclusive; from level 15, items will become useless. Looking for the best armor? Read our guide "" and find it in the world of Fallout 4!

  • Sewing machine- produces fashionable clothes that can be topped with armor elements. The machine is for aesthetes, as it is useful only if you want to dress the settlers in good things, removing their tattered rags. The clothes themselves cannot be upgraded.

In our opinion, only the first three are useful.

Ammo production in Fallout 4

In the minimum configuration, for the production of cartridges you need only two elements - an ammunition production machine and a Conveyor - Storage block (does not consume energy!). Connect them together.

The type of cartridges is selected through the Terminal, which is located in the “Power” - “Miscellaneous” menu; you will also need a Switch or a power line with a Switch to turn the conveyor on and off when necessary. The complete system consumes 9 points of energy, so build a Large Generator and connect everything in series with wires.

Go to the terminal and select the required cartridges in the machine menu, the system will inform you about what needs to be put into the machine for production:

Production starts immediately, as soon as everything necessary for the current task is available. The machine produces packs of 10 rounds in about 10 seconds, so it's worth loading up more and heading off to do other things. Products can be picked up at the Warehouse.

If you want to produce different types of ammunition at the same time, for example, 5.56mm, shotgun, 10mm and .308, you will have to build four separate lines, each with its own generators, terminals and machines.

Instead, we suggest focusing on production speed, which is worth building a line of three machines working simultaneously on one task. To do this, you will need a large empty area with a flat floor.

Construction begins with the installation of the Hoisting Conveyor element in the middle of any edge of the site:

Now you need to place two feeders to the left and right of the box, so that they stand on the same line and as close as possible to the first feeder, centrally relative to it. This pair also needs a straight belt and a lift.

On the top floor, attach 3 ammo production machines (they won't fall) and add a right turn, a left turn, and a straight line so that they are all roughly on the same line:

Now all that remains is to assemble the finished product using the receiving tape. To do this, place the Conveyor - Storage perpendicular to the factory and a little away from it, and connect the Conveyor - Descent element to it:

Typically, 3 descents are required, which at the top go to the Conveyor - Straight element, and the Conveyor - Power Supply unit closes the structure, since no one in the receiver part is connected to power:

It is very important to choose the correct position of the feeders; the final top three of conveyors depends on their position. A small spread - and the products will no longer fall onto the receiving conveyor belt, but will fall to the ground. Fitting usually takes a few minutes.

This factory consumes 48 units of energy, so take care of a suitable generator, do not forget to install a terminal and connect everything with wires (3 machines, storage and terminal). To use, place the necessary resources in the box.

This factory produces 30 rounds of any type in 10 seconds, you can build factories in a different pattern, with 2 large boxes feeding 4 lines, each with a feeder, a return lift and a machine, like this:

If this is not enough, you can easily expand it by adding 4 more lines, placing them in front of the boxes, and the products should be collected by a receiving belt placed between the machines:

Such a line consumes 130 units of energy and will require a powerful power source, but it produces 80 rounds of any type in 10 seconds. Please note that on weak computers the game will begin to slow down noticeably if you use more than 4 lines at the same time. Also, it is difficult to place 8 elements exactly between each other and in one line.

Remember that the machine works until the internal reserves are exhausted; switch the type of cartridges produced in the terminal in time before the reserves run out. Or turn off the production line - don't ignore the breakers. Production continues while you play or wait, but don't sleep, so feel free to do other things.

You should not fill boxes with more than 1,000 units of a particular resource - they are collected by feeders sequentially and in alphabetical order, until exhaustion. If you need 2 copper, 2 steel and 2 plastic, and you loaded 1,000 in total, then copper will come out first, then plastic, then steel, and then the machine will start on it.

Feeder settings can be adjusted on the terminal. It can load 1-30 units of resource at a time and at different speeds, from 1 to 30 seconds, which will not be visible, but other elements of the conveyor can become a brake, balancing is needed here. Or just don't touch its settings.

Another important nuance is the resources and their ratio for the production of cartridges. In the original version of the game, 5 resources are required in the following ratio:

  • Fertilizer (translation error, this is an explosive id 001bf730) - 11 parts;
  • Lead (id 000AEC63) - 11 parts;
  • Copper (id 0006907c) - 7 parts;
  • Steel (id 000731a4) - 6 parts;
  • Plastic (id 0006907f) - 2 parts;
  • Oil (id 001BF732) - 1 part.
In other words, more and more often you need to load fertilizer and lead into the box, half as much copper and steel are needed, plastic is needed only for the production of shotgun cartridges, and oil is only needed for 2 mm. electronic cartridge. A small nuance - it is not the packaging (packs) that should be placed in the boxes, but the resources themselves.

You can find out where they are sold from, but if you are too lazy to search, you can add resources through the console command (opens when you click on ~): player.additem ID quantity, for example, player.additem 000AEC63 1000.

How profitable is crafting ammo? Having loaded each of two boxes with 1000 fertilizers and lead, 600 copper and 700 steel, and 200 plastic, in an hour of real time in a factory of 8 lines I received about 3000 rounds of four common types - 5.56 mm, .38, .45, shotgun. Buying them would cost several times more, not to mention the fact that no seller has such a quantity. But you can buy composite resources in the required quantities.

Pomegranates and food should be produced similarly, and it is not necessary to build several similar factories; one will be enough, especially since this is a very compact scheme. Just change machines, keeping unnecessary ones in the workshop.

Fallout 4 mods for production and conveyors

The last topic for today is mods, or rather, a mod that improves the game mechanics and makes them not so useless. We are talking about Manufacturing Extended, you can find it in the “Modifications” menu of the game.

It rebalances existing machines and adds many new ones, here are the five most important ones.

As you know in Fallout 4, you can build and improve your own settlements, and this is significant progress after home improvement and Skyrim. However, to build the ideal settlement in your opinion, various materials are needed. Many of them are quite difficult to obtain and this causes some problems. One such rare item is copper.

Copper is widely used for settlement construction, particularly for items that cannot function without electricity.

Advice: Before starting construction, disassemble all items and objects located in the area. This way you can get a sufficient amount of basic materials.

Copper may become a more problematic resource for you. First of all, pay attention to items that include Copper in their name.

You can also find many items in stores. Once purchased, they can be dismantled for copper. To make your search easier, check this resource and all things that include copper will be marked with a magnifying glass.

What items can be disassembled for copper?

When you find an item that includes copper, you can store it on the workbench. There they will be automatically used during crafting, and there is no need to take them apart one by one.

List of things that include copper:

  • Broken light bulb;
  • Bulb;
  • Broken lamp;
  • Pan and other kitchen items;
  • Powerful magnet;
  • Fuse;
  • Desk lamp;
  • Cutter;
  • Vacuum tube;
  • Telephone.

You can also get copper when dismantling armor and weapons if you use the “Scrapper” perk - Collector. This requires 5 Intelligence.

You can also buy copper. To do this, go to Drumlin Diner, talk to the merchant and buy all the trash that contains copper. In 48 hours, its reserves will be replenished.

Of course, you can’t build settlements in Fallout 4 on sheer enthusiasm. We need a variety of building materials, some of which are rare: for example, copper. It immediately comes into use when you need to conduct electricity.
So, you can get a large supply of base materials by dismantling objects and objects located in the area. However, copper will still be difficult: you will have to search hard for it.

The main source of this metal- items whose name contains the word “copper”. You can also disassemble objects that contain it. These items can be found in the store. And to make the search easier, mark copper for search, and then all items that contain it will be marked with a magnifying glass.

In addition, having collected yourself items with copper, you can store them on the workbench. In this case, these items will be automatically included in crafting, and you will not have to take them apart one by one.

Here is a list of things that contains copper:

  • telephone;
  • fuse;
  • powerful magnet;
  • saucepan and other kitchen utensils;
  • cutter;
  • light bulbs of all types and varieties, including table and broken ones.

You can get copper by dismantling weapons and armor if you get the Scrapper perk. It requires 5 intelligence points.
Copper can also be purchased from Drumlin Diner. Talk to the merchant and buy back all the trash that contains copper. The supply of this junk is replenished every 48 hours.

In the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout 4, a survivor must solve many different problems. Very often you have to deal not only with your own problems, but also solve the problems of the Minutemen, settlers, farmers and other helpless ones. In addition, you receive new territories that come under your responsibility, and therefore new problems. These territories need to be provided with an influx of new people; for this, a recruiting beacon must be built, and for the beacon to operate, power supply is required. To get electricity, you need to build an electric generator and connect it with wiring to a recruiting beacon, and for all this you need copper.

If a settlement has access to water, then the best source of water will be a pumping station - and this again costs copper. It would be nice to provide protection to the population by installing several turrets, wouldn't it? - and again copper. Want to modify your weapon? Yes, copper again! Everywhere you look, there is a need for copper. Therefore, as a rule, it is very lacking, or it ends at the most inopportune moment.

Of course, you can say that the easiest way is to buy a whole lot (25 pieces) from the charismatic Cleo (KL-E-0) from Goodneighbor or from Arturo from Diamond City, but this requires and in general, is not as interesting as scouring through the ruins of Boston in search of various objects, because we are not looking for easy ways!

Despite the apparent shortage, there is actually quite a lot of copper around if you know where to look. And we’ll tell you where to look:

  • In any outdoor cafeterias, canteens, buffets and other dining premises (factory, office, and residential buildings). In other words, wherever people cooked and ate food before the war, you will find it. Because every kitchen has tiles, pots and other utensils, which means copper. It is worth noting that if the tile is a win-win “copper” option, then you may have to run around looking for a copper pan.

Tile

  • Various non-residential premises, such as factories, police stations, hospitals and various enterprises, have one thing in common - you can find telephones there! You won't be able to make a call, but you can get hold of copper.

  • In industrial premises, basements with electric generators, utility rooms, or rooms with tools, you are highly likely to find a number of useful items at once: fuses, whole and broken light bulbs, power relay coils, vacuum tubes. These little things are easy to miss, because they can just sit on a table or any other surface, outside the container. They are small in size, and without knowing what they look like, they are difficult to notice.
  • Survival in a community is not an easy task, because very often you have to deal with raiders or mercenaries who call themselves “shooters”. Raiders and shooters are somewhat similar, they use all their strength to preserve their territory: mines, traps, machine gun turrets... Do you feel what it smells like? Smells like copper! After all, by destroying the turrets, you can find the same fuses, power relay coils and vacuum tubes. Do you want your own turret? Break someone else's!

Fuse
Vacuum lamp

  • You will almost certainly find pre-war table lamps in living spaces and ruined country houses. Broken or whole, it doesn't matter, they have copper in them.
  • In chem. laboratories, medical and research centers, in general, anywhere full of mysterious test tubes, jars and other things related to chemistry, you can find a copper-containing beaker rack or a Bunsen burner. You may also encounter a Bunsen burner in other places (for example, in rooms with tools). In medical centers, as a bonus, you can find a Bone Cutter, yes, and it also contains copper.

Broken lamp
Gilded grasshopper

New cables
Powerful magnet

The world of Fallout 4 is unique in that in its vastness it is necessary to collect materials for further use in construction or crafting. There are a lot of materials, so it would be nice to know about their composition in things.

How to mine copper in Fallout 4

While traveling around the world of the Commonwealth, do not forget to collect all kinds of trash and disassemble it for materials. And one of the valuable and useful materials is copper, which must be collected and accumulated in order to be able to create a lot of useful things. Copper is a constituent element that allows you to create things and materials that use electricity. And given that there are many such things, a lot of copper is needed. Where to find copper in Fallout 4? This question is easy to answer, but it is quite vague. The fact is that you can find it almost throughout the entire community, the main thing is to pay attention to your surroundings and do not forget to disassemble the various materials of the settlements. This way you can accumulate this material and not need it for a long time. Therefore, you shouldn’t think too much about where to get copper in Fallout 4, since the answer is quite simple, and being a curious player, you will definitely be able to find this material.

Items containing copper

What is copper mined from in Fallout 4? As you might guess, it is found in items that use electricity:
 vacuum lamp;
 fuse;
 telephone;
 tiles;
 light bulb;
 broken light bulb;
 power relay coil.

Look for these items, and you will definitely be able to get yourself the necessary material. You need to look for such things in buildings, houses and dungeons, which are usually used as shelters.

How to quickly mine copper?

You won’t be able to immediately accumulate a huge amount of this material, but this situation is only possible if you are considering the legal way of playing. If you want to cheat to get ID copper in Fallout 4, then this is quite possible, since the game has various codes that must be entered into the console. The code for copper in Fallout 4 is as follows: 0006907C. You must enter this set of characters and indicate the desired amount to receive the material. Then, after a few minutes, you will find that you have a virtually endless supply of copper.

Now you know how and where to get this resource. You just need to be careful and not be lazy to get into even the most inaccessible places. In addition, you can clear out city streets if you have special privileges. Now all you have to do is do all this, and you can get the necessary resource. We wish you good luck and speedy accumulation of this resource.
