How to draw a dinosaur in stages with gouache (Master class for children). How to draw a dinosaur with a pencil with children How to draw a dinosaur to a child in stages with a pencil

It is always interesting to look into the past and see what our planet looked like millions of years ago, when huge dinosaurs lived, brontosaurs pterodactyls flew in the sky and plants were taller than a multi-storey building. But you can see dinosaurs only in a movie or in a museum, and then only the skeleton of a dinosaur. But you can always draw a dinosaur in your imagination, creating drawings of dinosaurs and landscapes of the Jurassic period and as if to plunge into the world of giant reptiles.
How to draw a dinosaur if no one has ever seen it? Of course, only focusing on your imagination and drawings of scientists recreating different types of dinosaurs that lived on our planet. To make it easier to draw a dinosaur, it is best to do the drawing in stages, first with a simple pencil, and then paint the picture with the dinosaur with colored pencils or paints.
Draw a landscape and other animals next to the dinosaur. Then your drawing of a dinosaur will be like a frozen frame from the past and will attract the viewer's attention. Let's try together draw dinosaur.

1. First steps of drawing

Start drawing the dinosaur with an oval outline for the torso and two small circles for the head and ear. To make these initial contours somehow resemble a dinosaur, draw a small tail at the back for now.

2. Draw the legs of a dinosaur

At the bottom of the oval (torso), first draw three circles. The distance between them is approximately the same. They will serve as a guide for you to create the initial contours of the dinosaur's legs. Now you can draw the legs and focus on my drawing.

3. Draw the outlines of the head and tail

It is not difficult to draw a dinosaur tail by looking at my drawing. It will be a little more difficult to figure out how to draw the outline of the head, but this is only at first glance. Look closely, you only need to add four lines. And after you delete the now unnecessary contours, the dinosaur will "get" the head instead of the circles.

4. Detailing the drawing

Starting from this stage, drawing a dinosaur will be quite simple. First, remove all unnecessary contour lines. Remove carefully so as not to touch the "working" lines of the dinosaur drawing. Not all dinosaurs were horned, but my picture shows a dinosaur with horns. I think it's not a problem to draw the horns, and also add a few more details on the dinosaur's head.

5. Draw a dinosaur skin in detail

At this stage, you need to draw in detail the skin of a dinosaur, add claws on the legs, draw the pupil of the eye. On the back, along the ridge of this dinosaur, there is a horny growth, draw a parallel line along the back and break it with strokes. There are many folds on the hide, especially at the base of the legs. You don't have to draw them, but for a more realistic drawing of a dinosaur, it is advisable to make them.

6. How to draw a dinosaur. The final stage

At this stage, you should add shadows in the dinosaur drawing to make it more voluminous. Dinosaur drawing can be colored with crayons. But no one knows what color of his coat and skin was, decide for yourself. Be sure to draw a dinosaur against the backdrop of a Jurassic landscape. In perspective, draw several figures of other animals, flying pterodactyls in the sky and of course the lush vegetation of that era. Just do not make the background too bright and catchy, so as not to distract the viewer's attention from the main character of your picture - the dinosaur.

The drawing of the hippopotamus is made on the tablet in stages. but nevertheless, this lesson can be used for drawing with a simple pencil.

A drawing of a king cobra made on a graphics tablet can be a good picture for decorating your computer desktop.

The crocodile is one of the few animals whose ancestors lived in the era of the dinosaurs. In this picture, the crocodile seems to be preparing to jump off the picture and grab the prey.

Drawing a dragon is certainly difficult as well as draw dinosaur... Indeed, in fact, a dragon is a symbiosis of a lizard and a bird, and in the drawing of a dragon it is imperative to reflect the plasticity of these two creatures.

The turtle, like the dinosaur, is a very ancient animal that has retained almost the same appearance as it had millions of years ago. Only the dinosaurs disappeared, and she still lives. In this lesson we will try to draw a turtle ourselves in stages.

Few people like an insect as dangerous for humans as a scorpion, but many like to draw predatory and dangerous animals. I suggest you draw them in stages.

We draw dinosaurs with a pencil: a step-by-step description and a photo selection.

Children motivate us to master new activities that we do not use often in everyday life. For example, drawing cartoon characters, vehicles and animals.

The times of the domination of huge lizards attract children with their uniqueness and diversity of flora and fauna. And you will have to master the technique of drawing dinosaurs with a pencil in order to show it to your child and spend time with him for pleasure.

How to draw a dinosaur step by step with a pencil for beginners?

step by step drawing of herbivorous dinosaur for beginners

The first step is to decide which dinosaur you will draw with a pencil. This is either:

  • herbivorous
  • predator
  • bird

The second point - watch cartoons or a feature film where there is this ancient inhabitant of the planet. Pay attention to the structural features of his body. Get inspired by drawing it on paper.

We propose to disassemble the sequence of the drawing of a herbivorous dinosaur and a large predator.

Prepare:

  • paper
  • pencil
  • eraser

We draw the first one, which is located sideways to us:

  • depict a large oval for the body and a pair of small ones for the head and ear,
  • from the large oval, lower the smooth line of the future tail with a slight curl upward,
  • under the oval body, place 3 small circles at an equal distance from each other. These are the knee bends of the dinosaur legs,
  • smoothly connect the lines of the head and ear, add tiny eyes and nostrils, a line between the jaws of the closed mouth,
  • from the head draw two lines of the neck to the body. She is quite fat in a herbivorous lizard,
  • add another line for the tail and thick legs, show the curves in the places of the circles,
  • add sharp horns, claws and folds at the base of the limbs,
  • erase all extra lines,
  • add strokes for the shadow or color the drawing with paints / crayons.

The drawing steps in the photo below.

We draw a predator:

  • mark out the details of the animal's body using the two ovals of the torso and head, the lines of the neck, tail and two hind legs. The head is located above the body,
  • connect the oval of the head with two lines with the torso. It's a thick dinosaur neck
  • add two lines for the tail, which is a continuation of the torso,
  • indicate strong hind legs with a slight bend,
  • on the head of the predator, insert lines in the form of a sign more. They are needed to draw an open huge mouth,
  • add lines on the head to make it look like a crocodile with an open mouth,
  • detail the eyes, nostrils,
  • add short forelimbs with 2 toes,
  • wipe the auxiliary lines,
  • depict sharp teeth on open jaws, claws on all limbs and lines on the body of a dinosaur,
  • color the drawing as desired.

How to draw a dinosaur?

Dinosaurs are a mesmerizing theme for both adults and children. Everything is here, mystery, fear, uncertainty, and exoticism. What is one colossal period of time that separates our human time from the era when the earth carried these giants (and dwarfs too, not all of them were so huge). Moreover, they were not "animals" in our usual sense, but "lizards", reptiles - relatives of lizards and crocodiles rather than elephants and whales. Yes, all this is very difficult. And today we are drawing a dinosaur. Which one exactly? - there are so many of them in the encyclopedia ... Eyes run up from these innumerable names, let us tell you. Allosaurus, Apatosaurus, Oviraptor ... Yes, of course, each individual species in the picture has its own individual features - one has an outgrowth on the forehead, the other has shorter front legs than the hind legs. But in general, there are only a few dominant forms, no more than seven.

Here we have a diplodocus - a seductive subject for a picture. Who without an encyclopedia will remember what a diplodocus looked like? A barrel-shaped body, legs-columns, about the same length, a long tail, the same long neck, a tiny head with a silly grin and small eyes. By the way, why does he need such a tail and a neck? Neck like a giraffe: to get leaves from the treetops. A tail for balance and balance. By the way, the diplodocus did not shine with intelligence, and I must say thanks to nature if its brain, which was located in the skull a little larger than that of a horse, exceeded the size of a cat's! No wonder these legged barrels were swept off the face of the Earth as inexpedient! Ok, let's try to draw Diplodocus on A4 sheet.

draw a dinosaur

The neck had to be wrapped back, the pretzel tail - forward. It's hard to believe that the lizard had no other occupation but to look at its back. No, this is not realistic, and the dinosaur is not painfully interesting, just large and massive, and there is not much charm. Looking at the encyclopedia, we will find several more similar mountain-like dinosaurs - apatosaurus, brachiosaurus, in general, sauropods, you know.

To be honest, these giants should be drawn in full length, for example, with chalk on the asphalt somewhere in the city square. Let's look for someone more interesting ..

Well, in the encyclopedia we found a wonderful specimen with the pretentious name "Parasaurolophus". Its appearance matches the name: hooves on the hind legs, while on the front membranes between the toes, there is a huge protrusion on the head that sticks out back. Most likely, he served as a loudspeaker loudspeaker. Representatives of this species reached 12 meters in length, they ate, as it is written in the book, coniferous needles. How to draw such an exotic dinosaur? Of course, since he is erect, we place the sheet vertically. Further, what is its main feature? Please note that the lizard's pelvis is many times more powerful and wider than the shoulders.

From the pelvis, the body tapers upwards conically towards the shoulders with relatively small forepaws, somewhat resembling human hands, the neck is long and characteristically bent, a large head with a huge horn-like outgrowth.

Option 1

Option 1 - How to draw a dinosaur in stages

Source

STEP 1

We only need a pencil and a blank sheet of paper. We start our future dinosaur by drawing the base for the head, torso and legs, we do it as shown below.

STEP 2

Then we start drawing the head. Create the outlines of the face, nose and mouth based on the base of the head, as in the picture below.

STEP 3

We draw the teeth, nostrils and eyes of our dinosaur, probably this is one of the easiest stages.

STEP 4

Then you can move on to drawing the torso. We begin to draw the shoulders, arms and chest of the dinosaur, paying attention to how it is done in the picture below.

STEP 5

Now we need to draw the legs. Having studied how the toes and knees are detailed in our picture, repeat this in your drawing.

STEP 6

The final step is to draw the back and long tail of our dinosaur. Now you can erase all the baselines and unnecessary details made in the first steps.

RESULT

Congratulations! Now you have acquired the skill of drawing a dinosaur and can repeat all the steps yourself.

Drawing dinosaurs is very easy if you know where to start. First, draw with a pencil some circles or ovals for each part of the dinosaur's body. Then connect them with an outer loop. Erase the circles and ovals to leave a drawing of the dinosaur, which you can then color in. Once you've learned how to draw the following four dinosaurs, try reshaping them to give them different poses. Finally, try drawing other dinosaurs with circles and ovals!

Steps

Stegosaurus

First, sketch out horizontal ovals for the head and body. Draw a small oval or circle for the head of a stegosaurus. Move a little to the right and draw a much larger oval for the torso. While doing this, leave enough room for the neck: the distance between the head and the body should correspond to the size of the first circle.

Add one slanted oval inside the torso for the hind leg. Draw an oblique oval inside the large oval before adding legs. Place it so that the top end is on the right and the bottom end is on the left. In the future, this oval will turn into the hind limb of a stegosaurus, so place it near the right edge of the body.

Draw 4 small ovals under the torso for the front and hind legs. Draw 2 ovals near the left (front) and 2 ovals near the right (back) edge of the torso. Draw these ovals so that their long axis is vertical. To make it appear that the stegosaurus is walking, tilt the two middle ovals (these will be the left legs) towards each other. Tilt the leftmost and rightmost oval to the side from each other - these will be the right paws.

To represent the feet, draw 4 small ovals under the feet. Draw one vertical oval under the front paw. It should intersect slightly with the paw - there will be a "knee" at the intersection. Then draw 2 horizontal ovals under the two middle legs to make them look like the feet that are on the ground. Finally, add another tilted oval - this will be the hind foot.

    • You may need to add a small oval or rectangle to connect the top of the second leg to the foot. Tilt it forward slightly to resemble a joint.
    • Tilt the back oval so it looks like the front edge of your foot is touching the ground.
    • These 4 ovals may be smaller than the paws.
  1. Draw lines from the torso to indicate the neck and tail. Connect the head to the body with two curved lines. For the top of the neck, draw a curved line with raised edges and a drooping middle. Mark the lower edge of the neck with a slightly curved line that connects the middle of the head to the base of the torso. Then, draw a long, thin triangle extending from the back of the body. This will be the tail.

Draw a row of plates along the back of the stegosaurus. First, draw a few straight lines that go up from the back. Make the lines on the neck and tail slightly shorter and denser than those in the middle of the back. Then draw a plate around each line. The plates should be pentagonal with a triangle at the top and two converging lines that connect the triangle to the body.

    • Tilt the lines so that the plates move slightly to the sides.
    • Optionally, you can add a second row of plates behind the first. Draw them in smaller triangles that protrude from the top edges of the front row of plates.
    • If you are doing digital art, create a separate layer for the plates.
  2. Connect the ovals to complete the outline of the stegosaurus. After you have drawn all the ovals and plates, you can finally draw out the outlines of the dinosaur's body and legs. Draw a solid line around the head, neck, torso and tail. Draw this line above the back of the stegosaurus, around its tail, under its belly, around its head and neck. Then draw another line around the left and right sides of each foot, and outline the toes on each foot with small, curved lines.

    • If you are working with digital art, draw this line on the same layer in which you made the plates on the back.
  3. Erase all the ovals to leave the outer outline. Gently erase the original ovals. At the same time, leave the outlines of the torso, legs and dorsal plates.

  4. Color in the stegosaurus. Use colored pencils, felt-tip pens, or crayons for this. Color the dinosaur the way you like. For contrast, different colors can be used for the lower abdomen and dorsal plates.

    • Check out the dinosaur books to see how best to color the stegosaurus.
  5. Draw 3 triangles for the lower legs and tail. At the bottom of the body oval, draw a thin triangle for the tail. It should reach the very end of the back line. On either side of the tail, add a slightly wider triangle, one at a time. Draw the feet: add 4 straight lines to the end of each paw, and then connect them with curved lines to indicate the webbing.

    • Tilt the paws slightly outward to make the pterodactyl appear to be flying.
  6. Draw on the sides of the figure in the form of the Latin letter "V" - these will be the wings. Draw a line to the side and slightly downward from the end of the line you marked the front legs. Its length should be about the same as the line of the paws. After that, connect the second line from the end of the wing to the ankles. Bend these lines slightly to give the wing a more natural shape.

    • Draw the lower portion of the wings - draw a curved line between each ankle and tail.
    • To define the front legs more clearly, draw another line below the one you have already drawn. This will give the paws thickness. After that, draw some small ovals to indicate the ends of the feet and toes.
    • To get the correct proportions, make each wing about the same width as the total length of the body and beak.
  7. Complete the sketch. Trace the wings, body, legs, and head to form the outline of the pterodactyl. Draw a single line around the head, comb and beak to connect them. Similarly, use one line for both sides of the body and legs.

    • Place some dots on the face and beak - these will be the eyes and nostrils of the pterodactyl.
  8. Erase the guide lines and color in the pterodactyl. Finally, delete the original ovals and cruciform lines that you used for the back and wings, and leave only the outer outline. Color in the drawing and add texture using crayons, felt-tip pens and crayons.

    • If you wish, you can paint the body and wings in different colors.
