Padmé Naberri was only 14 years old when she was elected queen of the planet Naboo (the tradition of choosing such young queens was characteristic of Naboo: Padmé herself says that she was not the youngest queen). However, at the time of her election as queen, she had already been the ruler of the capital city of Theed for 2 years. Padme was born in a distant mountain village into a poor family (in the scenes cut from episode II, her family is depicted as quite wealthy, which suggests that the material condition of Padme's parents improved due to the high position of her daughter) and had an older sister, Sol.
However, when she went to visit her grandmother Vinama, Padmé fell in love with the life of the capital city forever. Amidala's parents were very worried about their daughter's move, but still allowed the girl to continue her studies in political sciences. Upon becoming queen, Padme assumed the throne name Amidala, which, like the name Padme itself, comes from Sanskrit, where it is associated with the lotus. As queen, she was trained in martial arts by Captain Panaki. According to palace rules, she is required to wear incredibly elaborate outfits, hairstyles and ritual make-up. Clothes and makeup allow you to hide the true face of the queen, so during dangerous events or trips, one of the maids, most often Sabe, takes the place of the queen (as a senator, Corday is Padme's double).

Shortly after her election, Padmé became embroiled in conflict with the Trade Federation and Palpatine's intrigues against Chancellor Fenis Velorum. In the first part of the film epic "Star Wars. Episode I: "The Phantom Menace" she attempts to lift the blockade of her planet by seeking the help of Palpatine, Senator of the Galactic Senate from Naboo. She does not dare to declare war on the Federation, as she rightly fears the possibility of violence against her subjects. However, soon the Trade Federation droids begin an invasion of Naboo, and Amidala, unable to defend her home planet on her own, flees with the help of two Jedi - Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his student Obi-Wan Kenobi, who arrived in the Naboo system to negotiate with the Trade Federation about lifting the blockade.
While fleeing Naboo, Padme's ship is attacked by the Trade Federation and severely damaged, causing it to make an emergency landing on Tatooine, the nearest planet to Naboo that is not controlled by the Neimoidians of the Trade Federation. Here they meet Shmi's 9-year-old son Anakin Skywalker, who Qui-Gon believes is the Chosen One, called to restore the balance of the Force and destroy the Sith. Therefore, the Jedi teacher seeks Anakin's release from slavery and intends to train him in the use of the Force. Padmé makes a strong impression on the boy, who mistakes her for an angel. Later, these feelings will grow into love.
Speaking in the Senate, Padme demands that the delegates recognize the aggression against her homeland and help Naboo. In her speech, she sharply criticizes the indecisiveness of Chancellor Velorum (who succumbed to the proposal to create and send a special commission to Naboo, which could cost the planet time and, ultimately, independence), which leads to his resignation and the election of a delegate from Naboo - Palpatine. Despite this event, Padmé is left without any major assistance from the Republic and secretly returns to Naboo.
The Battle of Geonosis, launched to save a Senator, a Jedi, and a Padawan, will turn into the first battle of the Clone Wars, and the Republic will plunge into the abyss of a civil war that has turned Padmé, backed by Senators Bail Organa and Jar Jar Binks, into the leader of the opposition to Chancellor Palpatine in the Senate .
The cut scenes of the film give an idea of Amidala's family: Padme's parents, Jobal and Ruvi Naberri appear in the frame, as well as her sister Sola with two daughters - Ruu and Pooja (later Pooja Naberri will follow in the footsteps of Amidala, becoming two years old during the Galactic Civil War Naboo's representative in the Senate).

At the beginning of the third episode, Padme and Anakin have not seen each other for many months. The siege of Coruscant leads Togo from the Far Front to the capital. At the first meeting, Padmé tells Anakin that she is pregnant. She is worried about the consequences of this: she will surely lose her place in the Senate, Anakin may be expelled from the Order. But Skywalker takes the news as a huge boon.
His joy is very soon overshadowed by dreams in which he sees the death of his beloved wife. But Padmé is a little worried about this, she is sure that "on Coruscant, women do not die from childbirth," and nothing threatens her. Despite Anakin's warnings, she continues to engage in political activities and essentially endangers herself with oppositional activities.
Padmé is very worried about Anakin, who is under constant stress due to ongoing friction between the Council and Chancellor Palpatine. She offers to seek Obi-Wan's help, but Anakin rejects the offer. Most of all, Padma wants to forget about the war at least for a while, to live a little in the world. She wants to go to give birth on Naboo's home planet, the Lake District, and hopes Anakin can be there for her.
Although she herself previously admits that the democracy they fought for is no more, Padmé doesn't fully believe Anakin when he talks about the Order's betrayal of the Supreme Chancellor. With anxiety, she escorts her husband to Mustafar. She herself is present at the last meeting of the Senate in her life. Upon hearing of the proclamation of the Empire, she perceives the news with alarm and advises her comrade Bail Organa to remain patient, by no means go into open conflict with the Emperor and wait until the opportunity to start a fight presents itself.
Obi-Wan, wanting to know where Anakin flew to, tells Padma about his betrayal, going over to the Dark Side, direct involvement in the murder of younglings in the Temple, and finally about the former Supreme Chancellor who planned the last war, its consequences and everything that led them to "Here and now". Padmé, realizing that the horrors being perpetrated in the now former Republic by Palpatine are true and a confirmation of her fears, still contradicts herself out of feelings for Anakin. Obi-Wan guesses that Padme is pregnant (given that she was about 8-9 months pregnant, it's hard not to notice) and the father is Anakin, and leaves her, actually hiding on her skiff. Padme, refusing the company of Captain Typho, flies to Mustafar with only C-3PO. She tries to convince Darth Vader that he rejected the Dark Side, flew away with her, leaving war and politics. She is horrified by her husband's position regarding the rule of the Galaxy. When Obi-Wan arrives, Anakin decides that she has betrayed him and attempts to kill her with the Dark Force, but leaves her alive as he was thwarted by Obi-Wan.
After the duel with Skywalker is over, Obi-Wan takes Padme to the medical center, where she gives birth to two children, naming them Leia and Luke. After telling Obi-Wan that there is still good in Anakin, she dies. According to the medical droids, Padmé simply lost her will to live.
Padme is buried with full honors in Theed, on Naboo. Her children are hidden: Luke is taken to his father's homeland, Tatooine, and Leia is taken to Alderan. They hide them for two reasons: the Emperor can find them and kill them, because they are a threat to his power, as they can overthrow him. The second reason is that Darth Vader can find them and bring them up in evil. The droid C-3PO has his memory erased so he won't tell anyone.

After several years of working for Gardulla, he lost his family in races to a Toydarian, a parts dealer named Watto, and the Skywalkers found a new owner.
At the age of eight, Anakin first learned about the Sith. About the great wars of the past, he was told by an old Republican pilot who believed that not all Sith died in those wars and one managed to survive.

Anakin invited the new friends to his home to wait out the sandstorm, where he learned their true purpose of coming to Tatooine - to escape from the Trade Federation to the senate on Coruscant in order to stop the invasion of Naboo. The travelers' hyperdrive was broken and Eni volunteered to help, revealing a desire to race the Bunta Eve Classic in order to win enough money to buy it. The mother could not refuse her son, in his desire to help.

Qui-Gon Jinn saw Skywalker's potential, his lightning-fast reaction, and after checking, he was surprised to learn that his level of midi-Chlarians was higher than that of himself. Anakin, in turn, was very eager to become a Jedi in order to help everyone, which prompted Qui-Gon to think of freeing the boy.
Before the race, Jinn made a bet with the owner of the Skywalkers. But on the condition of Anakin's victory, Watto agreed to let go only the boy, leaving his mother with him.

The boy experienced the emotions left over from the life of a slave, so the masters felt that he could not achieve the state of peace that a true Jedi needs.

Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear breeds anger; Anger breeds hatred; Hatred is the key to suffering. I feel a strong fear in you.
Not knowing where to go now, Anakin trailed Jinn with whom he flew to Naboo on a mission to liberate the planet from Trade Federation occupation.
Coincidentally, Anakin took a direct part in the Battle of Naboo in space. He single-handedly managed to destroy an entire orbital station that controlled the droids on the planet, ending the invasion.
Although Skywalker emerged victorious, sad news awaited him on earth. In battle with, Kawai-Gon died. The Dying Genie took Obi-Wan Kenobi, his apprentice, with a promise to train the boy and the Council was resigned to the fact that Anakin would become trained in the Force.
After the victory on Naboo, the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic himself promised to follow Skywalker's progress.
Obi-Wan's Apprentice
Innate abilities instantly put Eni above their peers, which began to nourish his pride. He often showed off, opposed the opinions of his elders, and did not show much respect for Obi-Wan, whom he looked down upon somewhat.
Obi-Wan became more than just a teacher to Anakin, he was like a father to him. Secretly, Skywalker believed that his strength was many times greater than the strength of his teacher and Kenobi restrained him. This fact made their relationship confusing and contradictory.
When Anakin did not get along well with Kenobi, he went to his "friend" Palpatine, who flattered the Jedi's pride with praise.

Attack of the Clones
Attack of the Clones is the second film in which we see Anakin. Its events take place 10 years after the end of the plot of the first part. In this film, the grown-up Anakin is played by actor Hayden Christensen.
Skywalker and Kenobi
In 22 BBY, Padmé Amidala, now Senator for the Chommell Sector, was assassinated. Anakin, who had not seen Padmé in ten years, was appointed as her personal protector. For ten years, Skywalker did not stop thinking about Amidala, and now that he was with her, his attraction grew into love.
On Naboo, where Padme was hiding with her protector, she answered him with consent, kissing him for the first time. Amidala was more prudent than Skywalker as she thought about the consequences. Anakin, on the other hand, was focused on feelings, breaking with the Order's tradition of being bound only to the Force.
For a long time, Anakin suffered from nightmares in which he saw his mother. A new nightmare he saw on Naboo caused him to defy orders to protect Amidala, taking her with him to Tatooine to find Shmi. On Tatooine, the hero learned that the mother was freed by the farmer Cliegg Lars, who married her. At the Lars farm, Eni was told that Shmi had been kidnapped by Tusken raiders, so the hero immediately rushed to find her.

Using his instincts, Anakin found Shmi, though it was too late. The mother died in his arms. This death caused such anger that the Jedi slaughtered the entire tribe of raiders. including women and children. Even Yoda felt Skywalker's pain and anger.
With the death of his mother, the Jedi had a terrible desire to obtain such power, with which you can save people from death.
Padme: « There are things that cannot be fixed, you are not omnipotent, Anakin.»
Anakin: « And there should be! One day I will... I will be the most powerful Jedi! I promise you. I will learn how to make people not die!»
Arriving on Tatooine, Anakin learned that his master had been taken prisoner by the Confederacy on Geonosis. Skywalker's goal was to protect Amidala, but she persuaded the Jedi to go to save Kenobi. Eni left Tatooine, taking his droid C-3PO with him.
Arriving on Geonosis, the couple were captured and put up, along with the previously captured Obi-Wan, in the arena of gladiators. Before the threat of death, Anakin and Padme confessed their love to each other. The trio was saved from certain death by the arrival of the Jedi and the clone army.
Leaving Amidala, Eni and his teacher began to pursue - the head of the Confederation and a former Jedi (note: Qui-Gon Jinn's teacher). Skywalker lost an arm in a fight with him. and almost died if Yoda did not come to the rescue.
Dooku cuts off Anakin's hand
Anakin was implanted with a mechanical arm and while he was in the Temple for treatment, Yoda and Kenobi tried to convince Amidala to end their relationship with him. Padmé lied and she and Skywalker soon married. A secret wedding ceremony took place at Varikino on Naboo. The only witnesses were the droids C-3PO and R2-D2.

Clone Wars
This war made Anakin a legend. He became famous as the best fighter pilot, earning the rare title of Tang.
In the war, Skywalker did not care about his own life, as he worried about the health of his teacher, Palpatine, the soldiers who acted under his leadership, and even the astrodroid R2-D2. More and more rules were broken by the Jedi. More and more he feared for Padmé's life.
Anakin vs Ventress
On a mission to the planet Naboo, Skywalker met Asajj Ventress, a dark Jedi who became a fierce enemy of both Anakin and Kenobi.
During the war, Obi-Wan took on the training of Padawan Halaged Ventor, with whom Anakin became very good friends.
The Clone Wars was a terrible event in the life of a Jedi. During the battles on the planet Jabiim, Skywalker received a message about the alleged death of a teacher. This made the hero more reckless. He threw himself into the thick of things along with clones, Padawans and Jedi. When Palpatine wished to evacuate Anakin from the planet, he agreed, soon learning that everyone he fought had died.
For his heroic actions in the war, Anakin was declared a Jedi Knight. The cut off scythe of the Padawan, Skywalker sent to his wife as a token of love.
Arriving on Coruscant, Anakin wanted to meet his wife, but fell into the trap of Asajj Ventress. The Dark Jedi promised to kill Amidala, which again plunged Skywalker into a rage. In this duel, the hero received his famous scar over his right eye. He emerged victorious, but Ventress managed to survive.
Anakin continued to participate in the battles for the Republic. While fighting on the planet Christophis, his first apprentice was assigned to the Jedi. After the victory on Christophis, Anakin, though reluctantly, accepted the Padawan.

Together with Ahsoka, Eni completed quite a few missions. Together, they rescued Jabba's son, participated in a mission to liberate the planet Kyros, rescued Jedi Master Plo Koon,
Although Anakin and Ahsoka became friends, Tano left the Jedi.
In the Battle of Coruscant, when the Confederacy invaded, the Republic managed to win, but Chancellor Palpatine was captured.
Revenge of the Sith
Skywalker and Kenobi went to save the chancellor. After finding Palpatine, the Jedi engaged Count Dooku in battle. The Count was still strong, so he quickly knocked out Kenobi by crossing swords with Anakin. War-hardened Skywalker suddenly won, chopping off both of the Sith's arms.
After ordering Palpatine to kill Dooku, the Jedi beheaded him, taking another step towards darkness. To the chancellor's persuasion to abandon Kenobi, Anakin refused.
Returning to Coruscant, the hero learned the news that his wife was pregnant. After that, Anakin increasingly began to be tormented by visions where he saw the death of Amidala. Because of them, the Jedi wanted to gain access to the forbidden holocrons of the masters of the past. This was facilitated by Palpatine, who appointed Skywalker as his representative on the Jedi Council. This meant that Eni was supposed to become a master, but he still did not increase his rank.
The final point of distrust of the Council was that the Jedi asked Anakin to keep an eye on his friend - Palpatine.
The Jedi turned to Yoda for help. He spoke about his prophetic visions in which a person close to him dies, but did not reveal his identity. Yoda advised him to learn to let go of everything that he is afraid to lose. Skywalker was not satisfied with this answer.
Despite the Council's warnings, Anakin continued to spend time with Palpatine, who began to develop a dark side in him. The Chancellor told a story about Darth Plagueis (his teacher) who had power over death. This story made Anakin think that the dark side could save Padmé's life.
When Palpatine revealed his identity - Darth Sidious, the Sith Lord, offering Skywalker the path of the dark side to save his beloved, Anakin refused, reporting everything.
Windu, along with Agen Kolar, Saesee Tiin, and Kit Fisto were supposed to arrest the Sith when Anakin was supposed to stay at the Temple. But, of course, he didn't listen. Tormented by thoughts of Amidala's death, Skywalker followed the Jedi. Arriving at the chancellor, the hero found Windu, who was about to kill Palpatine. The fear of losing Padmé overwhelmed Anakin as he cut off the master's hand and allowed Palpatine to win.
It was too late to repent, there was no going back. Palpatine explained this as the Jedi's destiny and offered to join the dark side. The Sith Lord promised to discover the secret of power over death, so Skywalker agreed to become a student of Darth Sidious in order to save Amidala's life.
So, Anakin Skywalker “died”, becoming legendary.

While rewatching George Lucas' Star Wars movie saga (finally, in order) I was fascinated by the costumes of Padma Amidala (played by the beautiful Natalie Portman).
As part of this post, I want to tell you a little about the history of the creation of these costumes and, of course, give you the opportunity to just admire them :)
Padme appears in the first three (and the last) episodes of Star Wars (Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace (1999), Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones (2002) and Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith "(2005) and is a key character: it was she who influenced the protagonist Anakin, and later gave birth to two twins, who became the main characters of the original trilogy.

Biggar flew from England every three months to Lucas' Skywalker Ranch for a couple of weeks and discussed all the ins and outs of working with Lucas. In between, she worked in her studio, concept designer Iain McCaig sent her concept drawings, she made her changes and sent back. For each prequel episode, Trisha traveled the world looking for rare, beautiful fabrics that she loved. No dyed prints and polyesters - the best silks, velvets, linen blends, vintage laces.
Nine months before filming began, the period of physical costume creation began. Trisha created workshops at Leavesden Studio, where up to 100 people worked at the same time, creating costumes. The first series of the prequel was filmed in England, so all the costumes were made at Leavesden Studios. By the second episode, the costumes were partly made in England, partly on location in Australia. By the third episode, all production had moved to Australia. All of Trish's chief assistants came with her from England, as did many cutters, seamstresses, dyers and fabric printers, embroiderers, pattern makers, leather and bead makers, and hatters. During the production of costumes for the saga, there were from 80 to 120 people in the workshops.
The work proceeded in a completely unorthodox way. The usual flow of events is that the designers get the script, break it down into chunks and scenes, figure out the number of main and supporting characters, figure out how many changes of clothes they'll need, and then work on the sketches. In the case of the prequel, there was no script, there was an oral story by Lucas, about what would be in the series - and the designers began to draw a huge number of sketches and sketches of worlds, places, creatures, costumes. The attic at Lucas' ranch was thickly hung with these sketches. Heroes, places, plot moves gradually crystallized out of this.

After Trish and concept designer Ian agreed on the design, color, and fabrics for the costume, work began. If the costumes were for the main characters, a professional dresser took and recorded all body measurements, outlined the contour of the hand and foot, if necessary, made an additional cast of the body or head. After that, a costume model was made from materials very similar in characteristics to those chosen (but simpler). The hero in this model was filmed on photos and videos, and he was looked at and twisted in every possible way - the proportions, shape, drape of the fabric, how it moves were carefully studied. It was taken into account what he would do - whether it was possible to jump, fight, bend down in these clothes. Lucas himself oversaw all the changes and filming - so that the costume looked exactly the way he needed on the set.
Only after that the main fabric was cut and costumes for filming were sewn. On the shooting itself, there were almost no surprises - that the costume did not behave as it should.

The style in which Padme's costumes were created can be called "futuristic vintage" - a combination of fantastic elements with historical finds. The costumes clearly show elements of the traditional costumes of Japan, Burma, Indonesia, Nepal, China, Russia, Tibet and other countries.
Since the script for the first part included a "fake" queen, the design artists decided that many of the costumes should at least partially hide the queen's facial features, making it difficult to distinguish Amidala's doppelgänger from the real queen.
In Star Wars. Episode II: Attack of the Clones, which takes place 10 years later, Padmé Amidala, now aged 23 or 24, becomes Senator of the Galactic Senate after her second term as Queen of Naboo ends.
Padmé's clothing becomes less restrictive compared to "Episode I", but her wardrobe is more numerous. She wears less formal and softer clothes as she transforms from a menator to a woman in love and then to a woman of action fighting for her life.
Her character got older, and Natalie Portman was able to wear more sexy outfits. "George wanted Natalie to be softer, more feminine and less businesslike," says Biggar. Despite this, the work on the costumes was very time-consuming. "In making all the costumes for Episode II, most of the work was done by hand," says Briggar. "A lot of embroidery, beading - that is, all kinds of decorative art."
In the third part of the saga "Star Wars. Episode 3 - Revenge of the Sith", three years have passed since the previous events.
Between parts 2 and 3, Padmé married Anakin Skywalker.

For her wedding attire, Trish Biggar looked after an antique bedspread made of yellowed lace that miraculously got to her on the bed. The bedspread was not enough for what they had in mind. But all three of them - with Lucas and Ian, they wrapped and pinned the fabric on the mannequin and decided with a sigh that there was no way without it. A whole group of craftswomen dismantled the bedspread into elements, then carefully sewed them onto pieces of tulle cut out for the dress. For additions and transitions, the craftswomen wove 300 meters of silk cord in the same range - and the dress came out as Trish intended it! Padme's head was veiled with Maltese lace and adorned with real pearl-coloured Edwardian wax flowers and rosettes of their pearls.

This episode's costume designer Tricia Biggar says: "We knew Padmé was pregnant all over the world, even though no one in the outside world knew it. And I wanted to reflect her condition in the soft tissues... On the other hand, in "Episode III" there is a war going on for several years, Anakin
far away, and Padme's position is more critical than in Attack of the Clones... As a designer, I was able to show the more serious side of her life with slightly darker, but not dense fabrics. “I wanted to draw a parallel to that scene on the island from Episode II, when we see it for the first time, when she and Anakin were together and
fell in love with each other. Around them was water, and its colors were
surprising that I wanted to use them again. We hand-painted the velvet to add water color to it. There was also very, very thin chiffon in shades of blue and green, which was boiled using a special technology to make it even thinner - like a cobweb. “On screen, it all came out even more beautifully than I expected. I was absolutely delighted,” adds Biggar.
