How to make a newspaper hat

In summer, you may not have a cap at hand to cover your head from the scorching sun, so you need to know how to make a hat from the newspaper, which is always nearby. Such a paper craft will always be useful, both in terms of practical application, and in order to keep the child busy with interesting things.

In the summer, in order not to get a sunstroke, you need to cover your head with a cap, hat or panama hat, but these are not always at hand, and newspapers are sold on every corner. So it's always good to know how to make a hat from a newspaper.

By the way, you can use it to cover your head not only on the street. It will also be useful at home when renovating an apartment, plastering, painting. And it is also a very convenient way to keep a child busy, and such a thing will interest a kid of any age and gender.

But, as I already said, there are several options for how to make a hat from a newspaper. You can make an army hat instead of the usual garrison cap. This method is more complicated, but in the end it turns out to be a very interesting option.

Hat with a visor made of paper

However, many are interested in the design of a hat with a visor. This is a very comfortable style, especially for working in the country, boating on the river and in the sea, walking in the woods.

Such a cut protects the eyes from the sun, looks original, and will especially attract children who also want to have something similar.

To make a newspaper hat, a large format press of the Izvestia type with a double sheet is required. The size of such a sheet is A1.

So, I start to add.

I also bend the sheet in half, and wrap two triangles inward, as with the garrison cap option. I get two identical triangles on one side.

I bend the remaining strips two times. This is how I got the basis for several caps.

After all, the technology is universal, and from such a blank you will get both a garrison cap and an army hat, and even a cowboy hat. But I want to make a hat from a newspaper with a visor, and therefore I unfold the strip on one side again.

The second one remains bent and will serve as a band for the future hat. Next, I bring the corners of the resulting triangle to the center, and try on the hat on my head or on the head of the person to whom it is intended.

If the hat is for a child, then the corners will overlap, and if for an adult, then they will barely touch each other.

Continuing to make a hat from the newspaper, I form a visor. To do this, I bend the bottom strip in half on the other side. She will be the visor.

To give it a shape, I bend the edges of two elongated triangles on both sides, and fix their corners behind the rim from the inside.

To make it look even more stylish, I wrap the side corners of the cap up. Now it is completely ready, and you know how to make a hat from a newspaper. Watch the video for more details:
